In number two it was also the girl to the side who had a filter that was fading in and out. Hilarious. I understand not being happy with how you look. I used to be 435 pounds. Now down to 247 and still working at it. But I never tried to hide who I am. I just wore black a lot.
Unfortunately, many people in China are told being an internet celebrity is a way to make a living, so it's progessed to acting weird and doing outlandish things to get people to pay attention to what they're selling/pushing
In China they think pale skin is more beautiful. Lots of skin care products claim to make skin whiter as a selling feature. When I was there in 2005 most sunscreen was marketed as “SPF 30 plus Skin Whitening”. It was memorable because we Canadians love a nice tan. A tan means it’s summer.
The definition of "beauty" to a lot of Chinese, Japanese and South Koreans is a bright white, small face. I've lived in Japan for 20 years and been to both other countries, definitely a wide-spread thing in all 3 countries. This is why K-pop boys are so popular. They are the definition of "beautiful men" in these regions of Asia. Then you have niche polar opposites, like "Gyaru" and "Ganguro" girls in Japan that make their skin as dark as possible and highlight the bridge of their nose, eyelids and lips with bright colorful glittery makeup , massive eyelashes and giant bedazzled fingernails
I'm trying to figure out if they just want to present themselves as cartoon characters or if they truly want people to believe that is how they look. Either way, it's weird. It's especially weird because the women end up looking like child cartoon characters.
From this video and examining a few comments. Imo. People don't want to be motivated to change any longer. Everybody gets a trophy. When in reality. It doesn't work that way in practice.
This was pretty interesting. I agree they both looked lovely without the filter. But what's standing out to me is, these women seem to be hiding their ethnic physical characteristics, more than anything else. The filter doesn't make them prettier; it takes away their natural, ethnic, human characteristics. These women were attractive, so if they think they need to use that, I posit it's a response to social shaming.

Why do people use those filters knowing that if they get exposed its over.. So stupid. XD
Because they are talentless 😂
Zero self-esteem.

I agree that they each look better without the filter.
Maybe they want to evade the social score system.
If I ever film a lil dance for TikTok someone please end my misery.
Imagine lizzo dancing and her filter fell off and she turns into some beautiful Lady , now I could understand using a filter that way 😊

Yes, remember what the geishas looked like? Pure white makeup on their faces. ❤
Hahaha It’s just ridiculous. So these people don’t plan on meeting anyone in person, ever. Sad. Thank you 😂😭
The girl in the mirror was real life shallow Hal
I appreciate you Mr Boyd. Thank you
They're mimicking the Alien Greys with their absent jaws, slits for noses, weird big eyes, and bulb heads 😂

That last one looked like an alien. I can't take evolution seriously when I'm watch humanity get stupider by the minute. 😢
Tell me you have trust issues without telling me you have trust issues.
Glad I didn't grow up using this trash.
most look better in real. I understand that fewer will be watching a heavy-set girl dance. But then the person really isn't there. It's a Puppet Show
People should know it's a filter. Everyone should be able to maintain a measure of anonymity.
6:35 The Scream lollll
Dude was so big not even the filter could contain him.
It's like a porcelain skin filter or something that gives you a doll face.
When you're Kim Jong's son, but you don't want anyone to find out.
It's sad that most girls/women and boys/men aspire to look like the filters and save up to get plastic surgery in Korea to try to Emulate It!

6:33 E.T. Phone Home.
No seriously, every woman so far looked better without the filter.
When Bros face doubled in width i died 😂😂

I've always wondered how European standards of beauty influence Chinese people
Ive seen one of the girls before. She sent me a request and i declined her. I could tell she was filtered

I think, for the most part, people look better in their natural state.
