One time during a game i did like a lung thing and slid across the floor, bumping the ball to my teammate and slamming my face into the ground. One of the brackets on my braces broke off but hey, I guess it was worth it because it was our winning point! :)
The ball is in play until it hits the floor. If it hits on the court then the point goes to the team on the other side from where it landed, so if one team makes a successful spike and the ball lands on the opposing teams half of the court, then the point goes to the team that made the spike. If the ball goes out, then the point goes to the team that didn't touch the ball last. that's why they crossed the court, because they're team touched it last so if it landed out then they would have lost that point

Nobody ever notices how hard it is to play middle, it takes a lot of energy even though you're only on the court for half the time
