- Shion has been gone for half a year and it has me wondering where she is. That being said I'm still grateful for what she's brought to the table and here is my love letter for her.

If I remember right, she should have just graduated college this year and had a sudden self realization that she spent most of her youth terminally online on top of being sensitive to criticism so she's taking this break to figure herself out and what she wants for her future.
It's not like she's been gone gone. She uploaded a Cover 2 months ago and showed up to Gura's Bday Live.

Lets be real anyone in Hololive has the privilege of not streaming and still be relevant and earn money as long as they attend Hololives Biggest events like Holofest.

Well, as You said, they still habe their Idol schedule, so, she must be going to dance lessons, recording, vocal lessons and other events and planning, She's just not streaming like other girls have done before. If it help to her mental health, good.
@@blazarjenius which proves that the amount of money cover Corp gets from each talent is so big just from the talents IP alone that even if the they don't stream both the company and the talent still earn too much money.
That's why it's difficult for the talent to leave cuz of how much free money they get
@@squalleonkeneddyheart4191 well, you can't say it's "free money" because they earned and worked hard to be on this spot and she's still working, just in other areas, just not streaming. Their main job is being idols now, so, it's sounds lame to say that they're receiving free money.

@@squalleonkeneddyheart4191 Still, a job is a job, even if she put more or less than anyone else, she's doing it and earning her money, so its not "free". When GEN2 came out, things weren't that easy either. But whatever, everyone has their own opinions i just don't like the phrasing.

Dude I just saw this after the recent Aqua's post and I don't know what to think.
Don't worry: It seems that her hiatus is unrelated to Aqua's imminent graduation, and just yesterday she made her return (actually, there are suspicions that she decided to return right now, just to be able to be present at Aqua's graduation and then return to hiatus again....but I don't think that's the case, because otherwise it would have made more sense to do as Haachama did with Coco, who officially remained in hiatus, but was still present on the day of her graduation). From what I understood, Shion was simply very stressed and needed some time for herself and to evaluate what she wanted to do in her future. Even her manager advised her to be careful and never reach the point where her "passion" for streaming becomes a "job" (even if today it is easy for that to happen, given that Cover's rules have changed compared to years ago, due to the exponential growth of the Hololive brand and have now become significantly more restrictive on everything, including the freedom of talents on what to stream, given that they now must first talk with the management and obtain their permission, to be able to stream something). It's probably the same problem that also afflicted Aqua, and that led her to decide to graduate (NOT the only problem, eh... but probably one of them).

Shion-chan my favorite from Holo Gen 2. Love her design and her singing voice! Definitely around my favorite singers in Hololive.
And her performances on stage are so great to watch! She will have her reasons and I just hope she is doing fine and takes cares of herself.

Haachama was gone from right after 4thFES in March '23 till December of '23; all we know for sure is that she got really sick with either the flu, covid, strep throat or something similar and thought she'd gotten over it right before the FES, only to basically pass out backstage after her & Ollie's song and get taken to the hospital.. why that turned into a 9 month hiatus though, we really have no idea..
Shion said in her last stream back in December of last year that (this is mentioned in another comment above too) she finished college in the last semester of '23 and had hit a sort of "early mid-life crisis".. She was actually hired at the age of 17, while still in High School (she is the last time COVER would ever hire a minor, btw) and has gone through her whole senior year and all of college as a professional VTuber; but now that she's got a degree and lots of options, she had a crisis of sorts about what kind of long-term career she really wants. She didn't indicate she was thinking of graduating, but she might be considering becoming more like Ayame or (to a degree) Gura and be more irregular with her streaming content, or just change up her image or... who knows? We just have to be patient.
