This is an great story. The acting is excellent. The storyline is awesome. I like the cinema. Your choice of actors and actress is wonderful. I believe them. Thank you for showing me your movie.
Good story. It was plausible. All of the acting was good. Costumes, etc. All good. I believed the characters and actually cared about them in a short time. That's good and efficient character development. You could make a TV series out of this.
I was so drawn into this story, this is what good filmmaking looks like: authentic costuming, great sound mix, excellent acting, gorgeous cinematography. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
What a story you can tell in 22 minutes.. 22 minutes is an eternity when someone has 100% of your attention. Use every 22 minutes you have! Well done to the creator.. 🙌🏻
Such gems prove that art of cinema is alive. Such brilliant results from small time projects and dedicated likeminded group of folks rise a question about film corporations in Holliwood actually choking the substance out of cinema. The surrogate Holliwood had been feeding us with gets increasingly hard to even digest. Why, oh why?
Just found this and have to say it is excellent. When you have a good story, you really don't have to act. That's how I saw this. The actors became the characters. I love westerns and miss seeing good stories like this being told.
Sat down for lunch at work and was looking for something to watch and this showed up in my feed. Decided to give it a try. That was so great! I'd like to see Jim Cody Williams in more westerns.
Circle Street Motion Pictures , mate that was awesome. Music, filming and especially ALL the actors were so convincing. That was one of the best cowboy movies I have watched. Well done to you all. Brent
Been watching a few of these Western short films, and so far this is the best one. Actors look, sound, and feel like you’d expect someone from the 19th century.
I have an immense amount of respect for anyone who can take 20 minutes and tell a story better than another who happens to have unlimited cashy money and 2 HOURS to work with!! Pretty sure back when that writer strike went down, the money men told em all to go kick rocks! They figured we can make comic book movies till forever! They didn't think for a second though, there will be people who are 'starving artists' that will come along and take down Hollywood with a few go pros and a good drone pilot! These shorts are getting better every day!
That was really good. Great little story, acting, camera work, the whole package, and... the best set of whiskers that I've ever seen. Good work all concerned and thanks for letting us see it.
I am 69 years young. I was raised up on and loving Western movies and television programs. Worked on one of my uncles ranch until my very late teens. I have always dreamed of the cowboy life. I am so happy to see westerns coming back into the cinema..
Stumbled upon this by accident. Best 22 minutes I’ve spent in a long time. Absolutely outstanding in every respect! Thank you for sharing your art with us!
What a story! The Characters were built up quickly and precisely in minutes. A feat that no writer's I've known who can do this in cinematography so quickly? I bow to you genius. Thank you for sharing your Art. The acting was awesome.
This excellent western is a little gem that escapes cliche. Writing, acting, photography were all great and the director used them all to advantage in weaving a memorable story.
What a great 'little" film. More guts, brains, and logic than mainstream releases. The score was excellent, as was the acting, editing, and direction. Very well done.
@Riskmangler What a great handle you have! Thank you for watching “Times Like Dying” A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into making this little film. Thank you for your comment! We truly appreciate every view and comment!
I grew up on westerns, and this was one of the finest I have seen. Well done! It felt like it came out of a theater, but just one scene from the middle of the movie or something. I could have watched it for another hour!
That is one awesome short film . I enjoyed it so much that I have watched it twice . Thanks to all of you that put this together for our entertainment.
Wow! That's about all I can say. This one definitely needs to be made into a full length movie. Same actors, same outfits, same everything. One of the best short films I have yet seen and well deserved of all the praise it has gotten and shall receive. Well done gentlemen. Very well done indeed.
@Adam AA Thank you kindly for taking the time to watch “Times Like Dying” amigo. Greatly appreciate your feedback! We worked hard to deliver a solid story! Thank you so much!
Wow. I am blown away. Jim Cody Williams was unreal. "I can still do it! I can get our farm back!" Can't wait for you guys to have a full length feature.
cottonbrad thank you. Yeah, we have had a lot of success on the festival circuit. We've won an award or been nominated almost at every festival we've played. Very thankful to all the hardworking men and women that helped make this film.
As a young boy I grew up on westerns from all the greats like Roy Roger's, the Lone Ranger and John Wayne. I have been wanting something like this for years! This was amazing!
We should all be grateful that we didn't have to pay a dime to watch this took a lot of money in a lot of effort to make this film thank you we appreciate that
The best film that I have seen in... way too long. I am neither film maker nor critic but with a product like this things like cinematography, periodicity and editing are so seemless as to be blindingly obvious. Thank you many happy returns.
This should be shown to students on how to shoot low light/ night scenes. Real darkness whilst still being able to clearly see the central focus. Outstanding. Also serious respect for the black powder pistols. Hope to see more from your team.
@Evil Ian The lighting was the work of our masterful DP, Brad Walker of Lighthouse Films in Wilmington, NC. Thank you for your attentiveness and for the encouraging words. Thanks for watching!
This was really good. What I really liked about the show about the older man, is that he wasn't a bad man, he was just desperate and wanted to save his farm and everything that he worked for, and he saw no other way to do it. I wish they had made a sequel to it.
The acting in this movie was excellent.

