No Fair Learning From a God || Vampire Academy

So as far as I'm concerned, this is the ONLY Vampire Academy screen adaptation that exists. I get that it wasn't super close to the books and played more as a comedy but at least it didn't completely butcher both storyline and casting. The mythical tv show version if it existed would have pissed me off within the first twenty minutes and got turned off after a lot of expletives flew at my television screen (and I generally at least finish a single episode before I turn something off). I think I understand how Vampire Diary book fans felt after Julie Plec got her book butchering hands on their series.
But luckily, we just have this and nothing else will ever exist to ruin an amazing book series by putting several books worth of information in a single episode and butchering characters and relationships for God only knows what reason.

I love the song choice! I like the show, is it perfect? No. Entertaining? Yes. I also really liked the film, even with its flaws, though some would argue the casting is wrong in it too, especially for Rose and her ethnic background. As for TVD, the author got replaced because the publishing company didn't like how she wanted to take her own series so they fired her and replaced her with a ghostwriter. The show couples are closer to what she originally wanted. So really the books were butchered when the actual author was fired, not the TV show butchering the story.

Thank you. I honestly didn’t find it entertaining at all, I was too busy being pissed off that they were butchering the plot, combining characters into one and putting other characters where they they didn’t belong (dashkov, Mia, Natalie, Karp) and all in all ruining a series I have loved since the beginning. The changes they made don’t make sense and aren’t minor things so it’s not something I can get past. I did tell people I spoke to that I’m sure as a show they would like it but if you are watching it because you love the books, it’s not even the same story anymore.
I love Zoey as Rose but I can understand people complaining about her, but the same argument can be made in reverse for Lissa in the show. Or the accents of Dimitri and Rose in the show.
Honestly I brought up Vampire Diaries not because I know anything about the books but because the same person was involved and I know it ended up being nothing like the books.
We can agree to disagree about the show though because I won’t watch any more than the first twenty minutes of it. I’m someone who ended up donating in attempts to get Frostbite, so I’m pretty upset that for me they ruined the show to a point that I won’t watch.
