Although they knew how to disassemble and reassemble this engine is a bomb waiting to happen. I admire there v hard work. But use gaskets, new bolts amd a torque wrench. You can not assemble an engine without torque. It just want last. Period. These looked like same bolts. If so it want last a week or two. Bolts stretch and can never be reused. If they were new. I think these guys are pretty experienced, they know how to tighten. I've seen supposedly rebuilds fail even with all best practices followed, even factory engines can't make it off the assembly line. This truck is probably overloaded already and doing just fine.
"know how to tighten" uhh huh, stuff like criss-cross tightening of circular patterns or specific tightening patterns for the head (or a torque wrench...) are clearly considered western decadence there :P Also, what in Allah is that sound at 34:28??? The engine should not be making grinding noises *after* a rebuild!
No, they don't. You need a torque wrench at least for the main bearings, rod bearings and the head. The head screws need more torque then in the video. They do good work for the tools they have. But i think this kind of repairs aren't cheep. So they do repairs for like 1.000 USD they also can buy a torque wrench for 100 USD.
I don't think that shop could test that engine, though I've seen other vids where folks have started up an engine in a barn. The motor sitting on some 4x4s.
They will start the engine on the floor of the work shop and it will do its running where it is rebuilt please don't voice over the commentary thank you...

Being at the centre of the ceiling doesn't necessarily means it's a light point. They've got a hook drilled into that centre point which serves the purpose
Great skills and team work but these kids are compelled to start working at a very tender age to support their families. Real Heroes …. Salute
They never used any computer or internet these engine builders because they don’t need a computer to tell them anything because they are the computer God bless guys
No bitching, no moaning and time wasting of BS. Just earning an honest living. Bravo👏👏👏
It's a very impressive way ...they made it.
Good team work 💪👷👏.
People are really very skilled..at their work.
Even without using modern techniques they are able to finish the job..
These talented workers working together on an engine like honey bees working together on a flower. That's amazing. Pakistani labor is very talented but sadly very underpaid and over worked for their hard work. Mechanics here in Canada 🇨🇦 don't even bother overhauling this kinda engine. They just scrap it and swap a new, used or rebuild engine into the vehicle.
Yeah
How much does it cost for a rebuild like this in Pakistan? Total respect for these workers.
@@petercampbell1478 less than $500 USD included labour and everything.
Well Canadian will have to learn a lesson, as Mr Klaus Schwab the global Nazi villain will have them poor and in camps, they will owe nothing and will be happy.
No Service manual, No Parts Book, this is amazing! Put these guys on Payroll!
Pakistani living in Canada. nice video. best wishes for all.
wow, this is really hard work. He is a good mechanic. I give him an AAA thousand of parts he knows how to put all back to where's belong Lol wow unbelievable mechanic.
Hard to believe, but then again we are blessed with correct teaching and the tools for the job.
These young lads should be in their own shop for reconditioning engines gearbox’s and the rest))
There known to be the best of the best
This video just proves it all !!
The way they stripped out that engine takes some knowledge and skill!!
There the best I’ve ever seen in my life
And these guys don’t get have the credit for their outstanding work they are the best simple as ))
When they were stripping the engine down there must have been at least 30 different parts and places to fit back on how did they know what bolts to put on at certain parts being fitted
Totally amazing mind blowing stuff
some of them are only in their teens Ffs
You all should be very proud of yourselfs for the work you do)) god bless ya all
Although they knew how to disassemble and reassemble this engine is a bomb waiting to happen. I admire there v hard work. But use gaskets, new bolts amd a torque wrench. You can not assemble an engine without torque. It just want last. Period. These looked like same bolts. If so it want last a week or two. Bolts stretch and can never be reused. If they were new. Then yippy. Still want last without torque. You torque be able when engine gets hot. The bolts stretch then relax. Again admirable, buy want last no time.
@@jameswolfe4712 That's what you think.... They did their job done with minimum resources and very basic tools. I salute them all for their efforts ☺️. God bless you guys don't worry one you gonna get better tools and workshops there in Pakistan.
Engine rebuilding is a tedious task but it's worth the money you saved..and the joy you feel is priceless.. when you get the engine running again,,
QUE MARAVILLA, MUCHAS FELICIDADES-👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
Excelente videos. Los chicos trabajando y aprendiendo un oficio, es lo mejor. Felicitaciones
American alley shops used to be like this, good mechanics who worked with what they had… ..now all we have are part replacers with ridiculous shop rates..
Corporations are creating products with planned obsolescence, and they don't want to give out the information for people to repair their products. All in the name of profit and creating dependency of consumer to the corporation

