Around 7:00, the music, and seeing the empty seat in your car after you dropped off your daughter, and then hearing you ask, "Why are there no tears?" and then it did hit you right after, was very moving. It made me think to myself, at least he has this moment of loss, and separation from a daughter. I myself have no family of my own, and I wish I had that moment of separation. But anyhow, I'm just "reminiscing" about a life I want, but may not ever have.
It was a very moving part for me, too. When I was editing the video, I had the same feeling of loss. You must have family and friends..... your day of loss will sadly come.
It was good to see Chloe again and the Cat. This was quite a moving video I wish Chloe all the best in her new life and as we have seen your making a great start in your new life in Thailand. Cherish the time that you had together nobody can take those memories away and enjoy the future.
I'd love to see Chloe again mate but the trouble is, we're nearly 6,000 miles apart now. Saying that, it feels like she's still living in the spare room because we send messages nearly every day. Very fond memories of some very special times :)
It's unfortunate but we're 4,500 miles apart now. I'm fine with phone calls and voice messages, which we exchange virtually every day - she's a daddy's girl for sure.
It's amazing what you can tolerate as a parent, the cat crapping in the car is quite disturbing, but very funny to witness, from a distance,..... Upwind
cloclo, there she is ............... hope she's enjoying the 'overseas' adventure. Hope you both are doing what you love to do and making memories for later!!
I've done that trip about 15 times now, across the channel from London or Lancashire to Budapest where I live now. Will drive back to UK again this year to see family and friends and just enjoy the drive in a Tesla. Last time was in December, and did 3,500 miles in 10 days. No range anxiety. I do miss the UK sometimes, especially the places where I grew up as a child, but after 25 years away and 13 years of Tory destruction it has become a different country. Best of luck in Thailand Tony, if I end up there too, I'll give you a shout! 🙂
Cheers Andy, you've been here for some years now so you know me pretty well. Strangely, I don't miss anything about the UK except my family and flowers. I don't see many flowers over here because it's always green and flowers don't naturally grow here, but I do send daily messages to Chloe and I video call my Mum every Sunday for an hour. If you decide to take the 17+ hour journey over here, I'll sort your accommodation out mate 😉
wow...! What you're going through is exactly what I'm battling with in the USA. I want to quit and sell everything too and move to Thailand. The only problem is leaving my daughter back in the US. Seeing her maybe once a year if I'm lucky if I move is going to be very hard.
It is very hard but (as I always say) how long do you wait? I've lived here for 8 months now and I don't feel like I'm missing out on my Daughter's life because technology has made the world a very small place. My advice is to talk to your daughter, ask her if she minds and I can guarantee that she won't. After that, drop me an email and I'll help you all I can (no fee) vortecks2000@gmail.com Tony
4:07 Holy shoot. I didn't know that was a thing! I didn't know car loaded up onto trains like that to travel. :O Mind blown. Thank you for sharing that for this middle-aged man to see for the first time. Anyhow, I hope your moves to Thailand has been good, though it is so far away from your daughter.
Cars on trains is one thing but it goes under the sea for over 30 miles. I've lived in Thailand for 10 months now and it's been good. I do miss my daughter but we keep in touch throughout the week and I know she's safe and happy which i all I care about.
@@Vortecks Oh, wow. Thank you for the added info about it going under the sea, too! Crazy, the time we live in. I do wish I could live forever to see what other wonders humans will create. Oh well. :) Also, glad to hear it has been good for you in Thailand, and that, even though the distance, you are able to keep in touch with your daughter (another nice technological advancement we have), and know that she's safe and happy. That's all a loving father wants. Cheers!
I hope your daughter gets on ok Tony. You are lucky, you have something that I will never have, I have two grandkids that aren't mine, but I love them just like my own.
Chloe is fine mate. She's continually made me a very proud parent and she continues to make me proud even though we're nearly 6,000 miles apart. She texts/voice messages me nearly every day and tells me how she's doing so she's still here with me. Enjoy the grandkids buddy, surrogate or not, they bring happiness and they also make you feel younger.
