But you speak one language right? You were also born in the country your still reside in? As someone who speaks two or more languages or has immigrated don’t stop talking in their native tongue after they leave their homeland. It’s more common to attract or interact with people who speak your language when living in a country that doesn’t speak your language. It’s creepy to you but not creepy to most people who are bilingual that have immigrated.

The dad was saying the fact that this black American dude he's talking to is so fluent in African and middle eastern languages, there's no way he's American so he has to be African. And America may be majority white by a small margin, but there's still around 30-40% of the country that isn't white. Idk why you're so offended and how you misinterpreted that so badly. I was 20 feet away, with my mask in place ( you know, the COVID thing to do), and in the process of attaching the rubber straps...She let's loose with " get your mask on, put you mask on"!!! I politely said," yes. of course. Thank you". I entered the store with my wife, and waited for the opportunity. The same lady was talking to her elderly husband and started laughing about something, she looked at me and patted me on the back like i was her friend, and said, "I was laughing at what my husband just said"...I seized the moment to release a "counter Karen" response, and loudly told her " Lady, please do not touch me! You KNOW there is a PANDEMIC, and you should know better! I don't know you, or where your hand have been. Now keep you distance or I will call management"!! I mean how smart is someone who is living in the USA and does not even know the average number of languages americans speak? It´s also funny how that lady probably doesn´t even speak english, yet she´s living in an english speaking country criticizing americans for not speaking foreign languages to countrys they have never been to. Roughly half the world speaks only one language, and half speaks two or more. On average the average american can speak 3 languages, go figure, huh? Edit: I'll also point out the fact to a lot of people in the replies that misread "most" for "all" for some unknown reason. Yes SOME are multilingual, MOST are not. So if you're someone in the replies commenting "Uh, well I exist so hello there, guy" I'm clearly not referring to you. I grew up in Vegas where most people there are multilingual, whether is Spanish, tagalog or Chinese.

Found the channel through another language channel and it makes me so sad thst such a transformative person and force of peace and unity passed away. This video brought me to tears bc so many immigrants come to this country and many refugees come from places like Somalia, Sudan and often times they are walking around, trying to adjust, to assimilate/settle into their new homes and in the process they make themselves small. Some cower down and just try their best to get thru their lives ...but the was this family was walking away quickly like they were worried or scared but then connected, opened up and stood a little taller when somebody they might've been trying to walk away from. Such a loss! I loved languages at one point and lost hope if learning new languages but this Channel is so inspiring. May you rest in tranquility, with God.

As fellow polyglot I'm jealous and genuinely admire this man - and his confidence in testing his formidable skills with native speakers. As an American, I could just cry with joy. I know it's been said before but people who come here from other countries, now esp, must feel so isolated and unsure about how they're perceived - if not assuming they're being looked down upon altogether, that is. Just kindly reaching out to another human is rare these days, it seems, but to do so in their language...regardless of if it's warmly received or not (or even if fueled in part by wanting to hone up on your own proficiency), IMO, it's one of the most beautiful things a fellow human can do FOR THE SAKE OF humanity. And most of all, lemme say, as a black person, the departed ancestors must be beaming with pride to hear one of their own speaking our ppls' native tongues. Love these vids. #connect

He speaks Somali very well, kinda the formal stuff though. He is only missing the slang that we use often. I think he is doing it the right way by talking with native speakers, he will get better in all of the languages he speaks.
