My only daughter was diagnosed in 1997 ,she was 20 yrs old. Her name is Shannon and had headaches a your prior to her diagnosis we thought she had mirgraines and was told she did . The day she was given a CT scan was a Thursday and died on Friday. This now has some good news in treatment for the brain cancer 25 yrs later but we were so shocked at the loss of our daughter so quickly
I think the wife is exhibiting much anxiety and perhaps some denial. I wouldn't want to be in her position especially with 10 kids. They have a large family so chances are she is getting alot of help that she will need moving forward. Sad story.
My nephew had the same tumor. He was seen at Duke University Hospital and went thru clinical trial. They injected the Poliovirus into the tumor. Today he is heal completely given God all the praise and glory. Praying for your healing and strength for your wife and family 🙏🙏🙏
Interesting you say that. My father had polio as a young man so when he went to the hospital at 77, they were treating him for Post Polio Syndrome, but he had Glioblastoma. It was too late for any treatment by then and he died a week later
That should be illegal - suffering through the illness as a child, but then finding out in the 80s that it doubles back on you as post polio syndrome, but then getting brain a brain tumor that the thing you battled repeatedly in your life can help your brain tumor, but it really just makes it worse. I believe it was stated best by Depeche Mode, but "I think that God's got a sick sense of humor, and and when I die, I expect to find him laughing." All the best to you and yours.

Thank you for this video, still helping people from heaven. I’m praying for you, Carrie, and your family, and for all reading this/dealing with this diagnosis. My 89 yr old F-in-law was diagnosed 6 weeks ago, given a rosy prognosis but after surgery, the doctor’s demeanor completely changed. It went badly & he couldn’t read, walk, was incontinent, and spoke mainly gibberish. He was so unhappy and angry that his “children” let him do the surgery. He asked them to kill him & wanted to die. He did last week. We thank God that he is out of his misery. Blessings to all of you, and to God be all the glory! We know where Brandon is, and you will see him again!

