Jerry is saying basically that Homelander is being manipulative, which is accurate, he still cares about Ryan and wants to care about his feelings but he’s changing his tactics and is still trying to manipulate him to act a certain way
From what i can grasp, i think Homelander specific use of manipulation to make Ryan feel as tho he has a choice towards his action and its his idea so eventually comes naturally.
And also Homelander has a God complex . He still believes he’s superior to humans and he wants Ryan to think that way as well. He slowing manipulating Ryan by saying he has feel will to do whatever. But no parent will allow their child to do whatever they want with no consequences.
Homelander literally points at the director when Ryan says he wants to really help ppl. And then when Homelander points at the director, pay real close attention, Ryan then proceeds to say “but not-“ and then Homelander cuts him off and calls for the director. He is MANIPULATING him.
Speaking of, Rob is pretty good at manipulating an argument. He could be dead wrong and somehow twists it into him being right😂in all the years I’ve watched RTTV he’s done it countless times during the roundtable discussions lol
Simon Pegg KILLED this episode. You really felt his pain when he told Hughies mom how he felt. And it’s like his powers reflected his feelings.
That was the most compelling part of the episode for me.
Dumb question but how do his powers reflect his feelings? I'm just curious
@@MrFredstt like when he was yelling at Hughies mom about how she “looked right through him like he wasn’t there.”
He starts to phase in and out of the scene like his powers are reflected in his statement.
🎉
@@mellysomethingcleverAlso the fact that his power lets him rip someone's heart out

Neegan is in Butcher’s head. You notice nobody is around when they’re talking.
Noticed a couple of episodes back and in this one in confirmed it
@@CokeZeroHero when the season started, they asked him who was he talking to and he blew it off.
@@eaglesphan5650That's when he was seeing Becca. He already knew she was just in his head.
I like how we’re just all calling him Negan
@@ellerysmusic Negan or John Winchester
Jack & Simon killed it!
It's so sad.Hughie's dad was already braindead, and Hughie brought him back. Even though the V saved his life & kept him going, his brain was already done. Imagine being a supe with Demetia. That's scary
Edit: Guys I get it, it was the mom. Idgaf
Facts !! Another reason why they can’t exist. Remember Professor X in Logan?
Not hughie. It was his mom that did it.
It was his mom not him🎉😅
It was the mom. Not Hughie
@@hakami1426This is what people keep forgetting, they’re blaming Hughie for what his mom did.
Hughies mom is really sketching me out, idk if it’s the actress not portraying the emotions right or what but it seems like she pretending to be sad. I think she has ulterior motives
Just realised they got 2 villains from same universe.. Virginia - Ashley & negan
I love that Starlight, when she can, stand on business. Her punching Newman shocked me tbh lol it was a well-deserved punch, Newman was talking too much and needed to shut up. Also, I really believe Ryan is slowly falling to the dark side. The scenes with Hughie’s dad were phenomenal and I actually teared up.
Well deserved, but very stupid nonetheless
She kinda just proved her point though lashing out like that
stand on business? she cant do sh to newman lol?
@@mentos7070she just knocked her in her ass. That’s something. Newman could’ve blown her head off but chose not to. That was her mistake cause it’ll cost her in the future.
@@MrFredsttOk?…. She ain’t no different either.
There is a theory that negan is in his head😂😂😊
I think that is the truth cause Rebecca is like the angel on his shoulder trying to convince him to do what is right & "Negan" is the devil doing the literal opposite.
Good theory as negan only appears when no one else is there
And it also tells him to do evil stuff such as drug Ryan to kidnap him
I like that theory it makes a lot of sense
Dude really called Kessler , Neegan lol😂
Robert, shut it!
Robert is such a bore. Homelander ask them to come over.
I think homelander is going to send Ryan to gen v University or whatever that school is called
Rob just hold the L
The Boys need bring back soldier boy.
Probably next season since it’s the last. I don’t know how they’re going to get Soldier Boy on their side though.
This was the worst episode so far, I might even call it a bad episode, which would be a first in the series. Too many parts I didn't like this time damn it.
Monique telling MM to fix it when she's also her parent and is the one she lives with. Fix it together instead.
I think Butcher should have mentioned that Zoe killed two guys to Edgar.
Annie being dumb again just like in the last episode, punching Neuman and not listening to Butcher. Same stuff again.
A-Train was dumb to speak to Ashley in the open at an event...
What happened to Hughie's dad was actually too horrible, so damn sad and horrific for all of them. Also weird how it would make him do that stuff.
And oh no, Frenchie is suddenly stupid with the religious thing and the sheep plan comment...
Also not like the boys to not fight their way out. Why didn't they shoot the sheep? They have Kimiko... and Neuman, who didn't use her power, why!? If it doesn't work they need to show that.
And how did Butcher do that without anyone noticing? And nobody questioned the clean cut of the leg even.
Starlight is trash. Only time I liked her recently was when she beat Firecracker
Are you saying a human body is strong than timber 🪵?

