Looking Up at the Half-Moon (2010) - Escape Scene (English subtitles)

半分の月がのぼる空 [Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora], dir. Yoshihiro Fukagawa
Though the script adaptation isn't all that grand, the cinematography and editing shines through (Literally, that's a hella bright (and hazy) movie).
This is by far my favorite scene from the whole affair: the pace is perfect, the character's chemistry is charming and the whole mess outside the hospital at the end sends the scene off with a delicious after taste. It reminded me of a pivotal scene from Sono's Love Exposure.
The movie's cinematography reminded me a lot of Noboru Shinoda's, so imagine my surprise when I discovered Hikaru Yasuda (this movie's cinematographer) worked on Lily Chou-Chou as an assistant camera. That explains a lot, eh?
