"Luckily, in the section, I can hide. But you're taking an audition so you can't," and "All of my students can play this better than me." LOL! I LOVE IT! I have never heard anyone admit that. So refreshing. Gus, you've been one of my favorite horn players since the 1980s Pops concerts on PBS, when I sat transfixed watching a tiny tube TV just waiting for each and every horn solo or tutti. And you're still batting 1000.
He is now using a silver-plated Schmidt horn. His wife had that silver schmidt and he was trying horns that had the optimal sound for the BSO principal horn audition. He would always come back to his wife’s horn and he said that it had the best sound of all the horns he played, and as you know, he went into the audition, and won it!

This brought back many fond memories. "The three segments of Till". Wonderful. Thanks for making this, Gus.
Love that he had a different horn for each excerpt.
A wonderful masterclass! Thank you for your generosity, Mr. Sebring.

Excellent! I'm curious what horns (other than the Schmid) he's using. Does anyone know?
