- OK, you talked me into it. Let's look at the 4 layers of muscles in the plantar foot (the sole) and see if we can work out what all of these muscles are. And the odd tendon.

You taught this 10000X better than my clinical anatomy prof, thank you so much!
Truer words haven't been said☺️☺️
Seriously he goes in depth but also keeps it concise.
100,000,000 times better than mine 😅
You taught this to human beings rather than some instructors who seem to be teaching to robots! Thank you so much!
you're funny man,i'm learning a lot from you.May God richly bless you!
bro he is saying we have evolved from monkeys her doesn't believe in god🤣
His funniness is the best part of his series
This makes way more sense than how they taught it in my class. Thank you so much, these videos are amazing!

Sam you are the best! Funny, educative and interisting all at once! Thank you so much for that
Thanks so much, Sam! Fantastic, informative videos that make understanding complicated anatomy very achievable! You are making our lives as physio students at Brunel so much easier. It's as if you knew we had an anatomy of the lower limb exam coming up in a couple of weeks! Keep them coming.
starts at 5:19, but everything beforehand is still worth watching :)
These videos will make the difference for me attending University some day in the future when I am well again... Thank you so much! 👍
Omggg you saved my drowning soul!!!!😂😂😂
I have exam tomorrow and I hadn't got this
Topic through my thick skull 😂😂😂(cause you never recorded a video about it)
Thank you so muchh sir
Please tell us how we can show our love and gratefulness to you >
I'm glad that it helped. See if you still remember it in 6 months time! That's the trick.
I love this man and how he tries to help understand the foot stuff with understandin....humor check in.
Absolutely find the feet so interesting out of the whole body !
Ur channel is the absolute best like I watch ur videos before studying it really helps a lot thanks!
Small correction: you said 5th metatarsal at 21:33, but fib. longus attaches the base of 1st metatarsal
Came here to say this. I had to double watch that part. I think this mistake was said earlier in the video as well.
8:59 plantar fasciitis is also caused by bad/old footwear. For example, heeled footwear that provides "technology" that is supposed to help with fitness, running, etc., but instead provides an imbalance in the foot leading to the heel pain described by Sam
I just have to say, I have watched many videos and I always come back to yours. You explain everything so perfectly, so THANK YOU!!
Very good at explaining, should be watched with repeated efforts! Good work Sam!
Thank you this was a really tricky topic for me. Just want to say I'm a huge fan of your videos watched a lot of them. so keep doing it.also hoping you could make a video on ankle joint and it's ligaments like spring ligament.
There's a bit of bone stuff here: ua-cam.com/video/G61SAnS9jhA/v-deo.html
But yes, I should add the ligaments to my to do list.
incomparable, exceptional video
Thanks teacher... Great explanation.. Waiting for the next video
I would like to transition to wearing barefoot shoes. I am stunned by the beautiful complexity of the sole of our feet. I wish we wouldn't torture this amazing structure that supports us with putting them into the prison of badly shaped shoes.
Thank You once again for your extrordinary illustration I watch as many videos that I can find. Everyday I'm learning more and more. Thanks Again Happy New Year
I tend to like your videos on whole. Isn't it insane that you can get planter fasciitis from both being over active as well as under active?
I love this guy.
Adduction and abduction in toes is very important when gripping for stability when our feet are in their natural form, which we rarely use these days, which is barefooted. This ability is not just weak in most, but non existent. Infact most people that I come across are flat footed these days. Their entire foot is complacent.
Your videos are so helpful for my exam study
Thank you👍
thanks
your teaching is the best! Thank you so much
Thank you again Mr Sam Webster Wonderful Presentation. Love your shows. I learn so much from them.
Thank you. Big time. Excellent video like always.
Thank you so much!!
@10:45 regarding treatment, barefoot bush walking as rolling the foot on tree branches, logs, fallen ‘rolling pin’ sized branches, rocks are great too
@8:45 plantar fasciitis may be linked to heel running, as opposed to natural bare-foot running that uses the front pad of the foot and the heel never touches the ground.
Sam, could the 'strange quadratus' muscle in the foot be also a function for postural stability?
These videos are fantastic and you're a great teacher. Thank you for taking the time to post these!
What if the plantar fascia has disappeared? What if fatty tisue has disappeared? How would the foot function then? Could it function?
That was really helpful sir..thank you
You made it so much easier to understand. Thank you.
Plantar fasciitis too often generalize diagnosis.
The orientation of these multiple foot bones and there mobility often cause the pain. Really looking at the differential objective findings you ll figure out the issues. Weight is not such a issue at foot wear , any macro or micro trauma and absorption of forces upon the foot
Dr Brad
I didn't notice I put this on 1.25x and I wondered if you just had a looot of coffee before this.
Why would the system name a part of the foot the term neurosis,?
Great videos. But about the music... It seems somber, introspective, maybe foreboding. Why this choice? Is it related to your weather there?
Maybe!
you're simply the best
Make one for the muscle orientation around the scapula and pelvic bone plis
Does anybody knows where could I buy the foot models shown in this video?
Deep respect for the model maker, the foot, and its designer.
