- The Saris Freedom 4 Hitch bike rack is a simple and sturdy platform bike rack made to fit a 2-inch hitch. Retailing for $650 on Saris.com, one can find it for as low as $450 on Amazon. At that price range it is a good value when compared to some of the other platform racks on the market, such as the 1Up USA Super Duty or Equip'D which would cost over $1000 for a 4-bike variant. The Saris Freedom 4 bike rack is pretty simple in its construction and features a three point clamping design, with 3 ratchet straps per bike. The Saris Freedom 4 is suitable for most mountain bikes, gravel bikes, and road bikes, but may not be so great for E-bikes and require a different tire tray if you want to carry a fat bike. This Saris rack has been my go-to rack for many years now and for right now it suits my needs very well.

Nice bike rack review. Very informative.
Thanks! What rack do you use?
@@VentureMTB I have a 1Up Heavy Duty now. I did have a Saris before tho. Wasn’t paying attention and backed into a bollard and killed it.
Really helpful video. I was looking at the Kuat NV 2.0 but was worried about how that works with the fenders on my touring bike. Looks like this will be a good solution. Thanks!
Thanks Jason, glad it helped!
If I only want to carry 2 bikes, is the back portion of the carrier removable to shorten it?
No you can’t remove it, its one solid piece of steel
Is this one better than the saris super clamp ex?
What kind of bikes are you trying to carry? And are you willing to spend $400ish more?
can you put a carbon bike on this rack
Yes, should be fine
Only showing 2 bikes on a supposedly 4 bike carrier is underwhelming.
Thanks boss, I'll make sure to go out and buy two more bikes for your viewing pleasure.
@@VentureMTB nice. I like that
