I love a pool morning to relax. As my kids got older and we have our own pool I realized that I have to be more intentional about taking the morning to relax and read by the pool.

I enjoy having some time off in the summers. I love sitting in the sun in the afternoons and drinking an iced coffee!

Such huge emotions when children get ready to launch. I've launched two and have four more to go. My third a senior this year. It does not get easier launching each one. It's an ache in your heart that this season with them is ending and they are embarking on their next chapter that God has for them. Thinking and praying for you. And I'm not going to lie if you do college drop off it's the worst feeling. I sobbed and sobbed and had a hard time when we got back home. It felt like someone was missing. But God is so patient and gracious with us moms. We fell into a new normal. Each time you have to find your footing and find the new normal with each one that launches. But thank the Lord that we got to spend all these years with them and building relationship with them because they do come back and it's been so sweet to see our home be a haven from college life. It's still a life giving place to our kids.

I’m hoping for a restful summer too! My oldest is graduating and my youngest of 4 is moving into 7th grade next year. I empathize with the big year with lots of changes! Thanks for the printable! I’m off to download it now.

I’m definitely more of a la-di-da year round homeschooler! We’re in a homeschool charter here in California, so the end of May does mark a big change. We don’t have monthly check-ins, any classes, sports, co-op, etc. We do work on house projects, travel, go to multiple VBS, swim lessons, water parks, etc. But, I’ve found we have to spend an hour max on the three R’s, and lots of summer reading, and then still have so much free time! We live 30 minutes from the beach so we go there very often (although we usually have ‘June Gloom’ here on the central coast… if I had it my way, we’d do more school until July 4th, and then take a longer break until it cools back down in the fall) … all of that to say, I’ll totally be checking out that checklist to get everything in order to allow for more relaxation!

I like to front load my planning and cleaning out too. Your checklist was very helpful last year. Definitely using it again this year.

I'm at the beginning of your video and live in the South. We are halfway through summer break already. 😅🥴😏 Public school (which I know we don't have to correspond with, but most co-ops loosely do) starts back August 1st here.

I went a whole day not realizing I left most of my palm print on the side of my neck. I was painting and just forgot about it after awhile, until I went to the grocery store and the cashier asked about it, lol. If you haven't mentioned the color though, I honestly wouldn't have noticed. But your hair color looks great! Hope all is well.

Your channel has blessed me so much. I am starting homeschooling my kids for the first time starting in August. I have spent HOURS watching your videos. They are all so educational to me as a first time homeschool mom. Thank you for the time you ‘ve put into this channel over the years. I am confident and excited to start.. a lot of that comes from your advice and wisdom!

Same!! I also have 4, but they’re super young. We are slowly starting our first year with our oldest two boys in 1st and kinder. Watching your videos gives me encouragement that we can aim to do this for the long haul ❤️

My summer goal is solving a Rubik's cube. I'm close to it, but several times I've made a wrong move and have to start over. This has been the best thing to get me out of my own head and focus on something totally different from everything else in my life. I think we all need to find our own "Rubik's cube" for summer enjoyment!

I'd like to stop and ask how you have friends whose kids are not homeschooled? It seems everytime i meet a new potential friend she disengages as soon as she finds out I'm a homeschool mom. I don't even have friends asking to go out to coffee or do unit studies togeyher. I hear and see so many people in my homeschool group hangoling out and planning unit study and writing classes and all sorts of activities together but Im never asked and I have reached out so many times that I have lost interest. People dont ever want to come to my house. It's always me having to go meet at a park or their houseafter aive reached out to them . That's just how it has always been, and it has led me to feelings of unworthiness and depression. It kind of has made me bitter towards certain people. I tend to click with the lone rangers and not the popular families. It seems like the popular moms judge me and dont want to get too close. I have evaluated this in my head for 13 years haha❤

I have a niece clean home and I will make treats and be inviting but do get nervous. I wonder if people don't feel comfortable because they can tell I'm shy but I am also super talkative so maybe I'm overwhelming. I have picked myself apart so much it is exhausting

Your videos make me less stressed. It is evident you love the Lord and you do have wisdom because of that. It is refreshing in this wishy-washy world.

Hi Ashley! Thank you for all of the info you put into this channel. I am preparing to homeschool my two 6th graders and one 7th grader this year after they have been in a private school the last few years. I have watched many of your videos and am using some of the curriculum you have mentioned. ❤thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the encouragement and wisdom you bring!
