Thanks for watching, from all of us at Matt's off-road recovery!
Who else is waiting on Lizz’s build?
And then a Trevor build.
I’m waiting for the MRAP build.
Shes a beautiful smart girl, someone's gunna be very very lucky someday as long as they treat her right
Trevor build first!
Ed needs a HEMTT wrecker
Rudy is painting his rig orange and labeling it Rudy's Off Road Recovery and becoming a rival competitor with Matt. He will also have his own line of kinetic ropes called Spankum ropes. 😁
Or lime green like some of the hats , but that's Lizzy's color
Lol.
Then they can start yelling at each other and get their own show on Discovery and turn into jerks and, ummm, well maybe that's not a great idea.
@@brians48now Can you say OCC? Lol. ;)
@@sebastiend.5335 That's what I was talking about.
I like how you asked your wife "how clean are your clothes", she immediately knew what was about to happen. 😂
I laughed too...when your married to a rancher, you get the gate, when your partner is a mechanic, its 'Can you hold this for a second?'
I think she's heard that question before 😆
Gotta love these women. Jamie, and Michell (from Fab Rats) are the best!
@@zedhead2864 they have both been in that situation, they learned fast🤣🤣
Is the Rudicon track width wider than the Banana?
You can tell Matt runs a good operation by how happy his employees are. They're always happy to put in extra effort. That means Matt treats them well!
That’s being a good Dad. Way to go Matt for raising a good son. Must be proud, more Fathers should pay attention
Love the vids. Me and my grandpa started watching you two years ago now he is like.. is there any more of Matt’s off-road recovery😂
OMG! Rudy's Jeep got modded in three episodes. Meanwile, the Banana took 17,000 years and Robby has established his channel on Banana bodywork.
The best part is those were the first videos that I've ever seen anyone do that much bodywork to a xj lol
That much *professional bodywork lol
In all fairness, putting tons under an XJ is a weekend project, especially when you just get it "1/2 dun" enough to go wheelin (which is how most people leave their trail XJs)
Some of it is the time crunch, they just don’t have much time to film.
Some of it is the fact that this is Rudy’s jeep and he is putting in tons of work but not filming.
Some of it is this is the second xj build in a row and they don’t want to produce the same content again.
Robbys body work is immaculate. I’d like to see anyone do that job with that quality and detail like he is
Just keep this series going and do Trevor's next. He deserves it!
I would love to see that.
If you recall, Lizzy has one coming up...
Hey now Jamie has a Jeep too!
@@ibnfalasteen63 ehhhh, she's more of a pickup truck woman..
@@TRKISH324 if you recall, Matt showed what Lizzys build will be, & Lizzy was standing beside him when he said it. It was the sidekick & Lizzy was excited about it, couldn't wait for it to get done. It's in a video
The four steps to perfect fabrication: 1) File to fit, 2) Hammer into position, 3) Paint to match, and 4) Scrap and reorder.
Technically everything is temporary until it fails and has to be upgraded I haven't been watching your videos for long but long enough to recognize a bit of me and or my friends in you guys
As someone who lives in the salt belt, I’m always astonished by the underside of these desert rigs
I also live in the "salt belt", i have a couple of stock vehicles that are in excellent condition, no rust anywhere, still factory paint that is spectacular condition, all original factory.
Both have over 100,000 miles on them too.
@@timothygeiger8271 You forgot to mention that your vehicles are fairly new. If you had some that were 40, 50 years old then that would indeed be rare.
@@brians48now you don't know my vehicles, so you don't know how old they are. For your information, they are 35 years old, so you don't know anything about me or my vehicles i mentioned.
@@timothygeiger8271 What have you been doing to " save" your vehicles ? My experience in Nova Scotia , in eastern Canada , was that cars rusted quickly unless the were rust
proofed . ( Where are you ? )
@@williameddy1662 i live in the central part of the US. TLC mainly, wash often.
I'm sure everyone had a FUN time at the "Gathering"!! I am getting so excited to see the Gold Nugget on the road again and when Ed sees his ride again. 👍👍👍👍👍
)
Without a doubt, a special group of family and friends who really appreciate their fellow man.
The best show on the internet and let me the first to say , congrats on a million subs! It’s right around the corner!!
