    A lot of you guys are downing this guy for doing this but if this is his way to purchase a truck then good its not always about getting paid from the get go, if his business is stepup to run this way then he's good, when he's done with lease he has a truck that can run on his authority, can stay there, lease on another company, with no debt, so keep on and focus on the end game.

    Man I'm talking with US now and I have to say, as a retired driver thinking of getting back into it? Last time I drove, Aug 2017, I was a o/o; owned, not leased. Told lease operators make between 1200-1550$ a week after everything taken out. I'm use to bringing home anywhere from $3000-$6000 a week- gross. If I go back, guess Ill go back as a company. Other comments are correct. You bring home some, company gets the most. Wait until you actually own the truck. Pay check is going to change dramatically! Also, look into hiring a authority. Much cheaper then company dispatch. Other then that, very informative video. Stay safe driver

    You say the truck payment is a little bit over $500, fine however, what about your insurance payment? What about your tax? Your tag? All of your permits? The people I work for take my truck payment out every week which is about just over $500 a week. But they also take out the insurance for my truck, bobtail insurance, the rental fee from my computer, the rental fee for the equipment that I use(flat bed equipment) Of course I'm sure you're over all fee might be less than mine but what about all that other stuff?

      I was thinking the same thing. I had a truck leased on with USX and it didn't last very long. You need at least 2.00 pm plus fuel and that is almost a break-even load. These companies fill new drivers with lots of BS. Most of them couldn't believe how good it use to be back in the 70s

    Bond Deposit - If you are still with the lease program at week 170 you start earning back $200 a week each week til the $5K is paid back, or if you leave before the 4 year lease term is complete. The $200 goes into an account so to say, and anytime after that once you leave whatever is built up will be given back to you.

  • @scottwest1813

    I was told, the reason for lease purchase, is a way to buy a truck. Is it the best way? I thought truck payments are weekly, around 900.00 a week. For a New truck. How 500-600 a month? You can't buy a car for that. If you pay off the Truck in 4 years, 900 a week payments, you will have a truck with over 600,000 miles on it. Will you get a Million Miles before major overhaul? I guess it's worth it, get it overhauled for 25-30 grand. Time will tell if it's worth it. At least you don't have to search for loads. Right?

  • @michaelscott5451
    @michaelscott5451 6 років тому +2

    One thing about the taxes. Good rule of thumb is to put straight 30 percent of your take home aside for taxes. In my experience you usually don't pay exactly 30, usually somewhere 24-26, but better to have it in the bank to be able to pay it in your quarterlies than to have to scramble and starve to make up for it. So for instance, your gross pay minus truck expenses is 2610.66. 30 percent works out to be 783.198. Myself I would have just rounded that up to 800 in case. Whatever the IRS doesn't take at the end of the quarter is what I would consider a "personal" bonus. So for anyone who is looking for answers to the pay, factoring in Gross wages minus truck expenses minus the taxes this driver would be looking at 1300 ish a week.

    You need to ask what the discount is for TA/Petro now that your driver you get the saving of like $50 or more if you fill up at TA/Petro its usually hire then Loves that $8 in points isn't going to be worth that saving plus the showers are nicer at TA's, petro's are ok. But you should Check a Dealer ship cause that bond is just a down payment basically they call it what ever but if your paying that payment for 4 or more years you would pay over 50k more then that truck is worth without the extra mileage fee's and whatever else they are charging you! I would save up a deposit and go buy my own and go to Landstar, Mercer or after 3 years Traveloko pays 86% load pay which is usually $2.39 -$3 a mile but can be higher. On the discount you want see it on the receipt or we didn't it would show up on the charge to the fuel card is how we noticed Learned but watch trucker brown and loshawn fuel up!

      stay away from load boards, you will become too picky and that hurts you. it did me. They dispatch but it is not forced dispatch. Its best to accept anything they offer so you keep the truck running. If you get too picky like I did at Universal Am Can on percentage pay with load boards you wont make much. Because you will be like that too sucking on rate, meanwhile you wait for something better to come but it never does, next thing you know your sitting for several days. So I learned my lesson there.

    Ok so if you add the taxes up at 30%, that's $1200 and that's just for federal. Then you have social security, Medicare and state taxes if you live in a state that charges income taxes. So out of your $2600 take home, you pay your truck payment and taxes. That doesn't leave you with very much money. It way more worth it to just be a company driver

      Wow I’m following you on UA-cam and was just about to ask this question.. Prime allows you to do lease program straight out of training after you finish 20,000 miles which is like 2 months

    Dude no offense but you’re not too intelligent are you. On two loads you need to subtract that $500 sign on bonus because you’re not gonna get that every week. And why would someone sit straight up in their seat for 34 hours because that’s what it seems like you’re doing waiting to takeoff. You need some social guidance