Until ur a father and see your kids leave- you can never experience that feeling of loss - but it means uv done your job well so b proud & now its ur turn - enjoying the vids Tony, keep going !
It was a very hard part of my life and I'm glad I took videos to remind me how proud I felt on that day. She's doing far better than I could have ever wished for now :)
Belgium is beautiful, I hobbled around Leuven and it made me so happy to see that they'd kept all their historic values, unlike the UK where they don't care if something of historic value falls down.
I now live in Thailand and Chloe lives in Belgium but we exchange voice messages or videos almost every day. This video was posted because it was the turning point in my life and now, I'm in no pain.
As a train driver I can't let that slide...lol. "That" is a 9400 bhp locomotive with a max of 90.000 pound force of traction. Easy peasy pulling max. 2600 tonnes with that.
Well, I wasn't expecting a train driver to ever watch my videos, let alone comment on it :) Thanks for correcting my uneducated mind, I actually like it when people take the time to educate me on something I know nothing about.
Cheers mate, technology has allowed us to be very close although we are 5,800 miles apart. Chloe sends me texts and voice messages almost every day about daily life and what she's doing. I'm a very proud parent.
@Vortecks I know how u feel mate our youngest daughter moved out earlier this year. Not quite the same as you as she still lives in the same town as us but not seeing her every day or even every week is horrible. She is only at the end of the phone but it's not the same is it.
@@Vortecks I wish you would sort out these wildly different mileage differences out, its a bloody good job you weren't involved in building the channel tunnel lol.
30 minutes to do 31.5 miles (50km). The making of the tunnel was the best part, the meeting point was only out by 30cm (1ft) horizontally and 8cm (3in) vertically.
Yeah, it's a hard time mate when they do leave. She was looking at flying there but I didn't want the cat to be locked in a cage under the seat. I'm so glad I took her in the end, it gave me time to adjust and time to reflect on my own life - this was the turning point for me which is why I posted the video.
Who's peeling onions? I've probably got all this to come in the not-so-distant future - not sure how I'll handle it to be honest, the world's changing.
It was the hardest thing I've ever done mate, both physically and emotionally but I'm glad she is where she is now. I came to terms with it quite quickly but it was very hard to come home to an empty shell of a place where she used to live with the cat. Sadly, you've got all this to come mate. I'm sure it'll be fine, females are very tough nowadays and they're not the same as the fragile things that we wanted to take care of a few years ago.
Managing to get rid of your kids is... fraught. Great to get the painful little sh*ts out, yet you miss them terribly. Then, after a while, you get used to being on your own, & realise quite how liberating it can be. I feel you, mate. I am in a great place now, (& I don't mean a home for the mentally challenged! 😂). 👍
Well done mate, they do all leave eventually, when they have been raised right, and are able to.... You are also gaining what you need ATM. So, this is not a goodbye but, most probably a see you later?
Yes mate, it's not a goodbye (I don't think I ever said that to her). She's still very much in my life, we text/voice message nearly ever day and she tells me how she's getting on. She's got 2 cats now and loads of plants, they're very much a family now.
I'm curious to know what Chloe is getting up to in Belgium now . Oh, and stop talking about what you're going to do with the rest of your life Tony as if it's ending soon. I'm holding out for them to invent an eternity pill. Don't laugh it will happen .
They've proven that the universe is never ending and I have a theory about life - You have an infinite amount of lives in parallel universes which are on a 4th dimension, each time you die, you leave that life but continue into the next. All the people you've left in your previous life are mourning you but you know nothing about it, all you can see is the thing that killed you is actually a near miss but you've recovered. When people say that they see ghosts, they're actually just an reflection in a parallel universe. I have died plenty of times......... Chloe is doing far better than I could have imagined, she's got a job, striving for a career and also being a very good housewife sort of person.
Sending blessings and happiness to Chloe and the Cat. 👩🐈⬛ We can only cherish the time we are given with loved ones Tone and that change is all around us but that we can still be rest assured that love runs over mountains and high waters. ❤🏃➡️⛰️🏔️🌊🌊🫂💗 Onwards and upwards my friend and remember life is definitely worth living.
