When someone says their childhood was in 2009 and that Pokemon platinum gives them nostalgia it really puts your age in perspective.
Fr. I just pulled out my game boy color and booted up Pokemon red 🥹
@@Retroactive93I had Blue and my brother had Red. Almost 30 years ago.😮💨
I beat myself up cause I remember going to toys r us as a kid and buying packs of Pokémon (base set) and using putting them in the back wheel of my bicycle to sound like a motorcycle. And yes, multiple holo charizards were included in the destruction
Wait til you hear which game gives me nostalgia…

Nah $4 in store credit or a button and a half eaten sandwich and .35¢ cash
@@UltimateViper lol 😆 😂 🤣
It's a steal tho. I sold mines with box and manuals for 150 on FB marketplace.
I'll never forget taking a stack of GameCube games to GameStop during the Wii era. They legitimately offered me 15¢ for Viewtiful Joe 😭
Always regret that I was desperate and from a low income family growing up and had to trade all my consoles and games in for pennies to afford new things. Didnt realize how bad I was scammed until I was older. Havent traded in since I got my first job
The guy who last owned the game had a Torterra. I approve.
I mean any solid grass/ground pokemon was a good choice in Diamond/Pearl considering the typing at the time
@@JoyBoyCoy Slight correction: Torterra was the only grass/ground type for 5 generations! The Toedscruel line changed that. Also, Torterra has many positive match-ups from the midgame all the way to Cynthia! It almost sweeps the water gym, destroys the electric gym, Bertha gets decimated. Torterra just does stuff.

Azure Flute was only obtainable through Action Replay iirc, but otherwise it’s always an interesting feel loading up someone else’s save. You feel like you’re not supposed to be looking at it😂
There was a legit event from Toys R Us for Diamond/Pearl/Platinum that gifted the azure flute.
@@taylorgustafson6316 nah bro, was a gift Arceus not the azure flute
Although now you can access it without an action replay, just connect to the internet and you can get all events through a fan server with no modifications
@Stix WRLD that was to go to the hall of original right. Yeah the only time it was obtainable in the game legit was in gen 8
You can get the event items without an action replay by changing your DS dns code and connecting to your phones Hotspot.

The best moment was me going into EB Games, as they were getting rid of all the 3DS games a few years ago, and I grabbed Fantasy Life used (which I had played and traded a couple of years earlier) and I got home with it and IT WAS MY COPY, SAVE FILE STILL THERE 🤣 👍
Bro no way what are the odds 😳🤯
The odds
Sorry to ruin your dreams but fantasy life is one of the only 3DS games that saves to the SD card. You'll always have your data with any cartridge. I've tested it myself.
@@hollowowlyt Okay, doesn't ruin my dreams 🤣 I did figure it would be the case as it's done with other 3DS Titles (Persona Q comes to mind, you can Save either on the Cart or SD Card) and it was incredibly unlikely it was the same copy anyway... Just a fun story to tell 🤷♂️
That’s wild. Ppl always come into my shop and see old things they’ve traded, and they’ll say, “oh that’s the one I traded my old one” sometime sun like “it’s prolly a diff one, unles that was like a few days ago” but sometimes I just let their imagination go, but also wonder, if I still have it, that means I have you money for nothing and I’m stuck with the item lmfao. Like a week ago a guy came in and pointed out a concerns bad fur day that I have on a wall with my personal collection, I put it up there because it actually didn’t work, we said to his friend, “ I sold them that years ago” lmfao, now I know exactally who sold it to me and it wasn’t him but I didn’t bother saying anything .also the guy who sold it to me actually bought the game from me and always comes in my shop, and he swapped it out for a broke one he had and sold it back to me, he hasn’t been back since but I’m gunna get him eventually lmfao.