Homelander realized he was programmed to care about how people think about him, and he hates that because he's being controlled by non-suppes. He doesn't want Ryan to be treated the same way. Homelander actually does care about Ryan and sees him as his son. The purpose of Homelander going to the place where he was raised was for him to figure out why he is the way he is. Not to figure out how to parent Ryan. By Homelander going there, he figured out he was programmed to always want people's validation. It wouldn't make sense for the character to learn that fact about himself and go and manipulate his son. If you notice Homelander only kills people that fear him. He never attempted to even harm Gus because Gus doesn't care about him. It's not because Gus has aura. Homelander didn't kill the lead doctor because she never showed that she feared him. Homelander pointed that out last episode.
I don't agree homelander is definitely still on manipulating his son his just taken a different approach
All he did for 3 seasons is manipulate his way to get love LMAO. Sociopaths have a HABIT of controlling and manipulating. And they lack conscience and self awareness. The manipulation is not gonna stop now that he’s focused on Ryan whether he’s self aware or not.
@@mrstrangeworld5977 Are we watching the same show, because anybody saying I feel like y’all are giving Homelander way too much credit for being evil and smart? I don't understand how you guys hear Homelander basically saying I don't like the idea of Supes being controlled by regular people. And think he is only saying that to control Ryan when the last episode shows how Homelander was being controlled this whole time in a way.
@@UnrealGeminiyou both are right lol idk how yall dont see that.

It seems like rob doesn't understand manipulation, homelander even whispered to Ryan to have the girl slap him. Don't let sleepy Rob control the narrative, he don't even pay close attention. Homelander is obviously grooming Ryan
W dad 😂
DEADASS. Rob barely be knowing whats going on & be trying to give false information BECAUSE he doesn’t pay attention so his points sometimes come off as stupid 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️👀
@@1tz_just_keyis he high every episode?
@@1tz_just_key why you are so mad dvmb rob is just talking like wtf
Rob for POTUS
No Rob wrong about this one. He literally pointed towards the girl and suggested Ryan do something about it. You guys really need to understand foreshadowing. The woman from last episode said he can’t change his programming. Homelander is a sociopath. Sociopaths lack consciousness and self-awareness. He thinks he’s cutting out his need for love, but he’s unconsciously shifting that obsession towards Ryan. Homelander compulsively manipulated his way to get love and admiration for 3 seasons. That won’t just stop all of sudden now that he’s focused on Ryan.
bruh but ryan was having a blast thanks to that
@@blacky8987 cause in a way Ryan sees it as "helping" the girl. I bet when homelander takes it up a notch, to try to have Ryan seriously hurt someone, hes gonna truly see him as he is.
homelander is literally shaping him just like how the lab people shaped him (but this time he’s not torturing him lol)
He literally told Ryan he wants to become one with him 😂😂
I wonder what that means
If he is a sociopath who lacks consciousness why would he have a need for love? @cameronauguste9100

In the debate Wilkins was spittin fr about Ryan & homelander the whole time but we got the gang not hearing him fr (especially Rob)

Rob is so simple in the head he can't comprehend clear manipulation 😂.
I feel like Rob's the kind of person that could be talked into a pyramid scheme with a passing comment lol. He doesn't understand CLEAR manipulation at all
Homelander was actually the one that suggested Ryan to tell her to slap the director.
Ryan knows better from his mom but you are right in the end ryan is still just a child being manipulated by an "adult"/ father lol
Ryan: "I want you to slap him"
Assistant: "Say less"
I mean with homelander there.. I would too
Homelander was very sly with the way he parented Ryan in this episode. He was nice to him, he let him make his own decisions and he made it clear that he supported his decisions. He knows Ryan is not okay with hurting just any humans but he knows he can let out Ryan’s mean streak by having him think he’s helping people and punishing bad people who deserve it. Homelander thinks this can lead to Ryan being like him but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I don’t think this relationship dynamic we saw in his episode will last long. They will be at odds.
The boys is a game changer for sure
Letting us know that there's no antiheros theres good and bad people no in between
Sam from Gen V isn't freaking out because Cate took away all of his feelings
The line Frenchie said about not being in the condition to fuck a sheep was the funniest line in the whole series and it just went over all your heads…. 😂
No cap that part had me rolling😂.
I like how Huey and his dad’s powers are similar but not exactly the same. Like havok and cyclops or Polaris and magneto. This can be seen in soldier boy and homelander as well as translucent and his son.
and the child always has the stronger powers
Havok is Scott's older brother but your point still stands
@@Chuck_EL yeah I’m just speaking on relatives and mutant powers. I know there brothers. I don’t think there dad had powers. But cable did gain some of his mom’s psych abilities.

