    This was a really good video on how to hold the pads for each type of punch/knee/kick etc.. but what about if you are doing drills which consists of kicks and knees? I found out today that holding the pad with my forearm on the middle grips across the pad (behind) and then my other hand grabbing the top handle, it was very painful when receiving roundhouse kicks. the pad I was using didn't look as padded as yours either :/

      Thanks for the reply!
      Transitioning between the two can be difficult as you may need to change grips quickly.
      There are certainly other ways to hold the pad for round kicks however this thick pad does take alot of force outve Lorna kicks.
      Hopefully we can show you some other methods in a future video!

    Great vid! I’m curious, how would you recommend using a kick pad by yourself when you don’t have a partner? Set it up on something for both punches and kicks?

      If you can wrap a strap or 2 around the shield onto something flat or slightly curved would be ideal,
      Our man shield has a pull back strap designed to do this however our range of kick shields don't come with this feature,
      The ground is a great workout alternative also ;)

    Isn't it bad for the body of the holder? Why would anyone enjoy getting kicked(his voice tells how much he is receiving)? Why can't there be a machine for it? Or a robot?

      Injuries are always possible in combat sports training,
      However with a quality pad, good holding technique, those chances drop drastically :)

    Telegraph a kick by stepping forward with you back leg first? If you're going to move you back leg why not step through and get a proper kick in?
