My mom had the pleasure of meeting him too just 2 days before he died, & she adored him. She saw him singing at a place & because she was the ONLY woman not going crazy over him, he came down & asked my step dad if he can meet my mom & buy her a drink, of course my step dad said sure. When she heard he died 2 days later she was like your kidding me, & said that was a day it seemed like the world stopped (of course that was before 9/11) but she said rock & roll died. Also you mentioned Frankie "Ol Blue eyes, my real dad knew him, I was blown away I didn't believe him until I saw the pictures. I also found out through ancestry & family tree were related too Chris Farley, Clark Gable, & my so called mother &law was related to Robert Oppenhiemer, the man who patented the atom bomb.
I completey forgot I know Elvis cousin, Terry Presley too, he was at my mom's funeral because he knew my mom & also my aunts when they were in their teens, I honestly thought when I saw him he was just another Elvis impersonator, he came up to me & hugged me & said I'm so sorry for your loss Tamara & I was even blown away he knew my name, my Aunt told me hunny this is Elvis cousin, Terry, I was like yeah right, & he pulled out pics of them as kids & I asked how they even knew each other let alone be at my mom's funeral & they both said we knew each other in our teens & have always kept in touch. The thing that surprised me the most is my mom & aunt's never ever mentioned to me they knew him, or other older singers they knew like Dusty Springfield too. Talk about a small world.
Every time you post, I can't help but watch right away. It's like we're best friends and I'm obligated to watch them! Not that I don't enjoy your videos, I love them a lot.
i just really love it when you upload. i'm going through a really rought time right now and just watching your videos just calms me down and takes my mind off things
I was really happy when you mentioned that you listened to classical music a lot! Me too and I love to listen Gymnopédie and others composers. If you haven't listened to the piece "Debussy - Arabesque" i recommend it to you, it makes you feel calm and relaxed (sorry for my bad english xD)
You have good taste in music kid.I dont know why, but I like watching you ramble..I work security desk at a mental health facility..LOL..You seem more "Normal" than myself.
Pink Floyd is like the best music to chill you out. Their music has the ability to make me feel like I'm under the influence when I'm sober. lol seriously though that band is one of the best classic rock groups.
I love Frank Sinatra’s song strangers in the night, I heard it in the movie license to drive and I just fell in love with it! Also do you know the song cattle call by Eddie Arnold, it’s one of my favorite songs
That's awesome brother that you love jazz too, jazz is honestly probably my most favorite too. Listening to Billie holiday Columbia vol 6 while watching your video. I love Billie holiday, the Boswell sisters, Frances Langford, astrude Gilberto to name a few but for real Billie holiday her voice tops it all for me her phrasing an just way she goes about things is very elegant an sweet in a way I don't know if I'm explaining it right but you get it since you listen to her.
Last year, I was diagnosed with schizophrenia. I had always loved Aphex Twins work with the exception of drukQs. I couldn't get into it because I didn't understand it. It seemed as if RDJ's intent was to mash up as many unpleasant noises as possible with absolutely zero consideration for the listener. To quote a review, "what is it for?!" Fast forward to today and its my #1 favorite album. At first, I loved Avril 14th only. But then something clicked. I could finally make it through a listening of St Michaels Mount with changing the song! I began to appreciate every song - all the music made sense to me. DrukQs is like an experiment; if the worlds best painter worked with the worlds most hated colors, could a masterpiece still be achieved? That answer is up to you. But in my world, it's the album I judge all other albums by. And while its difficult to compare apples to oranges, it's more difficult to compare apples to gold. One may feed you, but the other makes you wealthy and allows you to consume anything you desire, although you won't want anything else with extended appreciation. DrukQs is the only album I enjoy today. It keeps my thoughts from racing and becoming bored. It's an album made by a god for a world that doesn't exist. It comes from another planet and brings along with it a million more emotions to experience.
Music that helps me during my dark times, I'm not schizophrenic mind you, I'm bipolar, which incidentally has allot of overlapping symptoms with schizophrenia, but that aside, when I'm going through a dark time I listen to stuff like Fredric Chopin, Vivladi, Beethoven, Massive Attack Jefferson Airplane, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Immortal Technique, Nas, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Hot Action Cop(they're so bad that they're good, I listen to them for comedic reasons), Lil Jon(again so bad that he's good, I listen to him to laugh at him), so basically when I'm down I listen to allot of light and positive music, or music that has depth and meaning hence Immortal Technique and Nas. Sometimes listening to heavy and dark music helps too because of the adrenaline release.