@@BigShree the thing is with these old cartridges is the technology they used for it I believe it's anywhere between 3000-4000 saves and then it's dead permanently that's one point I will get to the next one in a little bit. Yes it is a real physical thing but the point of my comment is it's a old game and this isn't a fucking luxury product this isn't a Shelby Cobra or a more modern car that is also a luxury being a Pagani huayra the real Shelby cobras you could buy back in the day for to memory at one point for four thousand bucks now even if it has cracks in the aluminum you're looking at no less than $500,000 and Pagani huayra were cars that to memory brand-new sold for $1,000,000 now they have appreciated to point of being almost two million-dollar cars,
Those are products worthy of the appreciating price for gaming consoles and games in general something like the 3dio is more Worthy of a price hike because depending on the model they are really rare and the games are extremely common so that makes more sense than a Pokemon game that sold a few million copies
@@lostnemesisyou obviously don’t understand how supply and demand works. There is more people in the world now than when this came out and sold. And the demand is actually growing for the game thus why it is still selling for even more exuberant prices. All these poke tubers expose children to the games and then the kids who never had it growing up then in turn want it.
@@lostnemesis necro this comment, but the only pokemon games that used batteries for save files were the GB/GBC cartridges. Every single Pokemon game starting from Ruby/Sapphire onward saved to flash memory which gets powered by the console through the contact points, meaning your save files will NEVER "prematurely die" as you say. Also your numbers are way off, flash memory in the 2000's had well over 100k read/write cycles with micron announcing a 1 million read/write cycle SLC flash chip in 2008, the same year Platinum was released.
The dialga/palkia cries are pure nostalgia
The distortion world as a kid just hit different 😂
Facts 😂
Gosh I miss that nostalgia. I have Pearl but I have always wanted a copy of Platinum
Hearing that Giratina fight sound at night while hiding my ds from my parents would always be the scariest moment of my childhood
Now I understand why older people don’t feel old. When they experience shii like that they have this inner monologue: „Damn, I’m THAT old?! Where did the time go? Did I take my dementia pills?“.
But fun aside, I wanna leave some kind of advice here that a very old man told me. I asked him: Does life go faster and faster the older you get? He answered: Yes, it does. Especially when you get more and more responsibilities. BUT there is a way how slow time down. Visit new places, learn new things. Keep your head busy. Why does time feel way longer when you were a child? Because life was „new“. You were always learning and seeing new stuff. But the more experience you get, the less you have to learn.
I like how this guy is excited over some thing almost every single person I knew had
Azure flute was either action replay or got throught "homemade" gift which can be achieved with any cellphone to emulate event distribution

wish gamefreak would remaster all the ds/3ds/gba games for the switch since the gameboy line and ds line are all discontinued and are no longer manufactured thus forcing emulators to play the them
Imma need to see more of the actual cart, because GameStop does ZERO checks for authenticity, if you want authentic games, GameStop is not the place to go for DS carts.
It was announced earlier this month that internet connectivity with the 3DS will be ending in April 2024, but Pokemon Bank will continue to function for a little longer after this. Right now, I’m doing play throughs of all the previous Pokémon games so I can transfer them over.
i wouldn’t say that’s overpriced. that’s actually a fair price imo. all ds/3ds products were discontinued the INSTANT the switch came out. and the game is roughly 15 years old
A game from 15 years ago should not be more expensive than games that come out today, it is absolutely overpriced
@@IceYetiWins that’s like the whole point of a game becoming retro. the games aren’t made anymore. so logically they should be more expensive. cars work the same way. it just happens with video games faster
@@sourmintsowplays648 Yes but with ds games (especially pokémon) they are way more expensive than other games that came out around the same time. I could get an xbox 360 or ps3 games for like $10-15 or even some ds games for $10-20 but pokémon is much more expensive sometimes even getting into the hundreds.
@@IceYetiWins it really just comes down to the demand of the game. especially with pokemon the prices will fluctuate significantly. another factor would probably be that it’s nintendo. you can’t get the majority of their games on other consoles. meanwhile xbox and playstation share a lot of titles

The value of games is what kids never understood when they first had grabs or ownership.
That value in turn grants a profitable value that greatly undermined the people who saw games and gaming as joke and a waste of time and life.

Having a Azure Flute in your inventory is useless unless you have the event trigger btw :)
RatIRL watcher and playing Pokemon? Nice
All you need is to beat the elite four, and then head to mnt coronet(?) with the azure flute.
The flute is the trigger no?
@@Bored4Days Nope, The same can be said about any Event Key Item Oaks Letter, Membership Card, Secret Key. If you place the item in your inventory through PKSM or a cheat that gives you all Key Items the game won’t have the proper event trigger and it’s basically useless. The event trigger is basically acquire the item from the Mystery Gift Mail Man which is possible to do. If the fan Mystery Gift DNS Server is still up then I think it’s possible other than that you could manipulate Mystery Gift Data.
The game simply has flags in place for these event items. Action Replay back in the day was used to trigger them but it’s a lot easier to do it now via PKSM or the Fan Mystery Gift DNS Server
