Am I the only one who felt like the trailer for the Skeleton Crew seemed like a trailer for a B-movie from the 80's?

Female main character after all the issues with M-SHE-U and other failures where they tried to force gender ideology down our throats. I am hoping for something good and willing to give it a chance, but my expectations are low. And Disney still trying to come up with new ways to destroy Star Wars. So sad.

it's a remake. The original 3 Body series is a Korean one and it's already complete. Great series, by the way.
@@JohnyStarkEnglishTeacher Not really a remake as this one and the Chinese on were made simulataneously. The Chinese (Tenecent) released 30 episodes in 2023 and they both adapted the same novel by Cixin Liu. I guess the Netflix one will be far less novel accurate and less Chinese-centric. It will be interesting to compare the two.

Seemed to me that those last two (Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte) were possibly fake. Looked like a lot of footage from previous shows/movies, to me.
Acolyte is real, but that wasn't the trailer for it. Even the timeline was wrong. The Acolyte takes place near the end of High Republic period.
The trailer looked like a fan made fake trailer. I know their are "real" plans to make it. If that's a real trailer, the series is in a lot of trouble. If that the best Disney can push out as a trailer the series will be preatty bad 👎

For me, being a life long Fallout fan, I am excited to see what they've done to it. I like the trailer. Also, what if the dragons took a massive poop on the enemy? Would that be a fruitful battle tactic?
I don't play Fallout but because of this, I might consider it.
The last "last air bender" was so bad it hurts still. But, i guess i'm gonna try this one.
if you are talking about the movie, yeah, it was kind of bad. But amazingly these show remained quite faithful to the original cartoon. It moves a bit faster and there are some changes, but not something that will ruin it. Worthy the watch imo.
Nobody wanted to give it voice for lotr serie they had to use AI voice XD

i followed Fallout while friends played the game, and found who started world war three. Vault Tec did to test out their underground vaults and see how they held up.
It reeks of the Panderverse. Why yet again female led care for a yet another game primarily and overwhelmingly played by guys. Guys want make energy. Not feminst energy trying to ape being make. Hard pass.
@rbu2136 I'm probably giving them too much credit. I'd like to think that the lead is female because of the Black Widow perk from the game. The perk makes it easier to persuade men and gives a damage bonus against men which most hostile NPCs were in Fallout 3, NV, and 4. So it was popular to use a female character.

That “trailer” for the acolyte seems to be fake. The footage was all familiar because I’ve seen all the other Star Wars movies and tv shows. Yoda was taken from his meditation room in revenge of the sith, Rey was seen from one of the sequels, anikin’s voice could be heard. There was also footage taken from mandolorian and book of boba fett. Pretty sure the only stuff I didn’t recognize was taken from a game I have not played yet. This show might be coming, but I doubt much of what is shown here will appear anywhere in the series. Also, rewatched and noted footage from Kenobi as well.

I find it annoying that the last 3 "trailers" aren't actually trailers, they're fan made videos.
As for actual trailers, I found that Fallout hit all of the right visual notes. Very much has the look and feel of the games. Remains to be seen whether it is well written or not.

Well, at least we have season 2 of House of Dragons to look forward to. I hopeful for Acolyte, but it's Disney. Only thing worse than Disney is Netflix, so I don't hold much hope for anything they do. I mean, they put a lot of dollars into Rebel Moon and it was still hot garbage. I had high hopes for Fallout, but if the trailer is any indication of what it will be, it just looks like it's going to be too goofy.

Avatar the last airbender. I am not familiar with this...but it looks good. Can't find a problem with this, to me, there is no copying going on, no rip offs that i can see....for once, this is something done right and I can't wait to see it.
There was a movie in 2010 "The Last Airbender". It was actually pretty good, but left things off like they intended to do a sequel that never happened. The trailer to the Netflix series "Avatar The Last Airbender" looks like a cheesier version of the movie. Basically looks like it follows the same timeline/story that the movie did. They probably should of done a series that starts where the movie left off and made more serious. Of course, the content creators at Netflix don't seem to be the brightest bunch. They just keep producing garbage.

As watched S1 is just 8 series of the movie from 2010 and its OK child movie, neither complicated , neither very stupid. 7/10

The shows are coming, but he's used animation from other SW content which aren't related to these shows. I saw the first clips of The Acolyte at the celebration last year in London. For example the Swtor (video MMO game) cutscenes are false here and there's even a Rey scene with deepfake with someone else's face. So all that stuff is from the fan trailers.

Avatar -- we're trying to force ourselves to finish it... the fire nation kids all seem horribly miscast. Ang is a little off. The Water tribe kids are well cast (and their voices seem dead on) as are many secondary characters, but Sokka's script takes away all his joyful goofiness, and Ang feels joyless too... The Kyoshi warriors introduction was very off putting... everybody was out of character...
Hurray you didn't decide to make everyone in the fire nation from India... lihe the movie... so you did it instead with the Earth kingdom this time?
So yeah - casting is more miss than hit. The script is RUSHING too fast... and it feels like it was written by somebody who didn't like certain aspects of the original and THOUGHT parts of it and certain characters were "problematic".

If considering what they made of the game "Halo" is any indication, I don't think Fallout wil be any better than that; what I immediately noticed in the trailer of Fallout is the absence of the super-mutants, a fallout faction that was present from the very first original game(and where there origin was explained in! Something the recent games all overlooked; They're actually a vault-tech experiment gone wrong!)
I saw a different trailer, and they do have super mutants. Everything in the game I saw, faction wise, and main enemies that is.

Katara and Sokka look very different from its animated version. I thought they should be played by Indian actors.
Why would they be played by Indian actors when the characters are from a tribe that lives in the frozen north and south having Inuit actors play them makes complete sense

The southern tribe is resembling India, and the northern tribe is resembling ... Inuit (?? I don't know what tribe is at Siberia, Inuit is in northern America, so ... maybe Ainu? cmiiw). Their names also mimicking those four/five country.

I have no clue why anyone would call this sci-fi. I don’t expect everyone to know that it is a specific form of story-telling but everyone should know it’s short for science-fiction?
Some call it Sy-Fy or Sci-Fy and I’m ok with that as it’s clear that it’s fantasy that copies elements of some science-fiction stories (like space travel, a futuristic setting, robots). Most fantasy stuff requires the audience to first turn off all rational thinking and believe in dragons, magic what have you, then spend time to learn some conflicting rules how that particular made up universe works just a to follow the story and then accept that everything is moot anyway because whenever the plot requires it some new magic power, object or being is introduced.
Good science-fiction should encourage you to engage with the story with your analytic mind, starting with a simple “what if…” premise and then be always one step ahead of the audience when the story unfolds. Ideally the very last moment gives you a piece of information that changes how you view the entire story.
Skeleton Crew looks insulting to the entire franchise