Rudy looks so happy his awesome build skills are now building his jeep. Thanks to all Matts specialized training. 😉
Been watching Bobby do his thing to perfection, Paul do his thing pretty laid back, then you guys come on just hectic as can be😂. I love it though
Spray foam welding...I'm definitely keeping that in the memory bank for future use. Love the vids!
...and fabricating! Cardboard and spray foam fabrication? Genius!!
I'm guessing it will be the grey color that's on the Morvair. You'll have the all-yellow Banana, the all-grey Rudicon, and the two-tone Morvair. Maybe.
Jeep should make a Matt’s off-road recovery edition jeep gladiator or something. That would be awesome.
Matt, you have an amazing family and group of friends, you should be proud of that.
Cheers from Tokyo!
Stu
RUDY'S Jeep is becoming an awesome VROOM VROOM JEEP... can't wait to see it finished...
I can see MATT'S, RUDY'S, LIZZIE'S and THE GOLDEN NUGGET.. all at the same time on a trail and rescue..!!!!
Wouldn't it be awesome to take ED on a rescue and the rescue is the GOLDEN NUGGET...????
Derek at Vice Grip Garage would approve of the foam! 😀😃🙂
you could do the inverted colors of the Morvair, would be pretty cool seeing those next to each other :D
It looked good. Glad it performed as well. Keep up the good work. Love the new stance.
I love the updates and the temporary tape was hilarious! I think the Rudicon needs to be a Burnt Sienna color. It will theme with the Banana and compliment Rudy’s awesome hair!
I LOVE these father and son collaborations. It reminds me of the time I spent in the garage with my 3 boys doing car misc. repairs, clutches and engine transplants. BIG thumbs up! 👍. Rudy will ALWAYS remember these times.
Flipping between this channel and Fab Rats there was a remarkable similarity in the work being done and the timescales being worked to. Great work everyone.
If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done :P
8:55 The height really set this jeep apart from the rest of the pack. Way to keep building from stock. 👍
Glad everyone is helping with the golden nugget. I can't wait to see what Ed thinks!!
Saying "fire in the hole" with a fuel tank in the cargo area gives that phrase a whole new meaning.
Its a car that has not been given much protagonism in the channel but it has always worked well and hard in the rescues... sure it will be much better with this work!!
I like the brown! That's Rudy's color. Keep it brown!
I saw his rig in the parking lot of the vendor show, and was surprised of how built it was haha. Cool to see the process!
Bronco Raptor is coming! ua-cam.com/video/4si2dQowuUs/v-deo.html
The builds you guys are doing are so cool. I'd love to see a "lessons learned" bit. We did X because we thought it would be cool. Turns out we should have done Y and Z instead...
Paint it Hunter Green
The Rudicon better be painted Winder YELLOW !!! And we all know which body shop has that colour ready 👍
Really happy for you Rudi... The Rudicon will make history on the next recoveries
You know, I learned something when I was younger for this old timer, aka my dad, when having to lift huge tires roll the tire on top of a large pry bar and lift the handle of the pry bar. Works wonders and also saves from a neck injury in the future 😉👍
Perfect example of a father
I don't see why my father couldn't do this lol
What is there not to love about this
Probably because he was working. Not many of us have dads that own a shop that you happen to work at as well. Just saying. My dad taught me to wrench, but sure as shit didn't have the free time to build something like this.
If he owned a tow company and had a well equipped shop and ran a youtube channel that needs content, I'm sure we would have been doing this too.
@@rallywagon261 umm no my dad left when I was 7 and only came around when he wanted to
I wish my dad did what your dad did at least
Looks like everybody was jammin' to get things ready for this trail ride! I love the "1/2 DUN RUDICON" tags. You're building some really good rock crawlin' vehicles, even if they are supposed to be recovery vehicles. They get the job done!
Odd thing, my 2 year old absolutely loves watching your videos. He's been obsessed with them
1/2 DUN may be a bit optimistic. But it's coming along well. Cool build, fellas!
'Bit Optimistic' would have been a better name!
At least It's driving, more than my project does
That would be a good name for a ford ranger rig. 1/2 Dun. You know so you can say my pick up is a 1/2 dun.
