I think I should copy and paste this, as nobody seems to understand. It's not a new match engine, it's a new GRAPHICS engine, two different things. Match engine will have improvements, it always does, but it would be a disaster for SI to try and introduce a whole new match engine in the same year as the graphics engine is being redesigned from the ground up using new software.

Sports interactive in there blog in 2023 state it be a new graphics engine in fm 25 and an vastly improved match engine so improved player animations,

If you implemented volumetric player movement it would significantly enhance the engine, you dont need high fidelity graphics for it , just as long as your little dudes move better that will be huge

Not ea graphics but a move towards more realistic animations would be great

I think there won't be real-life stadiums. What I would like to see is some kind of modular, procedural gen ones. You can't make real ones in game - too much work. Rather would be cool to give modders an access to that so we could have real stadium's from mods or even design in 3d software ones for our club
I think it's crazy really they are saying it's available for pre order without actually telling anyone anything about the game.

I swear that about a year ago I read SI say somewhere that they were just going to port all the old animations over to new player models in Unity, and that's why they were confident of getting everything done in time. Was I hallucinating that or does anyone else remember it too? If they decided, within the last year, to develop entirely new animations alongside the new match engine, then no wonder it's in such a terrible state that they can't even show static screenshots less than 2 months before the release date.
Would help if people didn't mix game engine, graphic engine and match engine all the time. Everyone is projecting what they believe SI promised and are upset (ahead of time even) that they didn't deliver.
Yes! The match engine is probably gonna be a port of the old match engine into Unity, I assume the old ME was written in C/C++ in which case porting it shouldn't prove too challenging.
The graphics engine is gonna be Unity's though, replacing the old in-house renderer that SI has been using for the last decade or so.
I think the biggest tell is the recommended specs, 12GB RAM, RTX 2400. The minimum specs could just be for 2D.
That's quite a bit of a RAM jump, for reference Elden Ring recommends 16GB RAM and a GTX 1070.

Those specs don’t make sense to me. A GPU that was released 5 years ago and is worth about £150 used on eBay. But it needs 32GB of RAM that is certainly a lot. I imagine the RAM will be utilised more for just holding the data sheets while the game is open. Who knows really. It’s all guess work until we actually see something.
My concern is their lack of showing us any footage of the match engine. If it was great, and they were excited about it, why not show it to us?
@@BillyMcMorran i dont know too much about computers so i may be wrong, but arent some games more focused on CPU rather than GPU? Not every game actually takes a significant toll on GPU which may be the case here.
@@kipsifoh Football Manager has always been more reliant on the CPU since it's processing and simulating data. In terms of the match engine, the GPU would be the piece of hardware that powers the match engine - And that is one of the most important aspect of the game. In the past the match engine would be 2D and stress the SPU more, but a more modern 3D engine is more taxing on the GPU. We want the match day to look as good as possible, as it is one of the most important aspects of the game. A GPU from 5 years ago that you can buy for £150 can run the next Football Manager game. That tells me it wont be graphically intensive, and not to get my hopes too high in terms of the match engine.
Worth noting that there was a big article on Forbes where SI talked about all the work they'd done on the women's game, which sounds like it included a lot of mocap work. I would expect the volumetric animation, if it is in the game, would only be for a subset of top league players.
I'm extremely sad fm is a) my favorite game and b) one of the few games my pc can (or should I say could) run as the new match engine means my pc can't run it... But I can have fun on fm24 forever which is always nice

Mate - FM up until this day has graphics from 2012 PC. I was so fed up with graphics being almost the same for decade. The engine itself wasn't written to be effective. It doesn't mean that new one with 10x better graphics will use 10x more resources. It can actually use 1.5x times of resources.
@@HCforLife1 mate my pc doesn’t meet the minimum system requirements I don’t know what tf you’re yapping about it went from needing integrated graphics to a 900 gen Nvidia I have a 750 therefor I cannot play it please get your stats right

My guess is they'll only use volumetric animation for team where that technology is already installed, which is probably most Premier League teams and top teams for other division in other countries, but for the lower leagues (which I presume don't have that technology) I'm not sure how the volumetric animation can be player specific. Anyway, what they've released so far is so vague, it's anyone's guess how this will work in game.
Yep and vague is either good because they've smashed it, or, as is more likely, FM25 is going to be bridging the gap to 26 so won't be all that
i think there will be much more instructions, traits, stadium models, great animations, sideline drama, emotions, and sure more stats than ever
I dont give a shit for women's football if this wont be represented properly. Having women with same skillset and stats as top men players in fifa killed it for me. It would be nice to treat that like a jumpstart to the proper career. Realistically most european lower league divisions give you more fame and credibility in your career than coaching top women teams in most leagues.
in what world are you living in? what else do you expect other than the same stats? can you imagine the woke volcano exploding when they hear women stats are worse? you're so naive my friend.
I can’t wait to see the new engine. We don’t know much yet but hoping it’s the first big change to FM in quite some time!

