It is not meant to be bf1. This is this studios third ww1 game, the first one came out in 2013, way before bf1... this studio invented ww1 multiplayer games.
Because:
1- Isonzo is more historical accurate, from weapons , maps and uniforms
2- People don t run around with SMGs or LMGs
3- Isonzo plays very differently compered to BF1
4- requires more team work to win games
5- since this game is a espicific front, they can facous on making good game in the battle of isonzo
6- there are poeple who like games like isonzo, even tho they are a nich comunity