Exactly !
The Western Genre is back on the menu!!!
This is the most perfect you can get with a short film
Thank you for this gift. Everything was top notch, which made for one of the most riveting productions I’ve watched in quite some time.
Best 22 minutes of a movie I've seen in a long time.
I’m sitting here stunned. What did I just stumble upon? I’ve never seen better acting in a short film.
Came here by accident. Very well done. Better than some movies ive seen
I was so drawn into this story, this is what good filmmaking looks like: authentic costuming, great sound mix, excellent acting, gorgeous cinematography. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
FANTASTIC study in moral dilemma and Americana! PLEASE tell me this won at least one award! Bravo!
Yep, I have to say that I am enthralled by this gem of a movie. Yes sir, this was a beautiful tale
Good acting, that black nurse maid played a great part, the coughing sheriff was excellent, and white lightning didn't let on to anything
So many of us are trying not to lose everything. Keep your morals in hard first times. Great story.
What a story you can tell in 22 minutes.. 22 minutes is an eternity when someone has 100% of your attention. Use every 22 minutes you have! Well done to the creator.. 🙌🏻
Wow! That just made my day! Thank you! Thank you watching and commenting!
❤
When 22 minutes is an eternity I’m not sure the storytelling is that great
@Guinness It's great alright
Just wow...

I'm 72...this movie is as good as any western ever. Also another take on a heist gone bad.
Stunning! A gripping and timeless story, fantastic dialogue and superb acting by all. Filming and soundtrack were top-notch. So glad I found this.
Fantastic..better than some of the big budget Hollywood movies..well done!!
@Trevor Mills Thank you for kind comment! We worked hard to tell a compelling story with believable grounded characters.

With great short films like these, I have no longing for hollywood anymore!!!!!!

The worst part of this was when it ended.
Great job, most enjoyable.
Thank you & please do more!
Better than most modern movies!
What a great watch, so compelling, I was gripped. I love a film that can turn a story on its head leaving you sympathising with the bad guys.
What a gem. Four movies like this are better than anything that comes out of Hollywierd.........
@DJ Griffin Bless your heart. We really appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching! We love storytelling. Glad that you liked it. Much Obliged.
This is an excellent film. Thank you for sharing…
I’m a city-slicker (Los Angeles), but this film reminded me how much I miss a great “Western.”

Great job.
+ssppeellll we were very fortunate to work with amazing actors. Thank you for watching.
Iwish I could watch these all night long@ thankyou!
Nicely acted. The Sheriff looked like a real mean bad ass you don't wanna mess with when he was sitting down in the beginning.
Thank you for the kind words!
Never mess with Don Frye. Seriously, this was well-done and well-cast. Really superior work.
Now that's how you make a western. Acting was top notch for sure.
Thanks John. A lot of hard work and selfless people.
Circle Street Motion Pictures , mate that was awesome. Music, filming and especially ALL the actors were so convincing. That was one of the best cowboy movies I have watched. Well done to you all. Brent

This is the result when a film is made for love of the craft versus love of the box office. Well done.
Have gun will travel with Richard boone 30 minutes. Some of the best ever.
Palladin,The Rifleman, Wanted Dead or Alive.
I was 33 seconds in and I realized this was going to be better than usual. Great clever voice over to just introduce the robberies.
Best western i’ve seen in a while, Thank you so much for this
This was excellently done, and it was a pleasure to watch. i subscribed, and would love to see more.
Bravo, well done. Actors and actress are 1st class. Many thumbs up.
When short movies are far better than hollywood
Let's keeping making them.
That's correctly spelled Hollyweird : )
Badseed Nut When you use a subordinate clause to write an incomplete, nonsensical sentence but you think it sounds profound.
Luffaman - always an ass in the bunch!

The economy of the old 30 minute Gunsmokes!
This should be a series.

if folks keep making great short films like this westerns will make a great comeback.
Feelings were surely felt in this one!
The dialogue in this film is totally awesome, the actors are genuinely marvelous, the settings are ruggedly impeccable as well. Loved every second!!!
A perfect short film. Thank you.
I had Myke Holmes as a teacher. Great guy. I saw this film Premiere about five years ago and it’s still great!