Came just in time. Please do the other muscles of the foot and talk about chiasma plantare and chiasma crurale!
I've just recorded a bit about the dorsal muscles. I forgot the chiasma bits because I never mention them normally - I'll try to remember to annotate them when I'm editing it!
@@SamWebster Good, these chiasmas seem to be important for doctors in Germany for some reason !
This didn't fit with this week's video. I'll do an extra, super-short one just for these two terms.
I love this guy...😄
Great video! very informative
Sir you are soo cool.i wish you will be my teacher of anatomy.Your teaching method is fantastic.i am a huge fan of your teaching method.Thank you....❤️❤️🥰🥰
Sir kindly make video on muscles of neck
Thank you for this video. I'm really struggling with the muscles of the foot 🙉🙏🏽💜🖖🏾
These videos are just superb. I haven't seen a better anatomist in years than this guy. Good job, mate.
My fave anatomy teacher on the web. LOVE the humour. Re the lumbricals and piano players (i am one)...some folks play instruments with the feet so...just sayin'...I think I will now never forget lumbricals as associated with worms :) Thank you for all you do in teaching a subject that is usually handled with way too much dryness. :)
Legend! Thank you for these videos
You really made it simple to understand.
Thanks for your time sir.
God bless you.
Love those somso models, except they are so pricey....!
Just a small slip of the tongue i had to rewind to confirm - at about 21:35 you said the fibularis longus inserts into 5th metatarsal but you were pointing at and meant the 1st metatarsal.
This video is going to help students and even practitioners for years to come! Thank you for your videos. Cheers!
You’re a legend sir I love you so much
How can a runner dismiss the foot?
hello, any runner here? mind asking if u guys ever have "flexor hallucis brevis" problem(15:22)? i mean sometimes it aching like needles piercing through that part of muscle
Hi Sam, where did your institution buy this model of the foot? I can't find the one you use but I really like that one.
Hi, Sam, I love the videos because they are helping me so much. Could you please tell me where I could buy this anatomical foot as they are very different on amazon. Thank you in advance
We buy our models from Adam,Rouilly. Thanks!
@@SamWebster THANKS SO MUCH
You're amazing!! We're so grateful.
what do u mean by arches?????
Haha Thankyou so much. Loved it!
Awesome video man . One of the better breakdowns of muscles yet .
Thanks for your talk!! I was in serious head on m/v accident dec15/2017….. I was lucky to live.. unfortunately emergency didn’t find broken Calcaneus. Later found in MRI.. have had number of surgeries. First surgeon cut nerves to my foot.. screws and plate installed non-mending is what I’m dealing with.. Foot is a mess … Do you have video on Calcaneus? My life is hell with pain😡 Thank you
Yeah...let me add some good news about plantar fascists.
Learn about "walking backwards",... to get some eccentric exercises out of your feet.
Just try them for a week...then..." send me a fat check".
I won't hold my breath. Cheers.
Yeah. I have plantar fasciitis on right foot since 3 years is true, is indeed something chronic pain for long term.😢
Thank you so much it was really fun and helpful, i really love your videos
Anyone still believe in evolution after watching this video?
Sam, the little toe apposes the big toe in the sleeping, supine position. This is subconsciously known and it is possible to make this a conscious position/state. Basically it entails an entire ankle articulation in which the outside of the heel is the resting place for the foot when lying correctly on your back. The same muscle formation takes place in sleep with the foot as does with the fist of a young infant in sleep. In some people the phalenges will wrap around the big toe. But the force of the foot fist is in the ring toe and little toe expressing themselve up and over the heel at the back of the ankle. You laugh at suggesting this in your video saying you would hate to see this. How cute. Our bodies have neuro systems of balance and breath that you have not studied.
Thank you for all your vídeos they really helped me with my anatomy knowledge. Could you do a video about the nervous system please . Many thanks ❤
U r awesome man .lots of love ❤ 📚bcs I don't like to grasp anatomy without specimen ..😇here I gt all I want..aha 🤗
Thanks man!!!!!
It's helpful ♥️
Your Plantar fasciitis discription can be way better.. you have no imges and it's one of the top foot chronic conditions.. goodbye
hallo - where can i buy such a feet sample ?
You are brilliant. This helped me so much!
how do i fix mine, bro? it hurts to walk normally without overcompensating
Thank goodness for these videos.
Aim for Piano players on hand. Soccer players aim on foot for the shots on the ball
Thanks for your hard work.
Its my IPE today after 3 hours And I have understood the muscles of sole of foot this time😥😂
does anyone know what stops heal from lifting when starting to walk forward. instead the foot rolls to the lateral side.
Thanks, lovely explanation. 🍭🍎🍭
I'm just jealous of his students
If we evolved how and why does quadratus plantae exist only in the foot?
U r saving us♥️
Always thank you!!
from Korea ^^✌

In love with your teaching😭😭😭
This was so interesting. I've had foot pain deep in the sole of my feet for years and was great to see where all these muscles are located and also a bit about how to stretch them. They do so much work over a lifetime!
Can you kindly share the link to getting this foot model?
Esta muy despasktk por favor normal soy adulta 75 años no me agas esto por favor normal 🥲 😢
Pls do foot arches
I am quite excited. Great intro.
Kindly make more videos related to muscles
your videos are FUCKING GOLD!! thank you so much All hail King Webster!
