Hey dude, thanks for the feedback. Let‘s find out what‘s going wrong here. So, the tethered connection got established between your phone and the RG351? And you are connected via AndFtp? So, the error message appears when you try to transfer a file?
Hey dude, sorry to hear. Does your hotspot provide a 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz WiFi network? Please note, that the RG351 can only connect to 2.4Ghz networks. You may have to provide this with your router. Good luck!
I'm sorry my friend. For the RG40XX H the ssh service is not available by default. So this device needs further preparation to get this to work. Unfortunately i don't own the RG40XX H, otherwise i could make a tutorial video for it.
Hey dude, let‘s find out what‘s going wrong there ;) 1. Did you choose SCP as file protocol? 2. What firmware are you running on your RG-device. Stock firmware or did you install any custom FW?
Hey dude, it depends what firmware you are using, but i expect you use stock emuelec. Therefor the login would be the following: login: root Password: emuelec Note: Go to the main menu and select EmuELEC Settings, Ensure "Enable SSH" is enabled.
Hi dude, what‘s not working for you? What device are you using? Please note, login credentials differ between devices and firmwares. Let me know you device and firmware, maybe i can help :)
@@MashTec After doing some research i was able to finally solve login and folder access issue. The tutorial makes it look simple but for average non-tech people it can be devastating.

Sorry you had troubles with it, but it seems like you are using a different device and/or firmware? May you like to share your solution with us? Would be highly appreciated :)
@@MashTec The App itself is almost perfect except for one issue. Google update its security policy yearly, so what works before may not work today. What works for me is to address the issue specifically. If one is having trouble on Login check your SD if its linux, ubuntu, windows-made. It can be quite confusing at first but its the O.S that determines your access. Also, theres an issue where folders are hidden because of G-policy. Well you can find your way around, just avoid deleting stuff as it may corrupt or damage your Emulator files.
On Android you find it here: Open Android Settings > Connections. Tap Wi-Fi, then select Settings (the gear icon) for the Wi-Fi network you're connected to. Tap View more and scroll to your IP address, where you'll see your IPv4 and/or IPv6.

Hi dude, it's not that easy on a RG35xxH, but here you can find a guide to follow: github.com/DeenBaum/rg35xx-plus-wifi-ssh-guide/tree/main
Does this work for dream cast roms ?
Sure, it‘s the same thing dude. Just copy it over to the right folder for the dreamcast roms ;)
Can you just put sd card into phone and copy files over that way?
Hey dude, sure you could do that ;)
Didnt work for super mario world
Hi dude, this method is independent from the media/data/files you transfer so should work with anything you like to download to your device. Did you get any error-message for the failed transfer?
I keep getting an error transfer failed
Hey dude, thanks for the feedback. Let‘s find out what‘s going wrong here.
So, the tethered connection got established between your phone and the RG351? And you are connected via AndFtp? So, the error message appears when you try to transfer a file?
Doesn't connect with my hotspot ;(
Hey dude, sorry to hear. Does your hotspot provide a 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz WiFi network?
Please note, that the RG351 can only connect to 2.4Ghz networks. You may have to provide this with your router. Good luck!
@@MashTec Is there an alternate way to download roms for the RG351
Im using a different device its rg40xx h can anyone tell whats the username and password for this device?
I'm sorry my friend. For the RG40XX H the ssh service is not available by default. So this device needs further preparation to get this to work. Unfortunately i don't own the RG40XX H, otherwise i could make a tutorial video for it.
This will not work for me at all
Hey dude, what‘s the matter? May i help you? What‘s not working here for you? :)
@@MashTec got it working now thanks for the hard work dude
Hey, that‘s great news :) i‘m glad you got it working. Enjoy!
I keep getting AUTH FAIL and invalid credentials.
Hey dude, let‘s find out what‘s going wrong there ;)
1. Did you choose SCP as file protocol?
2. What firmware are you running on your RG-device. Stock firmware or did you install any custom FW?
@@MashTec Yes, I did choose SCP as file protocol. The "Version" on my system information screen says 20210603. No custome firmware. Just the 351ELEC.
Hmm…351elec is a custom firmware and uses different credentials. In this case the login data are different.
Try:
login: root
passw: 351elec
@@MashTec It worked! Thank you very much!
You‘re welcome :)
Glad to hear that it‘s working now!
Works this batocera?
for rg405m? password
Hey dude, it depends what firmware you are using, but i expect you use stock emuelec.
Therefor the login would be the following:
login: root
Password: emuelec
Note: Go to the main menu and select EmuELEC Settings, Ensure "Enable
SSH" is enabled.
@@MashTec doesnt work either. its android version.
Oh, i‘m sorry then. Unfortunately i don‘t own the device, so i can‘t check it.
No longer works, exhausted method or password no longer working
Hi dude, what‘s not working for you? What device are you using? Please note, login credentials differ between devices and firmwares. Some firmwares even require to activate ssh service before you can use this method. Still, the tutorial should work for all devices supporting ssh login. Let me know you device and firmware, maybe i can help :)
@@MashTec After doing some research i was able to finally solve login and folder access issue. The tutorial makes it look simple but for average non-tech people it can be devastating.
@@Uncanny_Move The tutorial works for the shown device with the mentioned firmware exactly as shown in the video. I tried to explain the stuff as good as possible.
Except finding the ip adress is impossible
Hey dude, do you beed help finding your ip address? What phone/OS are you using? iOS or Android?
On Android you find it here:
Open Android Settings > Connections. Tap Wi-Fi, then select Settings (the gear icon) for the Wi-Fi network you're connected to. Tap View more and scroll to your IP address, where you'll see your IPv4 and/or IPv6.
Credentials incorrect. Please help haha
I tried doing this on my ambernic rg355 h and it's giving me a authentication attempt error when I try to connect to the files on my arbenic? Can you help me out
Same 😞
Hi dude, you need to know the ssh login credentials (login/password) of this device. It depends on the firmware you run on it. Are you on stock or any custom firmware?
And what device model? I don‘t know any RG355H, you mean the RG35XX H?
Hello how can i know the ssh login credentials of rg35xxh. Im trying to do your steps. Please help out
@@cjespiritu1319 hey bro I wish I could help you but this comment old I don't have that system anymore sorry
How do you download psp games on rg351p without using a computer but smart phone
what do I do when the authentication doesn't work? it's not working for some reason
Hi dude, authentication credentials are based on the firmware you use. Different firmware/OS have different credentials. What OS are you running, maybe i can find out the credentials for you.
@@MashTecI have the same problem. I'm using the stock OS
@@jaysonocampo6472what device are you using? A RG351 with stock os?
@@MashTec Im using RG35XX H with stock OS
@@jaysonocampo6472 oh ok, yea that one doesn’t have the ssh service available. So ssh login is not available unless you use a custom firmware.
Maybe there is a way to activate the ssh services manually, but i don‘t have the device to figure it out :(
Sorry i don‘t have a better answer for you.