if you love older country def check out Colter Wall(his new self titled I think you'll LOVE if like older country,at least check out song Me & Big Dave),Paul Cauthen(sounds like cross of Elvis & Cash),Sturgill Simpson(newest album best of last year),Tyler Childers(just discovered this guy),Chris Stapleton,Margo Price
if getting into hip hop, check out Saul Williams album "Amethyst Rock Star",he's on another level, def not your usual rapper,.mentinoning Kendrick, the jazz sounding parts on Kendrick's "To Pimp A Butterfly" album were by Kamasi Washington,he's an amazing new jazz artist(well been around about 10 years, but just now getting noticed on larger scale)
Your stream last night was great, Jacob. Since getting out the hospital and not being able to work or go to school I have been getting so restless. But last night I had a blast, and didn't feel so lonely. I'm on nightshift mode now cause I stay in bonny Scotland 😎 but yeah, thankyou. I can't wait til the next one :)
Gymnopedies by Erik Satie, good choice! I also recommend his other series called Gnossienes. Also recommend Niccolo Paganini, Frederic Chopin, and especially Tchaikovsky. Cheers!
I totally agree about the country music and difference between, like I would rather listen to Randy Travis rather Luke Bryan just because Randy Travis is an older country music singer and most of the country music today is more like country rock.
It was a very good year great song, when I was a kid and I hadn't seen Robert plant yet, I though a whole lotto love was a black soul lady. Way back in time people used to drive down the street with a whole lotto love playing loud out of their cars, everywhere you went you would here that song playing. Yeh I would here the song on the radio and think there is that black lady screaming again. I don't like that song. But when I got older of course it was no surprise Jimmy page and all and then came the stairway to heaven. Yeh there were two paths to go and in the long run I knew it was ROCK AND ROLL! Love rock now.
You have a good taste in music my brother we be listening to the same stuff I love old country too when it was good like you said, today's stuff is just wack man haha.
listen to sergey rakhmaninov's third concerto or if you like polyphonic sound shnittke concerto grosso #1 is beautiful. also there's edward grig, i personally like sviridov's "metel'" the most but it has very "russian" sound. classical music is ALL about sound and epoch, from hayden to tchaikovsky, from tchaikovsky to zimmerman. i can suggest you something if you "set some parameters" or smth.
Also, I neglected to mention I'm a big Johnny Cash and Pink Floyd fan myself, I'd listen to anything except country and Irish traditional music because it all sounds the same and it''s an insult to my country. Some of the more hardcore music I listen to which actually helps would be the likes of Screamerclauz, Static X, Korn, System of a Down, Atari Teenage Riot, Velvet Acid Christ, Combichrist, Chelsea Wolfe(tho most of her songs are mellow, if haunting, but her heavy stuff is quite heavy),Ophidian, Mobthrow, and Angerfist, I also find that trance music helps, it's very spiritual music if you close your eyes and let the music bring you on a journey. I would like to recommend a book too, now bear in mind I don't believe in god, however I hate to label myself as an atheist because most atheists are hypocrites they become the thing they hate, preachy and judgemental, I happen to think religion is a beautiful thing, in that each religious book has positive messages in them, which I apply to my life, but the best religious text I read was the Tibetan Book of the Dead, it was an eye opener and it changed my life for the better, but then again Buddhism is more of a philosophy, and one Buddhist thing I really respect is, when science contradicts something they believe in, they change their beliefs in accordance with science, because they view science as a tool that helps humanity and therefore it must be respected, it is one of the most peaceful books I read, it helped me when I was at my worst. You're a good soul man, you deserve the best that life has to offer, so you always must do what is right for you, you must live your life in a way that makes you happy, and you must share that joy and wisdom with people, which you already do I wish you the best, you are wise beyond your years, and you have yourself a new subscriber, actually I subscribed yesterday, and I've watched a good few of your videos, but this is my second time commenting on one of your videos. Stay strong, and stay positive, and enjoy this tragic gift that is life, it's a once in a life time experience, make the most of it, and never take anything for granted, everything is a gift to be cherished, and when tragedy strikes always remember that their is a lesson to be learned from that tragedy, it might take time to figure that lesson out, but there always is ones, there are always positives to every situation no matter how dire the situation is.
I just waited for this video. :-) it is so cool to know that there are so much people who listen to good music and not to this shit on the radio or on tv ...
Corpse Don't you think it's unfair to judge others look without even showing your own face? But you're probably just an insecure teen, so I can understand why you wouldn't do it. Ok I'm not going to start a fight there, so yeah, bye 😄

I used to hate acdc but then heard there one song back in black and rocked the fuck out!
Do you like Iron Maiden? Defenders of the Faith is hands down their best album.
Take a listen to 'Clair de Lune' by Debussy, and 'Comptine d'un autre été' by Yann Tiersen. Two essentials of any classical repertoire.
is that a skyrim Map I see in the back?XD
You have a good taste in music my brother we be listening to the same stuff I love old country too when it was good like you said, today's stuff is just wack man haha.
