One thing worth noting about Blaze of Glory: if you play with non-Guardian traited allies that are only Guardians due to Star-Lord's hero ability, you can actually play it in hero form, and then end your turn in alter-ego, which shuts off the Guardian trait ability, thus sparing all your non-Guardian traited allies from taking the Blaze of Glory damage!
@@SP_Rocks1408 I mean, yeah? But you'd attack or thwart with them while they have the bonuses first, THEN flip to alter-ego as the last thing you do on your turn. The bonuses only last til the end of the phase anyway.
Nova Prime! Annihilation is IMO the best story line Marvel has published in the last 20 years. Glad to see Nova finally show up in Marvel Champions. I can only hope he eventually gets his own expansion.
Star Lord is fun, but in game play, for me, he is awful. Took me 5 tries solo to beat regular Rhino. no other hero has failed at that high of rate for me. The extra encounter cards can take you from verge of winning to done easily. The 1 defense of each card is so terrible of a value. he is chaotic for sure, but not sure worth it. ran 2 player game with a buddy, who had crafted a majorly cool combo with allies, and we still took 3 tries to beat absorbing man. his extra encounter cards just made the scheme jump 16+ to end the game both the losses. Then the one win he did 28 damage in 1 turn. High high risk reward.
Oh, he's far more broken than that. Since it simply says "deck", this silly space dog can discard from the main scheme "deck" or even the villain "deck" itself. Cosmo isn't just broken, he's game-breaking. It will get errata very soon, guaranteed.
@@amansparekh I'm sorry, but you are incorrect. If you go to page 19 of the Rules Reference Guide, you can plainly see that the stack of main schemes are noted as the "main scheme deck", same as the villain cards are stacked in the "villain deck". Because of this, my point stands, Cosmo is blatantly game-breaking and needs errata.
@@housesardel4589 The new rules actually have lines in the Villain Deck and Main Scheme Deck sections that specifically note that cards cannot be discarded from those decks. However, he CAN still abuse his ability on Red Skull's Side Scheme deck!
Thanks for you the review. Do you have a villain you enjoy the most? Everyone seems to talk about the heroes they like the most, but i'm trying to figure out what villains are best.
@@EpicGamingNight Fair enough. I look forward to getting them. I need to get Galaxy’s most wanted first. As someone who recently lost 60 lbs, I’d like to say you are looking mighty trim lately. Good job!
It still amazes me how they have managed to make each hero in this game actually feel like you are playing the comic versions of the characters.
This is my favorite game right now and I hope it keeps getting support!

And since your allies no longer have the Guardian trait, they lose the +2 ATK and +2 THW.

What happens to the Laser Blaster attachment since it requires a Guardian ally? You have to discard?
Roy Cannadayyyyyyyy!!!!!! Great review bud.
Man! Roy is looking TRIM!
Always look forward to these reviews, Roy. Marvel Champions is my number 1 game of all time too!
Me too... Easily...
I just order mine a core set. If its fun. I'll get more sets
Probably the best solo game I've played in years
So the allies will stop being guardians when Star-Lord flipped to alter ego, right?
You are right. So it can make blaze of glory really good with starlord.
Just imagine Star-lord and scarlet witch... total mayhem.
I do it. Very fun and powerfull duo.

Great video as always Roy, keep up the good work.
Cosmo is broken with strange since he can discard invocations

Maybe mutagen formula green goblin or Zola! I should do a top 10 baddies some day!
@@EpicGamingNight Great. Thanks so much for the response Roy.
So Star Lord has a higher base attack than Iron Man and equal to Captain Marvel. Makes sense.
Star Lord gets excellent, but Gamora only gets Approved? That was a surprise!
I just really like the way starlord plays! Very different so I scored it higher! 😬