@@eliasschmidt4112 Keep wrenching man. You will get there! And it will be SO worth it!!
1/2 DUN 1 TON Rudicon
Glad to see the upgrade Rudy. You won't regret it. Don't forget the lockers!
If someone asks "how clean are your clothes", I'm willing to bet that's not gonna last long. Lol
Jeep is looking great Rudy! It would look pretty cool in bright orange and look nice alongside the Banana, look up “Skittles Tangerine”, a rare Ford color from the ‘96 Mustang.
Didn't know Tom Tom was from Idaho Falls. That's awesome. - Pocatello Fan
My vote for the color --- > Lime Green (leans towards yellow). That makes the rig appear as part of the Off Road Recovery family, but has it's own unique shade. Love your channel, and all the things you guys do. OK, that was my 2 cents - later!
Mojito Green, factory Jeep color, is basically this.
Green is Lizzy’s color. Boise Broncos Orange is my guess.
@@alexnelson6196 orange is not a bad idea, and it follows the same concept as above.
With bass boat metal flake glitter!!!!!!
Rattle can Camo. Easiest to touch-up.
The Rudycon looks great. The 4x4 jamboree looked like fun. Lookin forward to what's next
I wish i could do things like that and owning a jeep but those dreams are dead but i get to watch you guys having fun
Why they dead?

We had a great time wheeling with you guys on day 2 even though we wish it would have been a bit more challenging. Either way, thanks for putting on the event!
Dunno, Rudy seems the golden person in the family - bright gold with gloss black accents.
And so the legend of the RUDICON begins!!! Digging the look of it - EVEN HALF DUN, the transformation just put a smile on my face! CAN'T WAIT to see the color you decided on!
Hey Matt & Rudy with ALL the Crews !!! Great job of getting to the ""Jamboree"" !!! Hope ALL had a blast there as looked like ALL were well pleased !! Have a good week & More on the build to come ???
I’m guessing he’ll paint an enormous Maple Leaf on it.
Definitely glad to see upgrades on the Rudys jeep. With Rudys skills this thing should be unstoppable.
Y'ALL IN A FAMILY BUSINESS ? PAINT IT BRIGHT YELLOW LIKE THE MORVAIR !
I love the name choice, Rudicon is perfect. Did the cooling system get upgraded?
I like off colors on vehicles so I'm hoping/guessing a rust orange.
Watching all the shots of the trail ride ... the Morrvair, Trail Mater and Pauls FJ45 all just stand out immediately ... they are all such unique and identifiable vehicles!
Is there an echo in here ?
@@haroldphipps3457 You can say that again!
The Rudicon is definitely beefier than before! Y'all are Awesome! Looked like a Awesome time at the get together. Y'all have a great day 🤟
Awesome job and some
Much needed upgrades for the Rudicon! You guys rock!
I'm guessing the color choice is going to be something like cinnamon metallic. A big fat yellow stripe would be just quirky enough to tie it in to the team too!
Banana is looking good over on Robby's channel too!
She looks awesome with those axles in there. Can't wait to see more
Another amazing video. Everybody is so natural with the filming. Just like a friend giving an instructional update on what is going on.
I'm glad I got to see it in person. It was awesome to meet you guys at the lunch event.
Thank You to Mat and Paul and their circle of friends that make us feel at home and part of the action!
Your jamboree build looks a lot like my first truck build. Months of planning, some really good parts, followed by an immediate need to get it finished so it can go to work. Cut, weld, and hammer until it works!
Your on a mission. The Jeep looks amazing Rudy. You and your Dad work well together. Rock climbing with your family. Love it. You all look great out there. Enjoy tomorrow before you tear it down.
I’d love to see a suspension walk through when it’s completed

Hey Matt and crew love your recoveries , especially the snow ones for some reason. What about Ed's lil 4x4 you guys worked so hard to recover. Maybe I missed the final ? GUYS NEVERMIND I found it .😅🇺🇸
Nice job guys, yet another awesome 4 wheeler!! It looks like it will be a great beast. Kudos to Rudy! Take care everyone and stay safe! Jim
Rudy, aren't you worried about burning your golden locks when you weld with out a hat?
Safety is not priority number 1 here ! But fan entertainment is second to none.
