In this video I unbox and put my recently purchased MeacoDry Arête One 25L Dehumidifier and put it to the test. I also registered the 5 year warranty quite painlessly and I successfully hunted the all to important required serial number down!

Absolutely brilliant all that water in one hour. I have always used interested free credit but always pay it off before end of month with PayPal.

How do you find the noise levels on this? I just got one because it's supposed to be very quiet (40-42dB) but even on the landing I can hear it from the bedroom with the door closed over. An app on the phone tells me mine is 60dB which I think is quite over spec. I certainly couldn't have this in a bedroom I was sleeping in. Having said that, for the first time in a long time, every bedroom window in the house was spotless in the morning, even behind blinds and curtains so the performance is amazing.
I would describe the noise as being that of a fan in the room and not the quietest one at that but bearable. I wouldn’t want to sleep in the same room with it on though!
How’s the power usage on this compared to the older one considering electric in the U.K. is around 40p per unit
The manufacturer claims running costs of 9pence per hour a boasts its most energy efficient. Here’s the link:-

Having a problem fitting the last castor. Three went in so easily. Machine now lop sided.
I can’t recall fitting any castors to this I think they were pre fitted. Either something has changed or you have a different model of dehumidifier. I would try swapping the raised castor with another just to see if it can fit snug in the hole.
I find all the information on dehumidifier confusing. You think I just need one of these for a 3 bed 1930s mid terrace?
This dehumidifier can do a 5 bedroom property and maybe overkill for your requirements, a twenty litre would do just fine.
@@TheRepairer I’ve got 3 bed detached which one do you think I should get? Is the 25l more powerful and removes more water quicker ? Or is it just the size of the tank that is bigger ?
The 25l is more powerful and will remove the most water in the same time compared to the smaller models, the only difference is the purchase price bigger capacity = greater purchase price.

Did it turn off when you opened the water drawer?
No it shut down as I removed the draw.
Can you show a video using a torch of the fan spinning inside?

does it work good under 20c, i mean at around 16-18c?
It works at those temperatures but better at 18-20 degrees centigrade
The castors are in the water tank...you need to take them out, you don't need to use them as you also don't need to use the air purification filter ( I think it's supposed to run quieter without it)
The castors were ready fitted on this one, I’ll probably do away with the filter when it’s at its end of life.

Returning mine as it was so loud and vibrating. Think mine was faulty

Yeah there not as quite as hoped there around 52dbs for the 20l one I have
Negative points: castors too small to roll well on carpets. NO timer function. Air outlet louvres cannot be directed to improve circulation (just fires straight up). Only way to put into low fan speed is to select night mode. Once it reaches target humidity and fan speed is low or off, if humidity rises it doesnt work until 30 minutes is up.
Thanks for the feedback I didn’t notice about the 30 minutes off once the target humidity is reached.
Last point is a positive design feature built in to avoid fatigue of the compressor, to save it going on and off too much for short periods.
When i want to open windows in mornings and evenings for 1hour, should i leave the unit on? Thank you
I would turn the dehumidifier off when the windows are open as the dehumidifier will be trying to decrease the humidity of the outside world.

@@mcgregor2922I just handed my maeco back to Argos. First day pulled about 2L. After that it would say 70% and run endlessly for days and rank was empty. Got fed up unplugged it and sent it back.
It's the highest rated dehumidifier as well so I've no idea why it randomly stopped working?
Couldn't be asked for a replacement so just took the refund. I'm looking at the Lidl one now (Silent night) it's a fraction of the price. So let's see
