I’m m new to sewing so I don’t have a “stash” or anything like that built up but I’m completely addicted to grabbing these little guys. Since the closest quilt shop is over 65miles away I usually buy online so it’s a great way to see all the prints in a line and to feel them before I commit to buying a larger amount. Thank you for this great tutorial on how to use some up. I’m going to be making a lot of these!!!

Look online and you can see how many squares you get from 1/4 yard...etc. and can save yourself some money. If you buy from the same fabric line...you cannot go wrong. 😀

good idea problem is after I pay $10 a yd for fabric I break out in a cold sweat when I pick up the rotary blade and have to figure out how to cut it. I’m seriously that new. I should probably just buy some cheap fabric and practice. I actually have a question if I could , I have bought Moda or Riley Blake and it’s nice and soft it said 100% cotton then I bought a quilt kit it also said 100% cotton but it feels slick or”sli-dy” almost like spandex would feel. Do you know why the difference in feel?

great size for taking in the car for the carseat........and adding another border could easily size it up a little more- 36 inch square is also a great size for a baby

In the film “Groundhog Day” the quilt they used was this pattern but smaller pieces. It was lovely. Seemed to be postage stamp size perhaps.
I remember pausing that movie to admire and study that quilt.
This is wonderful! I have extra charm pieces and 2 1/2 strips in my stash that would be perfect for this and turn it into a wonderful quilt with sashings
I would make this a panels and sew together for a larger quilt... colors are perfect as well.

Kim I was thinking the same thing so I drew a pattern on graph paper using 5" charms and Laura's measurements. I will have a nice lap quilt.

Just came across this video. I love the pattern and would love to make a quilt for my sister using 5 1/2 squares. I just don’t know how much background fabric to get, and the measurements for each row. Is that doable? Thank you.

Why buy a mini charm pack when you can make one from scraps from other projects. This seems to me as such a waste of money as we are all trying to use our scraps why buy more scraps.
Little Urban Homestead - I have a few of these that I’ve gotten as bonus items in an order or quilting box subscription, so I’m thrilled to see a suggestion for how to use one. It’s a great stashbuster idea for leftovers from jellyrolls also.
I am thrilled that you can use these extras that they put in your quilting box. or leftover jelly rolls. I might do the same but my jelly rolls (or charm squares) are from leftover yardage from previous projects, therefore no expense.
Little Urban Homestead I actually like them because they are all coordinating fabrics. Since I am color challenged the pre-cuts work perfect for me.
I have a foot in both camps but as I don’t have a mini charm pack I was forced to cut up my treasured Kaffe Fassett leftovers into my own mini charm pack.
