Really enjoyed this upload, had it on VHS but not seen it for years. I remember sitting in maths at school wondering how Rowe and Evans were getting on in the final round! 20 years ago, jeez :-/
A brilliant driver, but I've always felt sorry for him - being overshadowed by Jimmy and Colin in the family. My favourite is Dave Metcalfe, the Vauxhall Nova/Astra works driver in the late 80s+early 90s - he seemed completely, utterly fearless at the wheel - always a joy to watch!
Why the focus on the bigger names of the rally championship Instead of the privateers Those privateers were are the backbone of rallying yet not a mention It seems that yet again the so called stars have the focus
I grew up with Martin Rowe on the Isle of Man. I can assure you he is neither a smackhead or a yob. He was an exceptionally talented motorcycle rider in his youth, being one of the few kids who could hold a candle to Steve Colley on a trials bike. It's okay not to like someone you don't know, but don't go making cheap accusations based on your prejudice.
Another driver I don't like won this championship and even worse a French car manufacturer won our championship A bad year for British rallying as a whole
who feels nostalgia of playing rally championship 2000 ? :)
I met the Renault team testing in South Wales during this season. The Megan’s will forever be one of my favourite rally cars
The Mégane is actually my favourite F2/Kit Car.
Thank you for the upload! 1998 was a season I've never watched, so now I've finally ticked that box.
Thank you so much for sharing this relic
great upload :) iv watched this season on VHS many times .. many moons ago haha
Same here. Gutted that the 1999 season is nowhere to be seen on UA-cam. Can't get it on DVD either.
When rally racing coverage was about the sound of the engine, and commentary was only about the sport.
Thanks for the awesome upload!

The Sierra Cosworth makes the same turbo noise in Dirt Rally 2.0 lol!
1:59:38 My Mitsubishi
I Had To Do Awful Things To Pay For Her
Rowe made excuses about conditions
He's a professional driver
awesome!! thanks
My all time favourite driver has to be Alistair Mcray

Thought the coverage was very rude to the competitors, should show more respect to the drivers and co drivers risking their lives in the stages

Because virtually no one is interested in the privateers, outside of their close circle of supporters. Duke made this to sell videos.
You have a lot of negative things to say
Two drivers I dislike and always will are Rowe and the Lancasterian Honda driver
I'm absolutely sure they are smackheads/yobs

Front wheel drive are boring from a spectator point of view’ all proper rally cars drive through the rear
