Nice Video . The only things I would add is when you are using the ' C' Clamp and Compressing the piston , it will go easier if you remove the cap off the Master Cylinder . Just Remember to replace the Master Cylinder cap and when you are all done . And BEFORE you move the vehicle , Step down a couple of times to set the pads onto the rotor otherwise you wont have any brakes for the first few feet of driving . Again , Nice Video and thanks for not filling it with loud annoying music ( like most Videos do ).
I’ve watched 4 or 5 videos on how to change the brakes on my rav4 and this one was definitely the best as far as explaining the details. One thing I had issues with was getting the bottom bolt off to get the caliper off (bolt is tucked in behind shock). I had to jack the car up by the frame instead of the control arm so that the shock was completely extended, which exposed the bolt enough to get a socket around it.
So I work at the manufacturer of the caliper in Japan and we got an OES part from the factory as a sample earlier today. Couldn’t work out how this would be replaced without the slide pins. It is a one unit caliper, no separate bracket. But thanks to your great video it is now clear as crystal. Great job!

Good video. Only thing I do different (if I wasn't going to bleed the whole system) is to loosen the bleeder screw before compressing the piston, to bleed out the worst of the old brake fluid. Then, of course, top off the master cylinder.
Man the second gen RAV4 looks just like the first gen rav4 when it comes to the rear suspension. I'm curious if it's so easy to get rear disc brakes on a first gen by just swapping out the lower control arms lol! For me I would have to need a all wheel drive control arm from a second gen. But I don't like how tiny the calipers are so those would get upgraded lol because I tow 2,000 pounds.
Those pins came off alot easier then mine. One barely came out and the other was seized and actually started to mushroom. Problem is you can't get a direct vertical strike to knock out the pins because the genius engineers decided to place the brake banjo bolt and bleeder nipple directly in the way for a vertical blow. Had to remove the banjo bolt to strike it straight out. Now have to bleed to system. 😖 They could have easily designed it without these in the way and used mini cotter pins or spring clips on the tips. Also a hex head instead of the smooth dome head could help break seized pins loose.
I suppose a thin punch could work to strike them out. You could also put some locking pliers on the pins to rotate and move them. Heat and penetrating oil can also help.
Use a pair of channel lock pliers with one of the old brake pads and remove the cover of the brake fluid reservoir. Now just squeeze the channel lock pliers to push the brake caliper piston back into the brake cylinder.

Can you not just loosen the top bolt and hinge the unit instead of trying to hold it and change brakes
It’s easier to visualize everything when it’s in your hand vs just hinged. Plus this way you can change your rotor if need be.
