What a beautiful poem. In harmony with place. The smallness of the country rather than the Greatness.
I love this subject. As an American Orthodox Christian in the New England region, I very much consider us to be part of this Anglo-Saxon/Anglo-Celtic fold. I only wish more North Americans knew and understood this. Out of all the Anglosphere countries, we seem to be the only one that has lost our Anglo identity; the British Isles is our Motherland. Our early American as well as colonial forebears however certainly knew it. Even the rebel scoundrels of the Revolution knew it, as they repeatedly refer to themselves as “freeborn Englishmen” in the republic’s founding documents. And they were traitors! So, with that in mind, imagine what that says about us living today!
We are one Folk. ✝️🏴🇬🇧
"The will of a determined minority against a confused majority"! Sounds very familiar.
Love the icon behind him. Saw this on your Polish podcast.
The English landscape is loved by the people.
Did I hear mentioned the name of Don Miguel Ayuso? You refered to him as your friend? It would be the biggest blessing if you could interview him on this channel. The brightest and most knowledgeable Catholic and traditionalist mind currently if you ask me. It just blows your mind

Great as usual
Is a link for the essay by P Correa de Oliver available please?

The English gentleman was portrayed so well by Domiic Guard in Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Anglo Saxon England was a golden age. Our forebears.
about 53:00 Wonderful little poem.
A glorious age in England and anything but a dark age.
You produce high quality content tragically and sometimes fatally marred by chronic echo on your guests lines.
It is true - Catholicism is the majority faith in Australia but yet there is still a preference for the Church of England here.
Odd thought, but is there a point where the Church could have been granted so much land that the King and aristocracy are literally being squeezed out? Is there a mechanism for land to be returned to secular lords without just seizing everything or is it inevitable that eventually the church would have been given everything in England?
This is an old argument and fails on several points; here are four:
1) The King need mainly be concerned with the rule of his land, whoever owns it. In this case, the Church was more effectively supplying 'goods and services' better than any secular lord.
2) The duties of, and as, aristocracy is ultimately to the people, not themselves--Noblesse Oblige.
3) The 'aristocracy' in question (those of them seeking Church lands), at the time, were not much more than a lot of 'bounders' out to make of themselves oriental potentates with the commoners as virtual slaves.
4) There were more than enough secular lords, with more than enough secular land, with room to spare--see point three above.
An American playing Sam in New Zealand summed up the beauty of England.
Law was something promissed and reciprocity.
Coventry Cathedral is still there.
As an Australian did find it surprising how little the English knew of their own Empire or even of the Commonwealth.
Truth is the opinion of the powerful.
RIghts versus responsibilities.
The will of a determined minority against a confused majority.

I am only Catholic because of an Irish Great Grandmother.
You cannot demonise the British empire.
Everything was washed in the blood of the lamb. Law was viewed and then inserted into liturgical books.
A litte Englander and patriarchal - yes.
An ecclesial ream above the secular realm.
An Ecclesial realm before a political realm.
Perhaps that is why they now have a pagan music festiveal at Glastonbury now.
The programme Little Britain makes fun of Little England. A terriblly disrespectful programme that asks Brits to make fun of themselves.
A cutured age.
You are living in the Shire.
Removing justice for rights. This is self serving.
Superb interview. I have never heard the interviewer before but he develops the conversation and contributes himself brilliantly. I was not surprised to hear Joseph Pearce say it had been a privilege to take part in. Both men in top form.
