    Wouldn’t there be a recording of the disciples baptizing their households immediately after Christ instituted this ordinance?
    If I understand Presbyterian covenant theology correctly they believe Jesus replaced circumcision with baptism. So would the disciples have assumed that circumcision was the sign of the covenant for any of their children? But what about their wives? We don’t have any recording of what the disciples did with their own households.

      Depends if you believe in believers baptism.

      I'm sure they preached and taught their wives all that Jesus commanded. Circumcision is of the heart and baptism is of the Holy Spirit; physical acts of each is non-salvific.

    Listening now and so far I agree with you. Probably will to the end. For me the difficulty is not the doctrines of grace or baptism. The title of your presentation is “Baptist Covenant Theology”. The word “covenant” refers to replacing, supplanting or superseding to me. That’s where I’m stuck. I was in the PCA for over 15 years until I couldn’t stand the overt disdain for the Jewish people anymore. I’m honestly, respectfully asking. What do you mean by your use of the word “covenant”? Thank you.

      A covenant is a vow made between two or more parties that established how a relationship between the parties interact.
      A wedding is an example of a modern covenant.

      I was a member of the Free Presbyerian Church (North America) for 16 years and never experienced or heard of any disdain for the Jewish people. Maybe it was just the church you were in perhaps.

    The Word “Baptize”:
    Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water when they read the word "baptize" in the text. Based on the above, what is the one baptism of our faith found in the passage below? How many times is the word "Spirit" found in the passage, and how many times is the word "water" found in the passage?
    Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
    Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
    Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
    Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
    Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

      I see. Yeah similar to the 144,00 it is not the exact number of the elect of Israel but a mere symbol of completion that God has saved all whom he wills out of every nation which is then pictured in the following segment of John’s vision.
      What was your issue with reformed theology (or covenant theology) as it pertains to Israel? Just curious.

    • @Amilton5Solas

      @@brettmagnuson8318 yes the book of revelation is mostly symbolic.
      I was under dispensationalist theology when I wrote this comment.
      I’m 100% reformed now.
      I use to believe that Israel was separate from the church. And that a lot of what God promised Israel wasn’t fulfilled yet, now I see those things fulfilled in Christ.
      I have a Christ centered hermeneutic now which I love.

      @@Amilton5Solas so you could say it isn’t impossible then 😁. That’s really cool that God through illumination gave you understanding!
      Yeah the nation of Israel really can cause a lot of hang ups. The kingdom of God by Jeff Johnson was extremely helpful for me on that topic.

    [They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, " Our Lord is God " And were it not that God checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of God is much mentioned. And God will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, God is Powerful and Exalted in Might.

      This is the point christians are free of the prison you and others live on.
      " For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2.8-9
      Your works won't save you or grant you deliverance from God's wrath.
      Repent and believe in Jesus, the Christ, only mediator between man and God, the one revealed in the Bible.
      There is no salvation outside Christ Jesus.
