Grateful VIbes..... I'm definitely looking for a strategy. I've been giving myself, my talents, my Healing Arts away for decades and am a retired RN that wants to facilitate healing for others. I'd like to make big purchases now that I'm retired to travel to Health & Wellness Festivals to set up a 10 x 20 tent for teaching, consulting and facilitating healing events. #3 is me. I'll need a reliable RV to make it happen. I'm getting tired of the tent setup and have too much equipment to bring to these events. I want to do what so many people have been telling me to do for decades.... but with some benefit for me so that its not all out of pocket. Thank you for the content. 💜💚💘💙
Beware the non-profit con. You not having money can be as good for someone as them having more money. You and I want a soda, you have $1, I have $2. The soda costs $1 or $1.01. You have $0, I have $1, the soda costs as little as the bill can be split, provided the seller will take the best offer.
Thank you for the great video. In the video charities for women and children were mentioned. Would a charity just for men's issues fall under a 501c? Such as scholarships for boys or education for men in particular?
Glad you enjoyed the video! That's a great question. I recommend you reach out to my team for a full answer. You can email us at nonprofits@andersonadvisors.com.
All the profit from the business would belong to the charity/foundation. If it sold $100k worth candles and made $50k profit, then that $50k would be divided up between the causes your foundation wants to support. There's a 5% rule that basically says you have up to 20 years to divvy out that profit. And it repeats the next year.
Your organization cannot be engaged in a business even if the profits are donated to a nonprofit. The sale of candles sounds like a business and would not qualify for exemption (unless there is an exception) even if the profits are donated to a nonprofit.

Can a non profit sale or maintain business for gains and donate a % of sales?
Example: Sale candles, create profit to gain and donate a %.?
