What a gorgeous tone he has. I watch lots of UA-cam videos of the various types of horns: the British-style upright tenor horns and baritones as well as the German and East European style oval shaped ones. To my ears the German style ones always sound better, a more open, resonant, singing tone. The British ones can still sound stuffy even when in the hands of virtuoso players. I am seriously considering taking up one of these German style instruments, which aren't generally available for sale in the UK. The oval design just seems to produce a better sound.
Bb Tenorhorn. King of unfairly forgotten instruments. Always associated with or mistaken for things that it isn't. It's not a Wagner Tuba. It's not a Baritone. It's not a Baritone Horn. It's not an Eb Tenor Horn. And no, it doesn't sound like a damn Trombone. And because it is none of those things, it might as well not even exist. Also spotted, he is using a JK Exclusive mouthpiece.
I thought it was a Josef Klier mouthpiece. It is tragic that this is mostly forgotten. At least a few brands like Wessex Tubas still make some for a pretty cheap selling price compared to other places. This is off topic, but I’d love to get my hands on an old Czech Rotary Baritone/Euphonium.

No Wagner and Bruckner used Wagner Tubas this is a Tenorhorn which is more wider and played with a diffent mouthpiece. The Tenorhorn is some kind of german version of the Euphonium

Look up Wessex Tubas, they do both a German Tenor Horn (equiv to a british baritone) and a Kaiser Baritone, equiv to a Euphonium.
Agree. Miraphone makes the best ones, but thy make upright euphoniums that sound amazing too.