She underwent radiation & chemo but ultimately succumbed 18 months after her initial diagnosis with us by her side. I know they’ve made great strides in the last 5 years when it comes to research & finding successful treatments for glioblastoma. I pray that you’re doing well. You’re so young.🙏🏼❤️
My thoughts and prayers remain with your family. Can't help but be concerned d/t no update. Please let us know there are those of us who truly care for y'all.
Sending prayers and lots of love to you both. I lost my partner to GBM a few years ago, he was 42. The symptoms leading up to diagnosis have a few similarities, although his prognosis was bad from the beginning (inoperable, unable to tolerate chemo) It's great that you are doing so good. Keep up the fight against that fu*ker, I have a feeling you are going win that fight🙏❤
My husband was suddenly diagnosed with Glioblastoma but it was inoperable. He did radiation and chemo but he only lived 11 weeks. God Bless You and your family.
Best of wishes to you! My father was diagnosed with a grade 4 GBM (non methylated) in October 2018. He recently started Optune after finishing the standard of care. I highly recommend anyone with a GBM speak to their neuro oncologist about it.
Filip Andersson What kind of asinine ass leaves a comment like this? One viewer was trying to leave a supportive comment for a man (and his wife) who’s fighting for his life and you come along and leave the words “it’s a death sentence” on here?
My prays are with you all the way from the uk 🇬🇧 to you your family. my mum had glioblastoma and sadly she died last year, stay strong live laugh love and makes lots of memories.
My dad has been hospitalised last Friday (14 apr 2023) they suspect glioblastoma grade 4. He had a surgery on Monday 17th April 2023). They removed as much as they could and we are waiting for biopsy. He completely lost his vision on left eye. He also sometimes talking gibberish. We are planning to complete radiation and chemotherapy. I’m praying every day for him. And I pray for you too
Hey Lina if you don’t mind me asking. How is your father today? My father got the news he’s in stage 4 just two days ago. He’s done one surgery.. I have a bad feeling his declining too fast. I’m starting to accept his fate even though it’s breaking my heart. Sending you prayers ❤️💔
It’s not possible to remove a glioblastoma for 100% with surgery because it as part of the name in GBM4 the M is for multiforma meaning it has tentacles that dig into the brain like the roots of a plant into the earth. This is probably why they always come back. My late husband had the initial tumor removed but it grew back and later he had 3 more tumors in an other part of the brain. He lived for 28 months after the initial diagnosis. He died in 2020 aged 63.
10 kids and driving so for to work and back each day and then staying up late to take care of those kids must have been so stressful. 😩 Rest in peace , Now it’s now on her .
Prayers to you!!! My father was diagnosed July 4th of 2011 and passed away Oct 31st 2011. He was 74 years old. Thank God treatments for this have advanced so much since then. My dad was fine on July 4th went to Sam's Club got ribs for dinner my mom said he was home sitting at the table drinking a beer when she left to go shopping and when she came back an hour later he was still sitting there and when she spoke to him she new right away something was wrong because he couldn't form any kind of sentence he was speaking just nonsense. She called 911 and he was diagnosed later that night.
Stacey my dad the same he was 74 and was fine but then fell down in garden and diagnoses same day and we lost him a few months later my mum was 68 and we lost her a month before his diagnosis which came out of the blue it's tough just wanted to say how similar our dads story's are lost him in 2020 my thoughts are with you xx
Brandon I am very sorry you and your family are going through this, I am sending prayers that Gods healing hands will continue your healing process and you will be cancer free after treatment. God bless you and your family. 🙏
Hi I don’t know if you have discovered there is a machine/cap you wear call Optune. I previously ordered for my husband and it specifically was made for Glioblastoma My prayers go up to the throne room of grace for you & your family. Shalom
About 39 mins in you mentioned basically how you’ve been doing great, I am in the same situation! I was diagnosed with GBM following an awake craniotomy brain surgery on July 30. I promise you that your faith and the prayers from those you are close to, those you happened to meet, those you happened to just see, and those you’ve never met who pray for you and even just think positive for you will see you through! I have done the same 6 weeks of low dose chemo and radiation (9/10/18-10/18/18), and last night I took the last dose of the 5th month of 5/23 (five days on 23 days off) high dose Temodar. It’s seriously 50/50 when it comes to faith and prayer vs following the medical treatment available. My own neurosurgeon initially thought I had a grade 2 benign tumor, though the path confirmed grade 4 GBM. I have some speech problems more-so related to memory. For example, I want to say a word that starts with L but I think of all sorts of other words before the correct one comes to my mind. This really only happens if I’m overly tired or while I’m on this high dose of Temodar. I would definitely pursue any possible clinical trials! I am unfortunately not eligible for any at this time, for which I just take as a positive moment from God for telling me that I’m doing too well to take the place of someone who needs a different treatment than the standard. This journey is a change in your life but it is just a time out, I pray for you and your family! That you all make it through to be able to continue to share your story! Help others know what happens and how we go through the process. Without you sharing your story, we cannot even tell that you are cancerous and praise God for that strength!
@@breannedixon9712 Thank you! I have finished all of my treatments! I now just check in with my oncologists every couple months with an MRI and maintaining preventative seizure meds. I really appreciate your kind words!
I just came across your journey video and I just got diagnosed with cancer and your cancer and how are you talking about your journey bring so much to me and know that your Christian and that you’re bound thank you
My prayers are with you both. God is your Healer n he has you in the palm of His Hands. God made you n He knows how to fix you. Keep your faith in God. He’s in control and He knows you better than anybody else.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏Keep thanking the Lord everyday for your Healing.
@@bjkail24 So sorry Carrie. My one hope is that something is found to treat this terrible and deadly form of cancer. I lost my only little brother at the age of 37 in February of 2012 from this killer and not a day goes by where my heart does not ache due to his absence. GBM robs families of joy and laughter by taking the best too soon. Sending you love, light and healing.❤❤❤
Brandon and Carrie,.I've been keeping you in thoughts and prayers the fact that you are sharing your journey with us shows whar strength of character you have I will have a Mass said for you and I will constantly keep you Carrie and your fily in my prayers 🙏 sending 🫂
Brandon passed away in August of 2021. Glioblastoma is a grade 4 tumor--very treatment-resistant. This is one of the toughest cancers to cure---it has a 1% cure rate.
It is truly horrible. Lost my 46 year old husband in 2005 from this cancer. We went to M D Anderson, Kansas City, no treatment helped. He lived 7 months.
My niece was 23, she was in a little fender bender accident. Went to ER, test, more test. Oncology treatment will not cure you, they laid out the side effects. She decided to just make the most of the time she had left. Did not live for her 24th birthday .

