Thanks drdit, Ranger really is a fantastic companion....and not at all spoilled 😉 And yes, cant wait for spring and the parks to open! Here’s hoping the vaccinations arrive by then and we can resume ‘regular camping’. Until then stay safe and keep well.
Thanks Dan. Not getting to Onaping is my one regret from our visit to Halfway - I understand it’s beautiful and was a favourite spot for a few famous artists.
We did Chutes, Superior, Grundy last September. Great trip. Agawa Bay is a must see, gorgeous. Just booked Killbear for August. Thanks for the vid. I'm all fired up for 2021
Thanks MOT, really glad to hear you feel the same way about Superior/Agawa as we do. Killbear is another great park but some weeks its 700+ sites can be busy - I think in part as its not too far a drive from the Toronto area. We try to book a site with some privacy or in the radio free campgrounds when we're there. Hope you enjoy it!!!
It really is a beautiful hike - and really glad you also enjoyed it! Everytime we visit LSPP I look forward to doing that hike again. Thanks for your feedback!
Yes, each stop was prebooked on the Ontario Parks website. Some of the parks do a better job than others providing useful pictures of each site that you can view in the oN Parks reservation system and each site has a ‘description’ section that gives rough size, privacy and sun/shade ratings as well as other pertinent details such as adjacent to body of water or proximity to washrooms. Hope his helps. Happy camping!
Hi MikeJamesAlt, actually the trailer is a 26RBWS. This floorplan works really well for us but the trailer does have a hefty tongue weight. To help the Ram cope we added Timbrens. They do stiffen the ride when hooked to the trailer but really helped reduce any squatting. If you have a Ram, and coil spring suspension, they are really worth considering
I also should have noted that the truck has a factory installed brake controller, 3.92 rear end (with increased tow capacity), and upgraded tires with a higher load capacity.
Ok, thanks for your reply. We have the airlift 1000 installed. I’m impressed how far you tow your rig. We generally stay within a 200-300 km radius. We’re apprehensive to tow that far North with a 28’. It’s relatively light (6500 dry and 8500 gvw) but tall and long. The 401 is the big hurdle we want to avoid.
@@mikejamesalt I completely understand. The first time we headed out on a long trip I was very apprehensive - but the Ram did a great job. We never tow at a speed more than 100 km/ hr ( particularly to protect the trailer tires) and we are always cognizant of our stopping distances. The truck performance has been great and the on board monitors let you keep an eye on all temps. We have also installed tpms on the trailer which has increased our peace of mind.
Sorry, one other thing - completely understand your concern re the 401. I hate towing on it too - so many drivers have no clue as to the challenges you’re dealing with. It may be worth considering alternate routes, like hwys 2 or 7? It may make a 1 day journey into a 2 day journey, but getting there is half the fun!
Hi Peter, in most cases generators are allowed unless they are deemed a disturbance. If they are run sparingly and are not to intrusive, you should be fine. Leaving one running all day to run a rigs AC could potentially draw complaints if sites are close together. My recommendation is to remember most campers want to enjoy the peace and nature provided by provincial parks and to be strategic in the use of a generator.
Thanks Ilka, Lake Superior has the most amazing beaches - but huge caveat - that is as long as you don't intend to swim. The water is very cold and only the heartiest (i.e. my wife, not me) seem to spend much time in the chilly crystal clear waters. Having said that, you can spend hours a day searching for the prettiest or most colourful agates that line the shoreline. If its warmer waters and sandy beaches you seek, Sandbanks, Presqu'ille and Pinery are popular. Others may have better suggestions but we have enjoyed those park's beaches on a warm summer day. Happy camping!
It was great to meet you both at the Algonquin Visitor Centre this afternoon. Looking forward to your future videos. Safe travels.
Mike and Anita.
Thanks so much Mike, it was wonderful meeting you as well! And thank you for your kind comments. Safe travels and happy camping!
Your dog is about the cutest ever. Nice pics, I can't wait for the season to get here again.

Onaping Falls is a great hike and close to Halfway Lake. Great Video

Thanks for sharing. We are hoping to do some of these parks next year!!!
Thanks Lorri, hope you enjoy Superior as much as we do.
Happy camping!
Sand river is 100% worth the walk. We got an epic family photo on one the flat rocks at min 7:13 of your video

Did you have to prebook each stop? How did you handle that? Really enjoy your videos.

Hi! Is your trailer a 27BHWS? Just curious how it pulls the trailer and if you've done any modifications to your truck.

The big question is did you get any Apple fritters from the voyager
No....and by the sounds of it Im guessing we missed something tasty!?!
Having trouble booking sites with electricity. they are all booked up. are on board generators permitted in provincial parks

What site were you on at halfway lake
Thanks
Hi Chris, we were on site 71. Hope this helps.
Hi, thank you sharing the videos, can you tell me about the best parks with beaches for kids. Thanks
