I think there’s two sides to it, I cried the entire lineup for tower of terror when I was like 4. I absolutely hated it, cried the entire time, and even peed my pants. BUT through my life went on every ride (except for drop towers) at every other theme park I’ve been to because I know nothing is worse than tower of terror in my eyes. I have 0 fear for other rides because I wasn’t scared to try other ones knowing I had done the worst one.
My younger cousin is 10 and has severe anxiety, he enjoys the ride once we’re on it but will cry the entire lineup and tell himself he doesn’t want to do it. He tried everything but Tron, space mountain, and Everest on our last trip! Cried in the lineup for minions at universal to give you an idea 😂
This even extends to characters. Parents will sometimes hold their kid in front of characters, and continue to approach as the kid is squirming, occasionally ending off with their kicking ending up pounding the chest of the character. Uncommon, but uncomfortable.
Good job on tying in your personal story with the warning, as a mother and grandmother I 100% agree.
I can't wait for you to go to Paris but I love this series so much I don't want it to end!

How casually Emma sat eating tie-dye cheesecake - and not realizing “I don’t wanna wait” by Paula Cole was playing…and she told Sage she didn’t know the song. I so wanted to reach through the screen and call it out!! 😉
My daughter had the same reaction to Tower her first ride. I felt like a horrible Mom. When she calmed down, she admired it wasn’t THAT bad. Within 30 minutes she begged to ride it again. Now, it’s her top 3 rides. I agree with not forcing but I feel like the first adrenaline rush is a lot for them to process. She also LOVES your videos and always says Emma is her favorite.

I love that guy ducking at 8:37 as he goes past the Toy Soldier drumline, it was just randomly amusing, especially as he was almost past.
When you’re just learning to ride “scary” rides (rollercoasters, ferris wheel, Tower of Terror, upside-down rides, rides that go,way up in the air), it is SO IMPORTANT to start small with something that will not scare. Otherwise, there may likely be a long-term effect, and you will miss out on the thrill of these types of rides later in life.
Not I don't want to wait playing in the background 😂

Im intrigued how single rider will work on Rise. Seems like you'd have to skip the first half of the experience tonget to the part where singles would be helpful.

I understand getting forced to ride something. When I was about 7, my aunt forced me to ride a coaster that went upside down by myself, for the first time. I didn't ride another coaster at all for almost 10 years. One of my favorite "quotes" I've seen is: "No is a full sentence." I feel like that applies to any age, and any part of life.

Might give Tower of Terror another shot this year. I have road it many times.
Just not a fan to sit in the front. Also in the 2021. I didn’t get sick but forced myself to go on with a bad migraine.

Please let your child skip out on a ride if they’re uncomfortable 😭I saw a similar situation on Seven Dwarfs. A family (with a lot of people who could have sat out with the child) was forcing a little girl to ride. She was screaming and crying and finally they get to the final exit before load and they told her they would leave but instead grabbed her and made her get on the ride 😓😓😢. It was awful to watch. My mom and I still talk about it because of how uncomfortable it was. I did not get to see the girl after the ride. I hope she did okay, but the family’s behavior was unacceptable
So sad when parents force their kids to go on rides they don’t want to go on. It doesn’t go well for anyone! No judgment just like Emma said utilize rider swap! Coming from a parent myself

Great message Emma. I see so many kids in Disney who have parents forcing them to do something they don’t want to do. I know you want to make them happy and make fun memories, but Disney is SO overstimulating, even for me at 28 years old! I know it’s expensive but it’s better to skip out on something than possibly cause a meltdown. 🩷
