@@combatesdeboxeo us who follow boxing do know. .but amongst majority of people he is far from recognised as one of the best heavyweights ever, yet alone THE BEST!
@@Marko28Venom I wouldn’t say the best but definately top 10, he could be one of the greatest if not for his Average chin, an Iron chin Lewis could easily be the best boxer but because of his not great not bad chin, many other great boxers could probably knock him down or out.
@@kiboma4209 I was talking about heavyweights only though and I never said where I would rank him but I will tell you know, he could be anywhere in 1-4 spots amongst all heavyweights.
Top three for me and would be arguably number 1 if not for those two stupid losses. Genuinely his arrogance was his only weakness. I’d make him favourite head to head over any heavyweight in history.
Joe Louis, Ali, George Foreman, Larry Holmes and Lennox Lewis. The most dominant heavyweights of all time. They fought the best and beat everyone. Larry and George were still dominant well past their primes too. They both fought prime Holyfield and were competitive.
@@MrDemi-cf3zt Wladimir klitschko was probably the most boring heavyweight boxer that has ever reigned, in fact I would go as far as to say that his and his brothers reign was the main reason heavyweight boxing was so dull for so long
@@MrDemi-cf3zt I find both of them very disappointing to watch, Because I know for sure how good Vitali was because I watched him fight Lewis and he was dangerous and exciting, and then went on to fight safe and boring, Wlad is legit safe and boring too. I'm not saying they are not good, just boring. I'm not saying the decline of heavyweight boxing is all down to them, but they definitely didn't help my opinion
With that being said, I'll tell you this: When you fight Holyfield when Holyfield is going on all cylinders, if you are a suspect boxer or have weaknesses Holyfield was going to expose them. Holyfield was one of those fighters that required the RealDeal from an opponent in order to beat him, so much respect to Lewis for giving super memorable performances. Thanks for the vid post, excellent work.
Some great KOs in there, its irrelevant who would of beat who Lewis/Ali/Tyson etc as you can only fight whats put in front of you and anyway at their peak they were all outstanding boxers. Lennox Lewis was a great champ in and out the ring which is why he is still respected today and looking at that highlight video we could defo do with a few more like him today.
He could if his chin was strong enough to withstand hard hitters like Shavers, Louis, Liston, or Foreman. Sure he survived Mike but Mike wasn’t even in prime and was a shell of the great he once was.
Much respect to Lewis. For a lot of Americans, Lewis was generally going to be the "bad guy". Instinctively fans switched to Olympic mode where it was viewed as England vs America. Regardless of any of that extra theory, a good fight fan can not deny Lewis was special and I sort of didn't appreciate him and having a cool character like him in the heavy weight division until after his career was done.
Vitali took some big shots from Lennox , and Lennox did open him up . That stoppage was legit . There were fights that ended for much less than that . And that cut of Vitali was not from a headbutt . So that was a fair and square win for Lennox . People coming up with different theories of what happened .... well you can say that Francois Botha could have won against Tyson if it weren't for a lucky shot that Tyson landed . But things don't work that way in boxing . A win is a win !!
This doesn't negate the fact that Holy was whooping Tyson's ass despite the DQ victory and the butts. Tyson even gave him credit for his win. Lennox also said he would retire after the tyson fight and was pulled out of retirement to fight a PRIME vitali... he didn't need to rematch a guy that he FINISHED. You cannot say somebody that took flush shots from many heavy hitters has a glass jaw. Tyson was KOed by Douglas but he isn't considered glass jawed is he now.
no actually even after the cut Vitali still spanked Lennox its amazing that he actually cut vitali though also its lennoxes own fault he didnt train as for vitali he just stays in shape whether he has a fight or not
i know all im saying is that tyson was damaged goods in that fight, even though neither guy was in their prime lennox still had alot left in him while tyson was just fighting for money...
BOKA THE SMOKA But tyson brought that on hiself. he was talking mad trash about lennox, saying that his gonna eat lennox kids. i wouldeve took as threat and beat his ass. but i give both boxers respect and there are both legends
Its called promoting a fight thats just tysons personality, i just believe if the tyson that fought spinks or berbrick showed up it would of been a different story...
