  • Stand-up comedian Katerina Vrana talks about stereotypes and makes us all believe that the reason that they are funny is that they are true. This 16 minutes performance has everything; from humor, inconvenient truths and family secrets, to the actress's plan for global domination. One thing is for sure: it will make you laugh wholeheartedly.
Katerina Vrana was born and raised in Greece. She went to study in the UK and stayed there. As an actress, she has appeared in TV series in Greece, stage productions in London and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, as well as in short films in both Greece and the UK. As the well-known London arts magazine, Time Out, once reported "Katerina Vrana sparkles" on stage.

"I try to balance out not to feel foreign in two countries"
As an immigrant who has spent half his life in a foreign country I can definitively say that is not possible. Unfortunately that's what happens: at a certain point you realize that you've lost your old home, but you've not gained a new one.

It is the same to me at least in my same country, that person which grew up in small town almost in village and started studies, job in capital. After living in capital, I felt exactaly like I feel not a part of capital, and it is not my soul home, I do not feel belonging there, but when I return to my little town-village I also do not feel like a same province girl like before. Strange feeling. 😅

In Nigeria (where I come from) the rain is like turning your shower setting to massage but outside and everywhere you go but in England you can barely feel it. It takes like a few minutes to get soaked through but like back home the second you go outside you are soaked through.

I'd laugh if someone made a joke about my death too. But I doubt those who love me would. Your obviously using the word 'loved' very lightly. There are people who love him, even though he's gone. That's called loss. Loss, If you've experienced it, is hard to laugh at.
