Yup there are two playing violin. And lest we forget, Layne is actually beat boxing while he plays violin! No easy task to do one or the other by themselves, let alone simultaneously. One of VP’s best performances IMO.
VP is number one for me. What pulls me in and keeps me coming back are the unusual and gorgeous arrangements, the creativity and sheer musicality of their choices. Almost always when they surprise me - and they do it often - it's because something is so unexpectedly, uncannily GOOD that it sends chills. Then throw in the versatility of the individual singers and the way they seem to effortlessly integrate guest talent....they just make my ears happy.
This was the first song I saw from them and it's so amazing. I love it more than the original. And you're right, they are very talented and always improve and try to get better and better, not just singing vice, but in their video design and production as well, now that they have more budget and their patreon has grown over the years. They always make their videos as epic and professional as possible with the limited resources they have and are so creative and unique with some great voice acting while singing that they do, costumes and theatrics too, that's what I love about them!
With Halloween coming up, you should react to VoicePlay's covers of Grim Grinning Ghosts, This is Halloween, and The Oogie Boogie Song from The Nightmare Before Christmas - unless you've already done these. They are all very creative especially with their concepts & makeup used. Thanks for a great reaction!
Yes, Pentatonix did Radioactive with Lindsey Stirling and with Kevin playing his cello, interestingly enough another Imagine Dragons song - obviously there's something in them that demands strings.... This is one of my favourite VoicePlay covers, they really do a great job with it.
i thought it was seeing things but YES there are two near the beginning playing the violin, i had to go back and watch it again to be sure but yes the black guy, sorry idk their names yet, did play a few notes but the white guy played it the rest of the time! seriously i was thinking it was a lighting issue after the first watch thru but it is two of them. lol also i usually hate voiceplay but this was pretty good, i've never heard the original so idk how good it was related to that but it sounded great.
It is just me that is reminded of PTX's cover of Radioactive? And yes, both J and Layne are playing violin at one point. Still can't watch the vid without getting nauseous. Edit: Never mind first point. I commented before watching whole video.

And as a violinist I can assure you that he doesn't mimic the playing. No matter how well you are coached, you can see that immediately. Lovely!

Marcello Bass no one likes a correction asshole!!! We all get it!!
I continue to love this video. I think it was the beginning of the amazing videos that now are one of many incredible songs.

Yes, Layne the beatboxer (he did that too) and J None both played violins in this. Elsewhere Geoff plays piano and sings: Blackbird and High and Dry.

Layne, beatboxer, was playing the electric violin...while J-None, baritone, sang lead and played the wooden violin.
This is by far my favorite from them.
Hi there. I really like this one. Please react to The Heart of Life, which was done soon after one of their members left. Love the harmonies in it.
This song is so much better than the original. I’m such a convert!
This is, IMO, their best to date.
Yeees! Bring more VoicePlay🤩
Kevin does 'cello-boxing' Layne does 'vio-boxing' !!!!!!
LOL You have to trust us. We wouldn't steer you wrong! :)
“Once Upon A Dream” by Voiceplay is good for spooky season. No really! Trust me!
Please do a reaction video of Voice Play singing We Don't Talk About Bruno. They are fantastic.
Listen to some Harry Chapin from the 70;s he had a cellist in his group.

I got that vibe from this as well.
Well they're both Imagine Dragons, who I love, but their music isn't exactly super unique. They have a tendency to make epic sounding music.
