    Everyone from TV fish industry should be watching this. Jack goes along and DOES explain everything, from the island geography to what he is doing. Well done.

    Hello everyone! What's the length between flasher/dodger and bait?

    • @AnglerWestTV
      @AnglerWestTV  2 роки тому +2

      Jack was using 24" of leader with 40lb test and Pro Trolls or similar flasher. That might vary with the bait/lure you are using and the water conditions.

      You'll see the first one in early February, but March is when they will start trickling in. April much better. This fishery starts slowing by May, while others May is tops.

      Nobody needs the meat dude. .We have grocery stores and all kinds of food. We fish because we want to be outdoors with family and friends. We want to grow our skills and learn to catch these amazing fish ...and eat them. You can vacuum pack them and they will keep for a year... though, I eat mine way before that. I will NOT stop fishing. If ODFW is selling tags, I'm buying them !

      @@timothyfrench9579 and there is always catch and release, when done properly there is very low mortality. Note that they are using a knotless net which helps protect the fish that must be, or are chosen to, be released. He also keeps them in the water, out of thd boat, until he sees if it is a keeper or not. Only fin clipped Chinook, the clip showing they are hatchery raised for harvest, are retained, if desired.
