@@joehemmann1156 The purpose of buying in bulk is that you need a lot of something very often, and being able to buy in bulk makes it cheaper and more conveniently accessible - rice ticks all these boxes. SOME spices I use literally like, once every five years. If I had to choose between spending 8 dollars on a little bottle of, like, "cream of tartar" or some shit, versus being able to get individual pinches of it for 50 cents a pinch, I would save money over lifetime and it wouldn't sit cluttering up my spice cabinet.

You can buy wall mounted racks and have a Cheesecake Factory level spice selection that takes up no room and looks cool. Is it a problem to have the option? Of course not. But spending literally any mental energy on the "problem" of being forced to buy too much spice is objectively hilarious.

Sucks a bit to want to cook a recipe and have to spend like $5+ on a niche spice I'll rarely want to use again! And even if I do, odds are the "buy a pinch" mode would still probably be cheaper in the long run. (Obvi this is isn't as true for stuff like garlic powder, which IS very multipurpose and also quite cheap, and I absolutely do buy bulk)