I enjoyed the game when it was text based, then 2d, now 3d. I'm expecting a 4d experience and it will be great.

One thing I would love to see for FM is the the implementation of Modio.
I think this would bridge the gap between PC and consoles.
Introducing women's football would have been perfect in FM24. A great game, with 20 years of incremental improvements, that adds a full new part of the football world where we could evolve our stories in. But you don't spend development time on nice-to-haves if you are in the middle of a migration from one core system to a new one. Any developer with some wisdom knows that. Including SI, btw... they removed international football because they did not have time to flash out the feature before release. And that is the correct call: if you need to make tough decisions, focus on the core of your application.
I have no problems with women's football in the game. I actually want it now that I know I can have it, just like I want to be able to coach a youth team or to play as a Director of Football (two things that for some reason, SI doesn't want to implement...). The bigger the world, the better the simulation, hopefully.
I just think that the planning was incredibly mishandled and that it is doing a disservice to the game, to the company, to the community and to women's football altogether.
The name of the game literally is football manager. Tell me, why it would be possible to play as DoF? i'm intrigue by your thoughts
You are waffling. Removing international football made no sense. Adding women's football makes NO sense.

@@flacohernandez4380 I’ll answer for him on this one.
1 - Removing International Management, as it’s a different set of rules etc to implement, meant they could pull resources (people) from developing, testing and implementing that feature, and reassign them into whichever feature was clearly causing them issues. So that’s a simple allocation of resources. ANYONE who has ever had to do any kind of project management knows that, and that’s what SI have done. They announced they weren’t going to have International Management back in July I think? So they have had 3 months of those extra resources put into whatever part they were concerned about to make sure they could release the game in a decent time frame - and still had to put it back 3 weeks. So if they hadn’t done that, potentially the game wouldn’t have been released until after Christmas, which would have been the death of the game.
2 - Women’s Football. Although it is a small game at the moment, it is growing quickly. In England, for example, the WSL has had steadily increasing attendances for years, averaging 6,000 per game, with some teams like Arsenal getting higher attendances, there is greater television coverage, greater exposure etc. so as that side of the game is growing, and the fandom of it is growing, then that is potentially more people who might buy Football Manager who otherwise wouldn’t, in particular - Women, because another trend over the last 15 years or so is more and more women are gaming, so women gamers are an untapped market they’re trying to get into. They’re getting ahead of the curve, so to speak, and trying to create the next generation of Football Manager players, and are trying to entice more women to play the game. Men will always be attracted to FM if they’re football fans, and 99% will just play the men’s teams, that’s fine, doesn’t stop your ability to play the game, doesn’t change anything, but it gives people - men and women - the option of managing women’s teams if they choose to. The same as we’ve had the option for decades of managing Real Madrid or Spennymoor Town, or some club in the arse end of nowhere in Malaysia, it’s an option.
I don’t understand why you are so fragile that it bothers you. I’ll never manage a women’s team, I have no interest, but some people do. Having the OPTION to manage one or the other makes no difference to my enjoyment
@@renight123 people go to considerable lengths to do a save as director of football. There are videos here on UA-cam about it. So obviously there is some interest. Making some programming changes to facilitate it would be relatively simple, and SI is always looking for new features for the game.
No one really cares about women in FM. I'm curious to see if they are gonna make women OP as EA did on EA FC

Its probably going to be a more optimised and better physics version of WFO World football online game. Thats made in Unity and about on the level of what id expect to see first year of new fm.
I would say it's a slight improvement on new gen faces. Not even close to what's possible now.

I think it’s going to be a good game. Not great, but a very good building block for future fm’s and it will still be in depth and fun to play. The new UI doesn’t upset me. It looks easier to navigate. I think FM might need a new marketing team however because the hype for this game is so low
Yeah, you know their priorities are scuffed when they've been more vocal about what's GONE from the game than hints about the upgrade itself.

