Incredible video! I’ve been cubing for over a decade, and have been to over a dozen competitions, and this just gave me the feeling of starting all over again PS: 24K views this quickly on a channel as new as yours, in a topic as niche as cubing, is absolutely incredible, congrats!
That last place speedcuber is actually my mom! She loves your video and is more than happy to occupy that last place spot for you 😉 It was her first competition as well!
This is a really awesome video about a first time competitor’s experience. It’s so interesting to see a new cuber that isn’t a little kid, I was 13 when I started and 15 when I went to my first competition and was still a little kid back then. I’m almost 23 now, have been cubing for 9 and a half years, kinda hit a brick wall as far as improvement goes, but it never gets old for me. I hope you enjoyed your first competition and I hope you decide to keep improving, and even branch out into the different WCA events such as big cubes, megaminx, and more. I’m also looking forward to seeing your speedcubing journey continue on UA-cam!
Bro this is the highest quality content i have ever seen from someone with 1k subs and i mean that in the most uplifting way possible keep grinding like this and the sky’s the limit
The best part of competitions has to be the amount of friends that you can make, I’ve been to 7 competitions so far and I’ve made like 30 good friends and also getting to know one of the best 2x2 solvers in the world Emanuel Schelin
The fact that I know half the cubers I see in this comment section is insane. I've always said that the cubing communiy is extremely passionsate, wholesome and great at welcoming people.Even I felt great watching this video
Dude, as a person that has just gotten an average solve time of sub 1 minute, i can understand what you went though. Good luck on your cubing journey, as i am myself. Also, you are really under-raided, wish you well! P.S: I haven't even been to a competition yet so you've done more lol
As someone who averages about 11 on the 3x3, your improvement was mental - I took about a week to learn it and after 7 days I wasn’t even under 1:30 😭 Also I wish I had been to competitions earlier (so far I’ve been to 10 and my first one was after half a year of cubing)
Good job, we all started there and then got addicted. Looks like Stanley Chapel was there too, he's a world class solvers too in blind events. (removed comment about using your palms at the end of the solves in the video).
Amazing video! Glad to see it looks like you've enjoyed your cubing competition. Best of luck on your cubing journey. Cheers to hopefully more cubing pb's/pr's!
Just saying hi since the algorithm put this on my front page. The editing and cinema pages put are amazing. Judging from the finished video quality, I would’ve guess you have 400k subscribers instead of 400. Keep up the great work, and enjoy cubing!
Why did i think you had at least 10k before and while watching this, how do you not even have 300, the best cubing video o have seen in a while. New sub, hopefully this goes viral. Awsome video 😎
I hope you go to another one. After my first I got hooked. Now I'm registered for my 65th and 66th competitions. I didn't learn until college and didn't compete until 10 years after I learned because I had no clue competitions existed.
4:25 just a little terminology correction. The stop watch is the thing the judge has on his hands. What you use to time is called the "timer". Trust me, I have been to 8 comps before
@@AndrewPokornik Apparently yes, each group will get the same scrambles, I'm guessing they get them in a random order. Tbf, I've only entered a couple of comps, never helped out behind the scenes
@@nicholascrow8133 I’m pretty sure each stage gets the exact same conditions and the order isn’t changed, this makes it so that it is a fair competition. Otherwise someone could get lucky while someone else could get unlucky.
@@AndrewPokornik everyone in the same group gets the same 5 solves in the same order. Different groups do get different scrambles tho. Once I was scrambling for 2x2 and the whole solution was a single sune. Because of different scrambles, I didn't compete with that scramble, but everyone on that group did, exactly on the 5th solve of the fastest group.
7:10 just a friendly tip: PLEASE don’t touch the cube until you have signed the card… touching the cube is an automatic +2 second penalty. Not everyone follows this rube but if you make it a habit you will always grt +2’s at nationals and continental championsips.. wang yiheng got his 3.27 Wr2 DNF’d cuz he picked up the cube he just solved and started turning it… you really need to watch out fox that
Nerd garrett is outrageous
Awesome video!
Hi Luk carrot

It was fantastic watching you at the competition, thanks man!

Welcome to the community! I have now been to around 50 competitions. Once you start you want to go to them all!

Good stuff! I'm the guy that won the race against Nathan lol
7:09 casually DNFs the solve by moving the cube before signing, and no one even notices.. Great video tho!
i was about to comment the same thing.
The regulations state that he can’t touch the cube until after the judge has inspected the cube, not signed the scorecard.
If you get more than 5k views you have to do another competition video
we’ll see about that 👀

omg this was so well made!! You should fs keep cubing

you are allowed to stop the timer with your palms, but you have to start it with your fingers
Ok, I read the regulations, indeed they don't say fingers but just hands (palms down) for stopping, good to know.
Awesome video man! Keep up the great work!
realy good video it felt like i was watching a 1m subs channel but it was 600 your very underated man

Don’t worry man at your first competition you were against Nerd Garett. I was against fast park his pr is 3.13
That end is Absolute Cinema
As a sub 20 cuber it’s alway nice to see these kinda vids
Wait at 7:09 after solving he move the cube which is against the wca regulations😅
the judge had seen the cube
Also illegal sliding. Banned
Yo keep making these videos this is awesome :)
Wow, great video. I thought you were some youtuber with like 800k subs lol.

Holy crap Isaac that ending
luke the goat 💪
you did really well!

Did you use beginner’s for the competition?
Yeah looks like it. Interesting with the RUL finish but overall the video was solid.
I like seeing people start to solve Rubik’s cubes.
this is way too underrated
Tell me why I started crying at the end

Thanks for being in the interview my man 👊
You have some potential you should keep practising and you’ll get so much faster

Wait, he doesn’t have 1k subs!? I thought he had like 100k 😂
Were you solving with cfop or beginners method
7:07 he DNF'd (touched the cube)

It's not true though, it's prohibited to touch the cube before the judge inspects it, not before you sign.
ya I was doing that in round one because I kept zoning out after the solves. I stoped doing it later in the day though.
