The original Battlefront 2 had such a fun campaign. Playing as a clone and learning more about order 66 through the perspectives of the 501st while slowly rising to The Empire. Truly remarkable.
I conflicted, I love the idea of the chip and every clone being in on it. Both are still so potent and tragic in their own ways. I don’t know if I’ll ever decide which version I like the most tbh.
I prefer the chips simply beacuse i've grown so attached to the Clone Wars version of the clones. The idea that they secretly waiting for Order 66 isn't really compatible with it
Not to mention it doesn't make sense that after fighting alongside the Jedi for years entire clone legions massacred them without a second thought or the slightest bit of hesitation and internal conflict.
Kyle the ONE person you failed to thank is Albin Johnson the creator of the 501ST ! Over twenty years ago The 501st stormtrooper legion star wars costuming club was the brainchild of Albin who wanted to create a star wars club for people who loved star wars and everything Imperial. To honor his father who fought in WW2 with the 501st parachute infantry regiment of the 101st Airborne,The 501st Stormtrooper legion was born. If it wasn't for all of us in the early days of the legion trooping all over George would've never noticed But as you know that wasn't the case and the rest is History
Would’ve been cool if Battlefront 2 2017 tried its hand at the personal Log entry’s. Seeing the Saga from the perspective of a Soldier presents quite an interesting point of view.
This is why the EU is legendary imo. Tackled literally every part of the galaxy and every era, something for every fan. I hope new canon reaches its heights someday.
"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word."
You know... it would be interesting if there is a canonized version of the Kaminoan rebellion in the Bad Batch. Kaminoans experimenting or making contingency plans with either defective troopers or troopers that did not have inhibitor chips prior to birth.
It would be insane seeing the new empire facing down the Wookiees, also might explain how Gungi survives (this is from a year ahead of time lol, hope you see it because I definitely agree)
I would’ve preferred it if that clones didn’t know that eventually they would have to kill the Jedi or had inhibitors chips. I rather it just be order issued and clones had to decide where their true loyalties lie.
This is a great recreation of those voice overs, the visuals fit perfectly, though I still do like the chip explication since it's less messed up then the original implication that the Clones where sociopaths. This could still kinda work in the canon if you view it as the clone rationalizing the events long after the chips degradation.
@@ThespianPrince13 Indiscriminately kill your commanders, no survivors. Is not a legitimate command. (outside of decades spanning dictatorships) Especially given how loyal to one another the Jedi and Clones where shown to be and how much both valued Republic ideals. After that was established, Order 66 could only make sense as a Manchurian Candidate style embedded instruction. It also retroactively explained why Cody's attitude suddenly shifted in RoTS after friendly chatting with Kenobi, and giving him back his saber, moments prior.
@@Avenger85438 yes and breeding a slave army programmed since birth to obey the commands of the superiors without question doesn't make them sociopaths. It makes them slaves who don't know any better. The chips just give Dave filoni a chance for his overpowered original characters to seem even smarter than the legacy characters like Cody. Rex is already overpowered enough, now the number of clones who disobeyed order 66 is drastically reduced because of the stupid chips. Protocol 66 was a legitimate thing. The Jedi tried to arrest palpatine without a warrant and then attempted to kill him after he was disarmed. In the eyes of the Republic they are traitors since being a sith wasn't illegal, much like some of the other emergency orders including one to arrest the chancellor and ones that dealt with uprisings. It would make sense in a society with magic wielding space monks, who have a large amount of political power, that there would be a protocol to eliminate them if they became a threat.
I’m confused though, how would there still be an original 501st clone still fighting AFTER the first Death Star? Anakin was like 20-23? Wasn’t he nearly 50 at the time of Hoth? I suppose Cody or whomever could still be around? But guess I never imagined there would be any around all those years later.

Maybe they had chips that forced them to do it
But they already knew they were gonna be forced to do it
I don't like the chip idea.

So much better than stupid chips...

The Yavin Orbit one gave me chills, awesome reaction

I think where it said Scarif in the video it was actually Polis Massa in the game if memory serves correct
EVERY TIME I watch one of his videos and he begins by saying "Hello, Kyle Katarn here", I say back, "Kyle? KYLE KATARN?!"

Me whose never read the comics or played Jedi academy: W H O A R E U??
me to lol
Its a great video!! I liked seeing new canon stuff in the video!
Never liked the chips, tbh that’s what made me fall off 2008 clone wars, always preferred the Clones simply following their contingency orders.
I voiced over the 501st Journal. I uploaded it if you feel like reacting to it. Would love to get your feedback on it.

why does every video not include polis massa,or the battte of naboo..is it not canon?
