Sir, couple a months ago I asked you about light weight vs heavy weight, you told me that every athlete prepare for their own game in their own way. I got a video from armbets tv, that is a prematch strength testing video ( title of the video -the truth of alexey voevodas strength. 10:07-12:21.)of tim bresnan and alexey voevoda. In that video voevoda is pulling a lot more weight than tim but holding it for
15 secs, Tim holding a light weight for 35 secs. We know in that match tim beated voevoda successfully. So in my opinion light weight for more reps is best state to do exercises for this specific sport. Am I understood it in right way? What are your thoughts about my opinion or learning?

I agree with JM Press. As a side-note, that exercise will also help you increase your bench press power (not necessarily useful for arm wrestling, but a nice side effect for anyone into strength sports). To think JM Blakely used to handle something like 400lbs on those when he was training for competition. I started on those with just the 45lb bar until I was capable of at least 15 clean reps, then I started slowly adding weight.

Can u imagine if JM Blakely arm wrestled. That inner elbow must be incredible. He'd be a hook side pressure Monster.

The intent of the exercise isn’t to establish a standard, like a 400 pound bench. The intent is to constantly progress.
If my tennis ball is squishy and I squeeze for 4 minutes and improve to 5, that’s a 25% increase.
If your tennis ball is solid and you squeeze for 2 minutes and improve to 2.5 that’s a 25% increase. That doesn’t mean you’re 50% as strong as me though.

Note to anyone who might see this:
All tennis balls are not created equal! I was wandering through Walmart the other day and just picked up a pack of tennis balls, the orange and yellow wilson, like Todd has. It felt great for gripping. Very elastic and squishy. I looked and saw that there is another 3 pack of balls in a tube, which are less than $2 instead of around $4 for the others. So naturally, I thought I might as well save a couple bucks because a tennis ball is a tennis ball. I was definitely wrong. The cheap ones are hard as a rock, with no elasticity. You can still squeeze it a little bit, but trust me, you want the one like he has in the video.

Can't train because I damaged the tendons in my first two right fingers somehow. Have you ever done that and how did you rehab them? Three months and they are not really improving much. When I wake up, they are numb and hard to close my hand. As I move around, they become flexible again and can use my hand as normal, but it is tender in those two areas on the inside right above the joint with the hand. I did this working not armwreslting so it is not from armwrestling but it keeps me from being able to train. I have taken it easy, and I have tried forcing work on them for blood flow and strength and neither works to heal them yet? Have any suggestions Uncle Todd?
