How much knowledge of Dynamical Systems would you recommend before reading this book? I took one introductory course at university so far based on the Nonlinear Dynamics and Chaos by Steven Strogatz but that's all.
That should be sufficient to at least get started. The stuff on invariant measures might get a little tough, but you don't need more than a surface level understanding of many topics to get through this. I also provide references throughout that can get you to background material.