Name one thing of merrit any member of the boys did this season. It's not just Frenchie fuckinng up they all are.
My guy said shawn of the dead lmaooooo i loved Simon in that movie as well as hot fuzz ! gonna miss him.

for real
Although the culprit is ded
Even when he doesn’t kill people Homelander is just terrifying to be around. Him recruiting Sam, Cate, and Tek Knight for his Supe army is going to be crazy.
With yall’s argument about Homelander and Ryan, if you go back you can see after the guy got on his knees and apologized Homelander whispered something to Ryan and that’s when Ryan told the girl to slap him. So Homelander definitely encouraged him to take a violent approach in that situation but for now we don’t know if that will turn into full blown manipulation or not.
Ep.5 and the video is too low it’s cut off a bit so the subtitles of the show doesn’t show
Frenchie said he was worried kimiko would hate him but more worried she wouldn’t ? I was confused at first but I guess that means he wants her to hate him because he feels he deserves it, because he hates himself...
good one. i took it as he WANTS her to hate him so that its easier for her to detach herself from Frenchie and his ticking-time-bomb lifestyle. ultimately he wants to keep her safe and knows thats only possible by having her want nothing to do with him, which in result assures her safety (or at least the guilt of anything being his fault)
@@ForzasPanda I dated an addict before and that's what she said she did to me she wanted me to hate her not only for what she's done to me and other people but because she hates herself more than anyone else could and she deserves nothing but hatred because she doesn't deserve any love

Jerry is right.

So we gonna ignore that this man fell jumped out his seat in the bunny seen😂😂
Ngl i’m not a fan of the resolution involving Hughie’s dad. If they were gonna give him Compound V last episode you should’ve rode that plot line until at the earliest the end of the season. Why make that climatic ending last episode just to have him kill ppl in the hospital and die the very next episode. Was it really worth taking this route just to show Hughie could let go of someone by bringing up the Jar Jar situation? Especially when you already set up that potential character development when, first, Kimiko told him she thinks he’s supposed to let him die, and then Butcher that same episode said quit while you’re still behind?
The name of the actor that plays Stan Edgar is Giancarlo btw and notw Gustavo

Don’t see how it’s Hughie’s fault considering his mom gave his dad the Compound V after he had a change of heart to not give it to him.
He's a fucking idiot for not keeping eyes on him all the time. What did he think was going to happen?
The whole point of his dad telling the jarjar story is because hughie can't let go . Which is why he brought the v in the first place. So it's still technically his fault , his mom even said u brought it so I assumed that's what u wanted.

Nothing in this episode made sense. Huey and his Mom euthanize Simon Pegg's character on their own IN A HOSPITAL. Starlight punches Victoria Neumann for a single backhanded comment. The supe-killing virus takes out the sheep in a matter of minutes or hours where on the Gen V show it took several days to kill a human. Somehow Butcher and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character kidnap Sameer and amputate his leg with no one else noticing.
I didn't want to say it, but episodes like this make this the weakest season of the show so far.
Yeah a Buncha writing mistakes, but it’s to be expected cuz of the writers strike
I dont understand how killing the dad is weird, its litteraly the place where its the easiest to take some medicine to kill.
Starlight is litteraly at the end of her patience, she get dunked on since the beginning of the season. It was litteraly aborded in this episode that she lack self control.
Its litteraly not the same virus tho like they clearly worked on it ?

he can want a relationship with him and still be on manipulating him
Agree, I’m sure he’s molding Ryan to be like him but his own version tho and he does actually love Ryan in his own way
for real homelander really love that kid
They keep dropping that liberty things in the background. I think the theory that homelander came from her he may be true. The boys is well known for planting seeds. And the secret lover thing. Yeah they hooked up at herogasm. But no one knows that soldier boy is homelanders dad… bringing stormfronts back up I def think will be a big reveal later that she is homelanders mom.

The moment of Hughie saying goodbye to his dad, especially since Simon Pegg's been part of the show ever since Season 1 was so tragic, and heartbreaking and Im glad they let the moment breathe naturally and allow us to also say goodbye to him in a really emotional scene that Im sure a lot of us can relate to.
Honestly Im like 60% sure that Butchers CIA friend Joe (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) might actually be a hallucination of Butchers mind slowly dieing thanks to the living tumour in his brain. I mean from what weve seen so far no one else has interacted with Joe or at least acknowledged his presence so whats to say he's not a hallucination representing the all the worst elements of Butchers character qnd his deep seated hatred for Supes that hes repressed because of how his love for Ryan, and how much Hughie and the other members of The Boys bring out his humanity.