This happened to me! lol. Hat fell off, come out from under the car saying to mate i can smell hair burning, he just stands there looking at me when one of the boys runs across the workshop and pats out the smoldering hair!! hahaha
Hey Rudy you're ride looks 👌 "SICK " the front profile looks like a baby f250 4x4 jacked up . Awesome! Can't wait for the final finish and color job on it,those tires are "KILLER " 🤠👍
The Rudicon is a great thing to be happening. Cool thing about yours being done last. It should be done faster and maybe even a little better with as much as you all did to the Banana and Morvair. May not have to do it twice to make it nice. Now just need to get you a few more pony's under the hood.
I started watching your channel about 10 days ago. I started at the beginning and just now am watching the last video. What’s interesting is when I started watching you had 935K subscribers. Tonight you’re at 990K. That’s an amazing amount of growth. It’s also understandable. You’re publishing quality content and reaching a demographic that most networks ignore. I wouldn’t be surprised to see you on the Discovery Channel. Good luck.
I can’t say this enough, what a wonderful family and friends.
It's great to see the Rudicon shaping up! It's looking 🔥!!!! I love the build videos like the recoveries!
Tell Rudy to spray some wd-40 or PB Blaster in the rubber seal on the steering wheel shaft coming in the lower firewall near the pedals. The squeak will be gone when he turns his wheels. Mine done the same thing and drove me nuts. 😂 Thanks again for the videos you share with us! God Bless!
Silicone spray does not stink. Works better for rubber.
Awesome video. I'm happy Rudy has his dream jeep half done. Good job guys
You guys are amazing!! Super videos, always!! It's great that besides the off road recovery entertainment you provide you can still make time to have fun with your family, friends and fans!!!
Love the build and channel! For color I'm betting on navy blue, as seen on the old Winder towing hats and shirts. Would look nice against black accents, and sitting next to the Banana
Hey Tom-Tom..... I was born in American Falls.. Moved to western Idaho town of Nampa for a while then to Cambridge Idaho. I'm old now and have moved to Ohio of all places... God I miss the mountains.
Glad to see Rudy upgraded his axles hopefully they have a locker of some kind in them!
Blessed to have wide open roads in the states so you can run rigs like that. If I wanted to do any adventure riding or off-road in Europe two door short wheelbase is the only thing that will get you through the hilly narrow moutain roads.
I'd vote for the grey that's on the MORRVAIR.
Opposite the MORRVAIR COLORED..... WHEELS YELLOW,..
I’m guessing Rudy paints his Cherokee red, gray or black (or combination of those). Not yellow - that’s a Matt thing. Rudy Red. And he takes all the red Yankum Ropes and puts them in his XJ and leaves the yellow ones for Matt. Can’t wait to see it either way!
So,are you guy's bazzioner's? You spend incredible amounts of money! I enjoy your video's,BUT,you guys spend some huge money!!!
Concrete gray or desert tan would be a great color... I'm glad it's coming together.. great build... Thank you Rudy..
I'm kinda thinking it's going to he the same color of purple as Rudy hat. Tom Tom seemed to glance up when he asked Rudy the color. Like Rudy had pointed at his hat
It's looking good Rudy, you're very lucky to have a dad like Matt!, You Rudicon will be awesome when it's done!
Way to go Rudy Tootie !
What a beast of a vehicle! I love that you guys are always smiling, at least on camera. It’s easy to tell that you’re having fun while working hard!
I have posted this on Robbie and Paul's channel and I think you fellows might need to put your heads together and consider doing a patina style paint job on the Golden Nugget!!
There are so many good reasons to do so and it would preserve it's gold mining heritage. Have you seen it all together, it really doesn't even need paint, it looks great!! I don't know
Ed personally but he may be more apt to use it that way. He might not want to scratch it if it turns out a pretty as the Banana. Done right a patina style paint will preserve the old girl and yet keep her weathered look just like Ed. (respectfully) What ever you do it will be a great tribute to Ed you people are awesome Keep up the great content always looking for new post Thanks
I take my 97 ford escort to the multyservico here in mexico. Super washed and used oil sprayed underneath. 234k miles and runs like new. Anyway who gives a shit.
It's good to see a great father/son team work together in harmony!