My husband (34) was just diagnosed on 3/14 and I’m working on editing my first UA-cam video to document our journey. We are 46 days since dx & first resection. Would love to connect with you.
My good friend diagnosed with GBM and when neurosurgery removed much of tumour. It was sent to pathology and there seems there is a variant of this type brain tumour. She has had treatment finishing her rounds. They found that tumor wasn’t same type as what they later found it in bone. They did auto stem cell transplant. She is 6 months out and is doing much better.
My GBM is completely different; it's in the motor function part of my brain, so I was losing my balance and falling to the right as the tumour is slightly in the left side. My mind has been totally functional, which is why it was so hard to believe what I have.
Husband dx June 13 2019. Had surgery on June 11th and got pathology report as he was being discharged 2 days after surgery. Very devastating time. Sounds like he will be having 2nd surgery soon. Tumor came back before any treatments started but he did go through the 6 weeks radiation and now does chemo.
Brandon, the first visual symptom you noticed was the lights shifting right to left and right to left. Did this visual symptom stay with you continuously, or did it stop? And did it look blurry? The feeling of disorientation and stopping at the green light plus noticing the lights shifting sounded like the start of a seizure. Forgetting things and not able to read the road signs and mental fog was a clear sign that things weren't right. I notice a lot of GBM patients that have posted up their first symptoms and signs on UA-cam have had literally the worst of the worst experiences when their symptoms onset. Lots of reports of either migraine style headaches lasting for weeks on end, throwing up, or having seizures. One young man had auditory seizures where he heard a weird sound/music before he totally spaced out. Bob Moog had issues with moving his arm and even with receiving treatment he didn't live more than 3 months. GBM is a very aggressive form of brain cancer. You were lucky to get all of the tumor resected, it's a difficult tumor to remove since it forms little tentacles that go into the brain tissue. I really hope that you have the right genes and receive the best treatment possible. Not everyone makes it. My heart goes out to you two and your family.
@Busty Blonde Beach Bunny: I had done a lot of research online on the types of symptoms and what other people have experienced through UA-cam videos, in conjunction with undergraduate studies in premed biology. I had concerns that I had a form of brain cancer with having visual disturbances, vertigo, tinnitus, and headaches. Thankfully my MRI results were normal, but I sympathize for people experiencing cancer. I do hope for more development and research in aggressive forms of brain cancer, such as GBM, to help people like Brandon live longer and be cured.
Since then I've some headaches and a couple focal seizures that involved flashing lights. Occasionally, I'll feel light-headed. I'm sorry for your losses. Thank you for your encouragement!
My sister just had surgery and begins treatment soon. Can you tell me a little bit about your brother and his experience (and his caretakers’) during this those five years? Thank you.

My husband was suddenly diagnosed with Glioblastoma but it was inoperable. He did radiation and chemo but he only lived 11 weeks. God Bless You and your family.
My deepest sympathy. God bless you
Prayers for you
Your husband's nightmare journey with GB sounds exactly the same as my Sweet Daddy. I'm so very sorry. 💔
Best of wishes to you! My father was diagnosed with a grade 4 GBM (non methylated) in October 2018. He recently started Optune after finishing the standard of care. I highly recommend anyone with a GBM speak to their neuro oncologist about it.

