I know this is an old comment, but I completely agree with Brenden A. All of the mean comments about Aretha simply aren't necessary. This is pretty much how she always composes herself at these types of shows. Even when a tribute is being done in her honor, she is still very subdued and doesn't show much emotion. i don't think it's because she's mean, or jealous, or self-centered or anything like that. I think she's just one of those people who doesn't show much emotion when she's not on stage performing herself.