Yup. Parts monkey backyard mechanic is what we have now. Damn shame.
bro, it's a youtube channel, there's a ton of americans that take down broken vehicles and get them back to running order just like this. infact i bet it's way more common in america lol. i've done it to 3 vehicles already. not to mention that fact that these 3rd worlders likely don't have access to the parts and literally can't reliably rebuild an engine.
As usual another great job guys. Special good job by the two young guys. You will be GREAT!
30:19 loves the cracks on the flywheel! awesome
You are right. Well spotted. Looks like 2 cracks? One smaller as well?
The cracks in the flywheel are for cooling

Lots of comment pointing ,did not doing this and that ! .
More important is this one is back .

Great work

I think these guys are pretty experienced, they know how to tighten. I've seen supposedly rebuilds fail even with all best practices followed, even factory engines can't make it off the assembly line. This truck is probably overloaded already and doing just fine.
"know how to tighten"
uhh huh, stuff like criss-cross tightening of circular patterns or specific tightening patterns for the head (or a torque wrench...) are clearly considered western decadence there :P
Also, what in Allah is that sound at 34:28??? The engine should not be making grinding noises *after* a rebuild!
@@AKAtheA It sounds to me like sticky assembly lube
No, they don't. You need a torque wrench at least for the main bearings, rod bearings and the head. The head screws need more torque then in the video.
They do good work for the tools they have. But i think this kind of repairs aren't cheep. So they do repairs for like 1.000 USD they also can buy a torque wrench for 100 USD.
THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING; FAMILY AFFAIR 👍
And not a power tool in sight. Striped and rebuilt by hand. Amazing...
It's amazing! what they do, with what they have.....
No power tools!
Beautiful work!
The beauty of living an a no snow place, those bolt arent even a little rusted.
Try that in car that has spend most of its life in many winters .
And not a torque wrench in sight. Utterly brilliant. University of life!
just silicone and slap it together
Wonder how many mechanics are watching these guys tightening down these bolts non sequentially and screaming NOOOOOO!!!! into their monitors!! Lol
MashaAllah amazing work Almighty Allah bless there hard work inshaAllah
I wish the channel would show the engine being tested after the rebuild. These videos end too quickly.
"...tested..." lol
It's "tested" by the 1st drive.
When you have confidence in your work, " Good to Go !"
I don't think that shop could test that engine, though I've seen other vids where folks have started up an engine in a barn. The motor sitting on some 4x4s.
They will start the engine on the floor of the work shop and it will do its running where it is rebuilt please don't voice over the commentary thank you...
tested, it blew up before it was fitted
@@zulfqarshah6444 i would like to see that
Another Absolutely Fantastic Show of Learning and Perseverance. Watching the young lad learning was a joy in itself! >> "The Young Apprentice". My only disappointments on this was 1) I didn't get to see the engine painted. 2) I didn't get to see it re-installed into the truck and run. and last, 3) I didn't get to see Micky an Mini Mouse. 👍🤣
😄😄😄😄
Here in old Europe we have to use a torque wrench on the tightening force and the order of tightening of the bolts. Masters of renovation ;-)
and no gaskets at all, this motor will start to leak in less than a week

I'm proud of those young boys learning a way to earn a living, especially being we live in a country where WAY TOO MANY adults are allowed to lay around all day living off the fruits of the working man. Why are only criminals made to do roadside cleanups yet there's plenty of people milking the system that are doing absolutely zero to pay for their existence on this planet.

engine rebuilt without the electric tools, only hand tools. Government should set up place like this for car repair for homeless people so they can make some money out of it. Provide land, electricity, mechanic (local or import) to train the homeless.
Excelente trabalho merece aplausos 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
As a non mechanic I only wonder how they know which bolts go where. As far as I saw, they were removing bolts and just throwing them all together in blue buckets.. Respect..

None of the parts that were taken off were matched, and therefore all mixed upon reassembly, no use of thread lock, no use of a torque wrench and refitting a badly cracked and crazed flywheel, one has to ask, what could possibly go wrong!
The snarky part of me says their repair process is job security as the motor will be back. But I think they're not thinking about that.
MA. Talented desi mechanics. Can always bring back a dead engine with no problem. This is a special talent where you learn to re-build anything from small engines to jet engines. My true respect as I have worked with many of these highly talented mechanics almost 50 years ago in Lahore.
