Same except when he said “if we can get in with four spots then we can get in with 12.” I think Clemson takes advantage of avoiding elite teams until the playoffs where they only have to beat one or two. If they expand to 12 spots then they’ll have to beat more elite teams (I.e. last year’s A&M, Florida, UGA, cincy). Of course they didn’t even beat osu, but I don’t think they’d want to play any of those teams either. Clemson enters each season knowing they only have one possibly two real challenges until the semifinals

@@zachholmes9253 Think you can throw out OSU last year after Clemson had no offensive coordinator in the game and OSU got there by playing half a schedule. Wasn't it like 6 games? Talk about having an advantage. Showed the next week when OSU ran into Bama.

The SEC east is ridiculously easy. The ACC has Virginia Tech, UNC, Miami, Florida State, Clemson, it’s not Clemson spot that those programs aren’t very good right now. Ohio State dominates their conference Oklahoma dominates their conference. The reality is there aren’t that many truly good football teams.
Clemson plays Georgia or Auburn or Texas A&M every year. Clemson plays a tough are at a conference schedule every year than most SEC teams. And it’s not Clemson‘s fault but South Carolina sucks.
Saturday’s down south, an SEC online publication, did a story about during the playoff era teams that played the most teams in the top 25 in the final poll of the season. Not people that start out in the top 25 at the beginning of the year but legitimate teams that finish the year and the top 25 and Alabama and Clemson were the top two and Clemson is actually beating on the field more teams they finished in the top 25 then George has even played.
The SEC is top-heavy with basically Alabama and then there’s Georgia and only in the last year or two has A&M gotten better in Florida is overrated so the SEC isn’t nearly as tough as people wanna make it out to be. And again it’s not Clemson‘s fault that Miami in Florida state etc. aren’t very good right now.

@@nedhill1242 The SEC Championship Game is quite different than the ACC. Whoever wins the East has to face Bama and then if you are able to win it, two more playoff games after that. Georgia plays Florida and Auburn every year, and then Bama if they get to the Championship Game. I don't think it's that different than if they had to play LSU, Auburn and Bama to win the West.

    • @nedhill1242
      @nedhill1242 3 роки тому

      @@darthnatas953
The SEC is overrated. You have a lot of big-name schools that have had success but rarely is more than one or two really good at any one time. Florida hasn’t done squat in a while. LSU got hot one year because of a bunch of transfer players. Auburn has been through multiple coaches in the last 10 to 15 years. Let’s be honest, there’s no consistency or stability at LSU or Auburn. Florida’s record has looked pretty good the last few years, but go look at who they beat and what their records were. It’s a bunch of wins on paper against a bunch of bad schools that had good records because they were playing a bunch of bad schools.
Thus in the SEC there’s Alabama and Georgia and everybody else. Georgia is the only school worth a crap in the SEC East.
The B1G is pretty much Ohio state. They are significantly better than anyone else in the conference. Like Alabama and to a lesser degree Georgia in the SEC.
The Big 12 is really only Oklahoma, but they haven’t had any success in the playoffs.
In the playoff era the ACC has had two different champions. Same as the SEC. The SEC has had Alabama and LSU. The ACC has had Clemson and Florida State. It hasn’t been that long since Florida State won the national championship. That’s how quickly a program can go to hell. Just look at LSU one year removed from the championship. This is why Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State are better than everyone else. No other program is having this level of dominance year after year after year. Georgia is right there but they haven’t quite broken through yet. Will it be this year? Time will tell.
So basically we have Alabama, Clemson, Ohio state, with Oklahoma and Georgia behind those three trying to break through and after that the next most consistent would probably be Oregon.
It’s not Alabama or Georgia’s fault that LSU and Auburn are inconsistent and Florida hasn’t been crap since urban Meyer left. And it’s not Clemson‘s fault that Miami, Florida state, And Virginia Tech haven’t been as good as in the past. But Miami and Florida State will be back. Virginia tech had one little run but historically they haven’t shown that they are a true powerhouse. North Carolina has been very very good a few different times and they are close to being there again. But again time will tell.
So it is an Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State world until Georgia and Oklahoma prove they can win a championship and make it to the playoffs consistently.

His kids were born there his kids went to school and graduated from high school there his wife actually started crying when Tommy Bowden got fired because she thought they were going to have to move. His family absolutely loves it there.
Have you ever been to Clemson? Clemson is beautiful and amazing. There are lakes all around it and national and state parks and it’s actually on a lake you literally have a lake on campus and you are an hour away from snow skiing and a few hours away from the beach and Charleston and an hour and a half to Charlotte in one direction and an hour and a half to Atlanta in the other direction.

And he built the program at Clemson. It’s easy to win in Alabama. A double built that program it’s his baby. I have heard interviews with his wife. Trust me. They’re not leaving Clemson.