My good friend from college lived over 10 years with this kind of brain cancer. I hope you can make it!
Hi, April. Thank you for the encouragement! We'll be sure to keep your friend in our prayers.
Filip Andersson What kind of asinine ass leaves a comment like this? One viewer was trying to leave a supportive comment for a man (and his wife) who’s fighting for his life and you come along and leave the words “it’s a death sentence” on here?
@@KP-tn9cq I agree! That's a horrible comment to leave. Messages of hope are what they need.
@@KP-tn9cq I so agree with you..
@@filip1997andersson Thanks Dr Google, I know what I have though.
Lots of prayers and hugs for you all
It’s not possible to remove a glioblastoma for 100% with surgery because it as part of the name in GBM4 the M is for multiforma meaning it has tentacles that dig into the brain like the roots of a plant into the earth. This is probably why they always come back. My late husband had the initial tumor removed but it grew back and later he had 3 more tumors in an other part of the brain.
He lived for 28 months after the initial diagnosis. He died in 2020 aged 63.
I will be praying for you Brandon, Carrie & your family. Stay strong! Sending lots of love from New Alexandria, PA.
Thank you, Denise!
10 kids and driving so for to work and back each day and then staying up late to take care of those kids must have been so stressful. 😩 Rest in peace , Now it’s now on her .
I'm so glad you are sharing your journey. ❤
i already love you two...very best wishes from new zealand.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family for a complete recovery 🙏🏻
Is she still alive.
He passed in 2021.
My husband was diagnosed in July 2011 too. He lived until November 2012. They were not pleasant months whatsoever. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Wow what a life changing journey. Thank you for your sharing.
THERE ARE NEW TREATMENTS EVERY DAY!! KEEP THE HOPE :-)
Hi I don’t know if you have discovered there is a machine/cap you wear call Optune. I previously ordered for my husband and it specifically was made for Glioblastoma
My prayers go up to the throne room of grace for you & your family.

Good luck with everything. Hope you’re doing well
@@breannedixon9712 Thank you! I have finished all of my treatments! I now just check in with my oncologists every couple months with an MRI and maintaining preventative seizure meds. I really appreciate your kind words!

Stay strong, stay blessed and listen to your doctors. You can and will beat this cancer! God is on your side.💗🙏🏼💗

@@bjkail24 So sorry for your loss.
God bless you and your family keeping you in my prayers you'll be one of God's miracles

The original CT was with contrast because one without would be useless. ☝️❤️ they would need the most detailed scan possible before surgery.

Oh, I am so sorry. His lovely wife and children I send prayers. Just wrong, so not fair.
My niece was 23, she was in a little fender bender accident. Went to ER, test, more test. Oncology treatment will not cure you, they laid out the side effects. She decided to just make the most of the time she had left. Did not live for her 24th birthday .

My son was 32 and passed with this also 😢
R.I.P. in the arms of the Lord, 🙏.
It's unfortunate your neurosurgeon wasn't honest with you. I worked for one and he was always, always upfront and honest about the tumors.
I just came into this family. Realize I’m late. Updated please 💜
Sending many Prayers to you and your family.
I’m sorry I didn’t read the year. Carrie I’m praying for you and your family. 🙏🙏🙏
My GBM is completely different; it's in the motor function part of my brain, so I was losing my balance and falling to the right as the tumour is slightly in the left side. My mind has been totally functional, which is why it was so hard to believe what I have.
My sister alena is going through this
She can't move
My husband was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in August of 2015. He lost his battle to this in December of 2016.
We hope and pray that all is going well!
I just had the symptoms for that night. After the seizure, I did not experience that again...
Since then I've some headaches and a couple focal seizures that involved flashing lights. Occasionally, I'll feel light-headed. I'm sorry for your losses. Thank you for your encouragement!
