I also like more the original version, but maybe it would have been a pain to modelize it, especially for the burst animation. Iirc valks with longer dress tend to move around less, like Sushang. That, and fan service.
@@maosama3695 Yeah, I thought that too, though the only major acrobatic movement she did is the ultimate animation and I think it shouldn't look too bad even with the long skirt part, probably they're just lazy cause animate this long skirt might take a bit more work
@@jackheller2470 this isnt the first time they changed the in game model from the original 2d art work. Vodka twins have more skin showing in 2d art. In game they are wearing some kind of leotard. Himeko gods bane armour is a body suit with her left thigh showing in game shes wearing a weird loin cloth and in 3d cutscene shes wesring a full body suit that covers everything
@@jackheller2470 Her 3rd attack has the chakram revolves around her from lower left side when it returns, and Ai-chan at that moment is in a pose which looks like it can cause clipping if the long hemline strip does presented. Also, she does a very fast barrel roll in the mid air during one of the moves, imo having a long garment strip revolving around her at that time would look weird no matter how they might do it.
This isn't the first time the devs altered the appearance of the valks so I'm not surprised. For example in the CG Everlasting Flames, Kiana supposed to have a wing on her side similar to the Herrscher of the void symbolizing the remnants what she once was and on The CG Because of you, Elysia's Herrscher of Human: Ego's form should've had the flowy arm veils and the elaborate crystal halo symbolizing her sheer flawlessness instead of the really short and unnoticeable elbow sleeves and simplified Crystal halo she has on the playable version.
they did cut the dress to a minidress, other than that anime logic ig. if its the original long dress i guarantee she'll be janky because her movements are very acrobatic.
I don't like complaining like this or anything, but genuinely Hoyo has such a big budget and they couldn't animate the longer skirt to make it fit the model and animations? I mean, sure, the outfit is free, but this game is so P2W already, just let us F2Ps get a win for once 😭 (It looked so elegant and pretty with the long skirt)
• Other people already explained it, it'll clip through her and her cakram • She's the most acrobatic Valkyrie with a lot of movements, jumping, using her leg, swinging etc • The long dress will trip her up, making a weird and awkward looking physics when she's on combat • It's very difficult to animate it to make it look natural and not making it weird when she fight • It took a lot of time, details, and Physics to understand on how the dress should look, fall, floating etc It's better when it's only 2D in the story, or just a picture of her, a chibi looking games, a Turn Based game, or a Tower Defense game But in here, in Honkai, she's a full body anime woman with acrobatic moves, and a fast paced combats when fighting So I hope both of you try to understand this choice they made

the long skirt probably will affect her visual during her battle pefomance so it make sense for them to cut it.
