Well the new board arrived today and unfortunately it didn’t solve my problem, the hand wheel still doesn’t work 🙁. I think I may be returning it and giving up on it. I don’t know what else it can be , it’s supposed to be just plug and play so I just don’t know🙁

@@MrMonahan28 Hi sorry to here it has not cured the problem. Have you tried using the wheel with out been connected to the pc or offline controller if you have one As it ever worked ok

No , I have no way of testing it out without plugging it into the machine. Perhaps I got two different bad ones from a batch of bad ones.

Tony, you have presented some very good information especially for me as I am considering the 4040 CNC you referenced and also the MPG. are you using GRBL control(candle) on your 4040 and if so, what is the release version?. good presentation.

Hi thanks for your great feedback to answer your question I have not updated candle from the very first time I installed it which was early last year so I have not checked which one. I prefer to use the offline controller it never fails to complete the program.

Hi Tony, would you rate the Genmitsu better than the tooltec cnc you have?
    Thanks

Hi thanks for your interesting question. The Tooltec cnc has a smaller working area and a brushless 150w spindle very quiet but does the job. Software is Bravo Prodigy and is pretty basic and it comes with like a games controller for moving it around but does the job, you have to be connected to a pc to operate it but what ever program I put through it from Aspire or vcarve it just runs it. The build quality is that good it takes 2 people to lift it and is a solid alloy base. To answer your question yes I like the Tooltec better but that is only my choice but it is far more expensive.

Hi Tony, thanks for the reply, I like the look of the tooltec and have an opportunity to buy one for the same price as a genmitsu 4030 v2 which is why I asked the question. Thanks for the response.

@@shaunkimify Hi they are very heavy machines but as I say its only my choice. The big limitation with the Tooltec is the power of the spindle and bed size with the 4030 v2 you can put a far stronger spindle on and cut at better feed rates and of coarse alloy. I dont have the 4030 v2 so I cant give an opinion on that. I have the 4040 pro and that is not as well built as the Tooltec. I picked my Tooltec up for £900 and at the time they were over double that and it had not been used more than 2 times. Dont forget the Tooltec you will be limited but the 4030 has more upgrades that you can do to it and more materials. When I purchased the Tooltec there was not much on the market but now there is a fantastic choice. All I would say is look at what you might want to do in the future before you buy.

Hello ,I had one of these hand wheels, stopped working after a third time. Returned it and bought a new one and not working. Do you have any idea why it would stop working?? Thanks

Hi thanks for the question and sorry that you have been having trouble. If the machine works other than with the hand wheel it could be an issue with the motherboard connection. Mine works with the offline controller and through the PC and I would not think it would be two hands wheels. Do you have the old or new motherboard the new one is the one with the wireless connector on. I had the first machine over here although it had some quality control issues it has been great. Please let me know how you sort this problem out.

Thanks for the reply. No I definitely don’t think it’s the hand wheel itself now. The first one acted a little funny , I’d have to play around with the wheel spinning it then it would finally start working. I have the old board. I’ve reached out to Sainsmart to see if could be something with the board itself. Just waiting to hear from them

@@MrMonahan28 Hi the reason I mentioned the board is I had read on a web chat that someone was having problems with the offline controller after they fitted the new board strange if it is this should have been sorted before it was released. Keep me informed please