Also watching this vid with the Shavers one on the right made me think of a potential matchup. WHat a fight that would be and Shavers would have more then a punchers chance.
the punches Lennox threw could kill a cow and vise versa fight was amazing even when lennox is aging he can put on a good show hes an all time great and wasnt in the best of shape against vitali hes good
It is not worth comparing fighters of different eras because we will never know. What I do know however is that Lewis was in a different league to all heavyweights of his time (including Tyson). His record proves it. He fought the best and beat them all. Annihilated most of 'em. Bowe was terrified of him. So was Tyson. Anyone who thinks Lewis wasn't the best in his era is a clown. Respect to Bowe's intelligence in avoiding Lennox at all costs. Bowe would have been seriously hurt.
You people that think Lennox was a bum clearly need to go do your history. The reason you all THINK Lewis didn't fight some of those guys in their so called prime is because they ducked him. Do your research and you'll see. All those guys are the same age so how are they past their prime and Lennox not be? Maybe it's just a matter of longevity. Btw, I haven't seen many olympic gold medal winners turn out to be bums, have you?
He made short work of a lot of sub par opposition, he also struggled at times against guys who wouldn't stand in front of him. There's no way he makes short work of any version of lewis.
BEST BOXER'S OF ALL TIME (TOP 5). NUMBER ONE IS MUHAMMAD ALI, NUMBER TWO IS SUGAR RAY ROBINSON, NUMBER THREE IS LENNOX LEWIS, NUMBER FOUR IS EVANDER HOLYFIELD, AND NUMBER FIVE IS MIKE TYSON.
Having paper skin is a weakness. You can't use it as an excuse for losing a fight. Lewis opened up his eye AND his cheek from big punches. Lewis was turning it up round 4/5 of that fight. He got booed for no fault of his own. The doc stopped it not him. And in the first fight Tyson got TKO'd. The second fight he was getting straight boxed up by Holy until he got the DQ. There was some BS by Holy but at the same time, taking a massive chunk out of a dude's ear TWICE is also inexcusable.
You also completely forget that Vitali LOST to chris byrd and refused to give him a rematch... instead he retired and ducked until he was in the clear. He's also ducking David Haye RIGHT NOW. Lennox fought a PRIME Vtali at age 39... Vitali has been fighting bums for the past 10 years. There's a reason the boxing experts have rated lewis as high as #3 as an ATG heavyweight and Vitali nowhere close to him because he's been a paper champion his entire career and never earned a legitimate title.
Lennox beat 3 ATG fighters in his generation, 2 of them in their absolute primes (holyfield vitali), and many other top 10 heavyweights. Tyson ducked Lewis until the early 2000s end and Tyson got KO'd by Douglas, lost to holyfield twice in the 90s and the only fighters that he beat of note were ruddock and bruno where Lennox beat ruddock, bruno, mccall, mercer, golota and holyfield . How can you say he was the best of that generation when he wasn't even top 2??? #1 was either Lennox or Holy.
Spinks was a natural LHW so i don't give Tyson that one. Holmes was waaaaaaaay past his prime and would've destroyed Tyson in his day. The only one i think you can make an argument for is Berbick.
Brit ???...he grew up in and learned to fight in Kitchener ONTARIO skip..drove to Toronto every day as an amatuer and trained with coaches Adrian and Arny... and subsequently won gold for Canada as a result of learning to fight in Canada .so as a fighter he is pure Canadian like GSP
Lennox could've be #1 HW of all times If he wasnt so overconfident some times, he definetly lost to Hassin because of that (the Oliver McCall lost was not his fault in my opinion though).

The greatest Lennox Lewis tribute ive ever seen. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Lennox looked so badass with that fade.
He looks like the fresh prince of bel air
Very Kronky style, like Hearns and Mclellan. Beautifull as always
2:10 the most AWESOME knockout I've ever seen
+Robert Brennan I like 4:40 the best
Robert Brennan 1:58 he hit him so hard he fought Jesus was coming to take him away 😂
You must watch the Lewis vs Weaver great KO
1:35 was the best IMO
One of the all-time-greats.
Highlights? More bloody good work of art

Wladimir and Vitali are great aswell. Not as good as Lennox was for sure but very good in their own right and under appreciated IMO.

It’s almost like he chose the stick and move strategy except he moves in one direction- over his knocked out opponent 😂👊🏾

Power and precision. Loved his ringside commentary for Fury-Wilder 2. “He should jab with the jabber.”
I love this song
reznick is a genius, this video is incredible
Whoever made this video is brilliant. He/She should work as an editor. Flawless.
Expect nothing less from reznick
