  • Wilt Chamberlain, the player who shattered scoring records, is also the only center in NBA history to lead the league in total assists, 1968. He was 3rd in 1967. He averaged a triple double in points, assists, and rebounds the entire 2nd half of the 1968 season and averaged a triple double in 2 Playoff series. Wilt is
    the most prolific passing big man in NBA history. You decide how skillful he was.

    Wilt had such an awesome and interesting career that, besides being cheated out of his chance to compete in the 1960 olympics, we all got cheated out of seeing him be Goliath in a fight against Muhammad Ali when negotiations failed to make that mega fight happen. I believe Wilt would have given Ali a better fight than George Foreman did because he was bigger, stronger and in better shape than Foreman and had a much longer reach than anybody who ever stepped in the ring.

      To be fair, he probably got a triple double every game if they counted blocks back then as well. There was 1 game where they decided to see how many times he blocked shots and stole the ball, and if those were put into record books, he would have had a quintuple double. fun fact guys the boston Celtics won 11 championships throughout Bill Russells career. And they didn't sellout a single game. That's odd but the teams wilt chamberlain were on was selling out games. I'm starting to think Wilt Chamberlain was the main reason the NBA grew and they added more teams. And when he retired the attendance for the NBA dropped until Bird and Magic came to the league and which it went back up. Then Michael Jordan and other legends came in the league and now the NBA is the number 2 sport in America. Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Bird, and Magic are the main reason for the popularity of the NBA. Bill Russell just won some championships and that's it. And of course they were gonna win because they had 8 hall of famers on there team. I hope the warriors win 12 championships.

    If you are still alive, I want to request for you to post about the 1971 Eastern Conference Finals and the battle between Wes Unseld and Willis Reed. Reed averaged 12.4 PPG on 38.8 FG% for that series so I was curious to see how great of a defender was in that series and why we consider him an elite defender

    This is what makes me upset about Wilt. This is the Wilt Chamberlain everyone wanted to see. In the 1966-67 season and the 1967-68 season, Wilt was putting up incredible numbers and his winning record was going up dramatically. This is the Wilt everyone wanted to see. If he played like this throughout his entire career, there would be no question who the GOAT was.

      @Jesus Shuttlesworth >Skills are subjective. In no way do I see him to be the most skilled.
      >Skills only matter when they are used effectively. Tracy Mcgrady is very skilled. That didn't lead to career accomplishments.

      @Jesus Shuttlesworth>The word overrated is overrated at this point. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean it's overrated.
      >People should definitely be judged by their impact on the team and their team success. If you want to be judged as an individual, play street ball. This is a team sport in a team organization. Of course you should be judged.

      @Jesus Shuttlesworth Even when Wilt's team improved, Wilt still lost. So that makes the case for Jordan-instead of Wilt.

    • @x-man9473
      @x-man9473 4 роки тому +1

      @Jesus Shuttlesworth This is a weak argument.
      >Those extra teams popped up like once a year. So at best, that's 1 extra win.
      >Statistically, Jordan had the hardest road to the playoffs. If you go by the collective playoff win percentage. The highest winning teams were in the 90s more than any other decade.
      >Jordan's finals competition were always in the 60s and high 50s when it came down to regular season wins.
      >Jordan's competition was full of players on the US Dream Team that dominated everyone in the Olympics.
      So this is just a silly myth. Jordan had incredible competition. And he destroyed everyone

    • @x-man9473
      @x-man9473 4 роки тому +1

      @Jesus Shuttlesworth >Jordan isn't 1-9 in the first round. Get your facts straight.
      >You claiming that Stockton isn't a super star doesn't mean Stockton isn't a superstar.
      >You clearly know nothing about Jordan's competition to even imply that only one superstar is on his opponent's teams. So that already proves your limited knowledge on basketball.
      Considering you don't even have your basic facts straight, you shouldn't be having conversations about basketball.

    He probably would be the best big man today. Not as good as Shaq however and certainly not the best player. You can plainly see in these clips how much bigger he is than everybody!! He today would still be the biggest, but now EVERY BODY has 2 to 5 seven footers to throw at him!! The center that he dropped 100 on was only 6'8!! imagine what Shaq or Robinson or any all star big man of today would do against a 6'8 defender?!?!

      I'm obviously exaggerating a bit, but go to the 1962 rosters, the heights and weights on average are nowhere what they are today. Not to mention the skill level and training of today's players. I actually think he would be a better player today with all the advantages that today's players have, but he would only be a top 5 player in today's game and most likely would not quite average 30 a game, not this mythical ridiculous 50!!!! You guys are crazy to think otherwise!

      @@daryltoonk2729 ua-cam.com/video/Wm1-jzpr_hU/v-deo.html I made a video addressing Wilt's competition - they were not undersized - also the heights of his opposition was the same as today. Weights on average were off by maybe 10-15lbs due to weight lifting. That's it. Appropriately big guys were matched up to him in his era that were as big as guys today.

      Imhoff was got 100 points dropped on him and he was the same height as Hakeem Olajuwon. Imhoff also played against Jabbar. Jabbar's personal best on Imhoff was 48. Another fun fact is that 48 is the exact same personal best that Jabbar did against Olajuwon.