On the one hand improved graphics will definitely be a plus. On the other we all know we'll probably be mad if they're aren't still stupidly unrealistic moments 🤣
the fact that they haven't shared any information or videos about the match engine is evidence these devs are scammers.
Take this whichever way you like however for the best part of two years games with 'community' have been taking a knock. Empires and Allies was the 1st game I played which was sold off to Take Two and closed down, it had 6.2 million players when they broke the game and closed it. World of Tanks is going the same way. They have closed down the in game chat and removed certain things which were needed in game to help each other. So now I ask what the hell are Sports interactive doing other than removing in game things which weve all got use to with the 'promise' it may find its way into FM26. Personally I dont think FM25 will see the light of day and will morph into FM26...if its not broke - dont fix it!
What i want is off course better movement on pitch, far better arena crowd that is more symbolic with the amount of fans coming to arena.
And the option to not have player interaction at all! Geez these whiny boys get on my nerve

Basically mimic what it would been in 2025 with 2024 engine.
If u try to get pre orders without showing actual game footage alarm bells start ringing loud. Thecwoje trailer was a joke. Assisted the constant womens football being touted as a major feature ..how many women play fm? Also for it to be bext gen...anyone else sick to death of no commentary in match days? It needs commentary to make it immersion...lm sick of generic crowd noise. Anyhow. Red alert all...they hiding game play away! Could the pc version be a dumbed down LMA manager?
FM25 will be an absolute disaster. I work in marketing and under normal circumstances the graphic engine would be shown months before, it's the main selling point of FM25. NOT A SINGLE SCREENSHOT has surfaced. They are trying to hide it.
I personally believe it will be the same catastrophic disaster as PES23->WePES. It will completely destroy the franchise and the only ones that still play it are addicted die hard fans that won't accept the reality.

Its a football management game NOT FIFA and there is nothing wrong with the current match engine its the lack of control over your teams tactics and for that matter training thats the issue, the match engine is just a graphical illustration of the match. I really do think people expect to much of the wrong things from FM, I just want to have a lot more hands on control over how my team train and play and the silly issues sorting like players needing a rest even after you leave them out of the team for a couple of games and players demanding more playing time when its obvious there either not good enough or someone else is better than them, yeah sometimes they accept it but not always. Custom training also like linking crossing to long shots since there similar skill sets and the list goes on, I do not care one iota about the match engine
That's like saying you don't care what food you eat as long as it's nutritious, that may be what you like but most people aren't the same as you. We want a realistic engine so it actually looks like football and not some glitchy awkward mess of animations.
@@lelouchvibritannia5408 I accepted the reality many years ago, SI do not care what we want and have no interest in fixing the many issues that make playing a saved game over multiple seasons so excruciatingly frustrating. SI invested £125m to migrate the game to UNITY I bet none of that comes with any significant improvements to the match engine or the game mechanics, probably spent on entertainment down the pub or in posh restaurants. The fact is that £125m was nothing but a tax scam with their excuse being the UNITY migration. I worked in Corporate Platform integration and £125m buys you a lot of man hours far more than what would have been needed to complete a successful UNITY migration. and even then they utterly and completely failed to meet their own deadline without a backup plan, a shambles complete incompetence.

The screenshot of Fram Kirby looks kind a woke to me,1.88 cm and abilities of a top striker, i think that she is better then H.Kane, atribute wise.
Unlike FIFA Ultimate Team men will never play with/against women so she s rated relative to other women which in that case it s fine
@@edi0157 Its the same sport, Football and this is a video game, if a female football player has 18 acceleration and 18 pace in the match engine, she will have the same speed like Salah, that its not realistic
For years the FM franchise have been adding in unnecessary features, while neglecting core ones. They added the ability for teams to walk out on to the pitch on a match day a few years ago - Who cares? They said they had a new underlying piece of code that would result in more realistic player animations moving forward two years ago - Never happened. There’s versions of FIFA that are a decade old and look light years ahead of Football Manager in terms of the match engine. We have been wanting a huge upgrade to the match engine for years. What we have now, for 2024, is ridiculous. We all have powerhouse PCs while playing a football game that looks like it was made in the 90s. If FM removed most of the bloat, reducing the length of time needed to play put a season, it would appeal to the wider casual player base. A better looking game would appeal to a wider demographic of gamers. Adding woman’s football is not what the community asked for. Most of us won’t ever touch it.

Forget their animations when the match engine is broken in every manager game! Not only that but AI is broken too. Agter playing 2 seasons AI starts ruing teams badly, always plays the same first 11 even if they're dead tired making few subs, in time sells everybody who doesn't play and cats 5 new goalkeepers instead of strikers! :D
SO their graphic engine might be better but AI will never be better bcz simply they cannot do it with current obsolete chips, they are still using the same technology last 20+ years and cannot getting better - they have hit the wall.... whether its on purpose or not is another story!
i never cared about the match engine. just continue improving it by not letting keepers and players be stupid
