Thanks for this video! If I have escarole in a raised bed and I harvest it now to get the leaves, can I transplant it to another spot in my garden, use the space in the raised bed for another crop, let the escarole grow throughout the summer in another location and send up seed stalks and then cut it back again in the fall? If I do this, will I be able to harvest in the fall again? I'd appreciate any advice, I've never grown escarole before but it's one of my favorites!
I have never tried to transplant escarole mid season. I have to replant it, myself because I've moved and disturbed my gardens quite a lot since this video and all the self seeded escarole is spent. Time to re-sow! Good luck!
Did Malabar spinach survive winter? I thought it was a sub tropical veg. I grew up in Southeast Asia hating Malabar spinach but it's all the rage here in North America.
Nope, it doesn't survive winter so i plant it as an annual. Boy does it go crazy and takes over the bed. I made a new space for it this year... It's a good green for hot summers because it doesn't bolt like spinach and lettuce and bugs here don't bother it.
